How to build an inexpensive box blind! Built this shooting house in just a few hours! Getting ready for deer season here in south Alabama! Preciate y’all!
Damn Jeff you do more by yourself than most people will do with two . You remind me of my oldest brother . I admired him more for what he did by his self than any body I have ever known . Nothing kept him from getting the job done . Great work . Glad to see your arm has healed and your back at it .
This is my first blind of any kind czcams.com/users/postUgkxLQGtOO9dXIsNktEeycGoIT6jtJJNTScA so nothing to compare it to. After I receive it, I set it up and left it outside at home for a couple of months to let it start smelling more like outside than human. So far I've been very happy with it. Very roomy - I hunt alone but could easily fit another person comfortably. Put one bolt through the shoot-through mesh, and works as advertised. I've ordered another one, so this noob is totally satisfied. One caveat - the included stakes are pretty useless; you'll want to order something more substantial. I haven't had it long enough to rate durability, but zero issues so far.
I need to start taking better care of myself at 31 to be half the man he is in q10 yrs. awesome dad, jack of all trade and insane outdoorsman!! I want some of his jerky!!
Really great job Jeff. Two suggestions. One: Make the cross bracing on opposite sides go opposite directions or they’re basically doing no good. Two: Add blue spray paint to your camo. It’ll make it disappear. What a great hunting spot!!
So much simpler and easier to build than the HEAVY ones we used to build that had interior walls and framing with 2x4 studs built like a house. It would take at least a couple of guys to build ours. I like your simple design.
I built a nice 4'x4' tree stand w/ railing all around to attach military camo netting. Used it one season and then the damn tree fell down. 4'x4' floor is plenty roomy for 2 people but your window is a little small for more than just you. Nice light weight roof you were able hoist up on your own. Job well done.
Perfect and Simple box stand! Great build Jeff! I don't think I'd be all that concerned about making the box air (scent) tight. I mean once you open the window to take a shot... the box is gonna breathe.
Good quick job Jeff ! Don’t worry, if ya wanna make better, y’all can add or change whatever you need to later. A window, brush on top, more paint or bracing, heater, frig, Lazy Boy chairs, radio 😁🤣
Great build Jeff, I think with a few bench seats and a fold up table that's attached at the bottom of the window so you'll have a steady shooting platform would be a big help. I'd even go as far as to build a few corner shelves for food and some hooks to hang things on. Great location, and camo.
I tell ya one thing Jeff you are for sure a beast when it come to building and making stuff by yourself. You did more on this in one day than two or 3 Ok workers would get done. Hats off to you bud. Great job and looks good to. Hope y'all do good out of it. Thanks stay safe. God bless y'all.. Preciate yall
Thanks for the video, It's always good to see another home built deer blind design. Our opening day rifle season in MN is 2 weeks away and the temps lately have been 30s for highs and 10s for lows so it looks like a tough season ahead. And the timber wolves ( protected ) have been working the local Deer pretty hard. Always good to see Deer hunting in a different part of the country. Good Luck!
Love it, well thought out and built! Those interlocking foam floor mat pieces would give good help in keeping the floor quiet and insulate from the cold. Reflectix on the inside walls will help to regulate the transfer of heat also. Might help for both, summer and winter. With that, and the glow of a Mr. Buddy Jr. for heat in the winter, should be more than enough light to be able to function during pre-dawn set-up. A feller could even roll out some lawn turf atop the tin. Might cool the roof off a bit in the heat.
That darn dewalt saw rite there is just down rite awesome. Weighs nothing, tons of power, battery goes all day cut whatever you want, love it. 3/12 pitch on that bad boy. So jealous of your old Yota! Had one for 15 years. Thanks for the video, really nice blind, thought the camo job looked great. You have a good weekend yourself sir. Thanks for the video.

Always a blessing to watch this crafty guy. He's always doing something the simple way. Hannah lucky to have such a humble dad. Good job JB

You did a really good job on that. I’ve been watching videos trying to get some ideals.
Jeff very very good job my friends 👌👌👌🏅🏅🏅👈🇲🇺🇲🇺
Great build!!! Easy to see where Hannah gets her work ethic from. But the star of this video is that Toyota!!!!
In the time it takes me to decide which end of the nail to hit, Jeff built an entire stand!
I am in awe of his talents!
If I had to build anything anything I’d pick You over all the rest! Just because You know way better than most folks!
Fastest box blind ever great job 🦞🦞🦉🦉🐗🐗🦌🦌🦃🦃
Good looking blind and setup from your field
I need to start taking better care of myself at 31 to be half the man he is in q10 yrs. awesome dad, jack of all trade and insane outdoorsman!! I want some of his jerky!!
Looking good looks like a good old boys living room and I think the camo did a really good job of hiding it
Dang Jeff-you just Taught an old dog some new tricks on building shooting houses!💥 i’ve been doing it the hard way for 40 years. Great-Great video!

Thanx 4D tip.
Oh yea, to blend with the sky looking up! nice.
I have heard deer see blue like we see hi-vis orange. I stay with shades of green and brown in our mixed hardwood forests.
You made that build look easy, I love how you used the anchor. 👍🏾
You inspire me to get off my butt and work more with my hands. Thank you.

It's amazing how some black squiggly lines makes a huge difference at a short distance away. Thanks for your time and sharing your project.
Shooting stand looks awesome! It will definitely get the job done! Love ole Jeff Barron!
Nothing better than building a shooting house. Man I miss it.
Plant switch grass infront of ur bind and ur path, Works great 👍👍👍
That fast forward is crazy, makes you look like you're gone 100 miles an hour. Good job, that will kill anything.😄
Nice work Jeff. Throw some pine brush on top of the blind to quiet the noise from falling debris. It's cheap and effective
Good thinking instead of hearing them sweet gum balls hitting that tin roof
Roof is genius.

Turned out real nice! I like the rattle can camo, it works well! Thanks
Great looking blind. Glad your arm is doing better. Take care and have a blessed week
Perfect and Simple box stand! Great build Jeff! I don't think I'd be all that concerned about making the box air (scent) tight. I mean once you open the window to take a shot... the box is gonna breathe.
Awesome job! Blessings for many deer (and hogs) taken from it for years to come.
Good quick job Jeff ! Don’t worry, if ya wanna make better, y’all can add or change whatever you need to later. A window, brush on top, more paint or bracing, heater, frig, Lazy Boy chairs, radio 😁🤣
Glad you are all healed up now and back to your outdoor duties. ✌
Simple but will serve the purpose perfectly, great job Jeff!!

Building with an inbound hurricane is a flex.
Keep up the good work!!!👍✌️

Nice work, Jeff! I like the step by step look, at how this is done. Enjoyed the video.
Apparently your bicep is doing well. 💪 😁
Looks great Mr. Barron. Very interesting with hurricane anchor too. Luckily not something we usually need up here.
This is the first time I’ve seen some one anchor a stand, good idea
I wanna see a walk around video of your Toyota pickup, that thing is legendary.
