Good man Tim, Boxer !!! There’s a 1912 Verdel (I’d never heard of it either) 750cc 5 cylinder radial engine bike at the Sammy Miller Museum - thought to be a board track racer. Not a lot of clearance between the bottom most cylinder and the ground and typical of the day it had exposed valve gear.
I have a 2023 Rocket-R, and if you pull away at just the right moment in th opposite direction of the Earths rotation, you can actually Stop the Earth from spinning for a Micro second with the Torque of this Nuclear reactor of an Engine !! Also, most people do't realize that the Rear Brake on a Rocket is also "Radial" like the front, just situated differently
I'm not sure I've ever seen a norton on the road or a showroom here in the states. Their website doesn't suggest they sell them here at all. Good, I say. If I made that v4 thing, I'd let NO ONE have one. I'd price it so high, no one would be stupid enough take it away from me, its that lovely.
I think Ducati is trying to bring in new riders with their Scrambler financing. With such high interest rates and stagnant wages, 0% financing will allow a lot more (young) people to enter the brand
Would have been interesting to hear your thoughts on all the negative comment on Instagram regarding the 801. I don’t get that. It’s basically a mashup between the 401 and the 701, both those models have gotten much love from the community. I don’t like all the details, mainly the tank graphics and the side panels, but I think the overall package looks like a great bike. I have ordered one. 🎉
Not seen that much negative reaction but there’s always someone moaning 😅 Personally can’t wait to get on one - we’ve got the 401 for a couple of months then swapping it for the 801 when it arrives on their press fleet. I reckon I’ll absolutely love it!
@@motobobI love my 401. I bought mine new September 2022 and it is a lot faster than I expected before I tested it. If you press it in the twisties it can keep up with a lot bigger bikes. Looking forward to your review on the 801. I’ll hopefully get mine in May.
I would have an Ariel Ace hands down one of the most beautifully engineered boutique motorcycles ever especially with the cantilever front forks…. I am not sure where the Duke scramble fits, its not retro enough to match the Triumph heritage range or Royal Enfield, and its not a flat tracker like the India FTR and it can’t compete with any modern mid ranger sport naked like an MT9 or XSR or Street Triple R…ps that cape looks like a wedding dress???
I have a 2020 GT Rocket and like you said you can have the same amount of more power with and ecu flash maybe changing the exaust but not enough change to switch yes it is blackout but to me its less impressive to look at it from the side view it more like a blur because its all black so it is time for me to get the new version the ROCKET 3 STORM nope ill keep my 2020 version.
It is interesting that in this video you show yourself sitting on a Triumph with a seat height of 790 ... and you were on your toes ! ... yet you say 820 is for you. Curious.
I will say from the pictures, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 isn't quite as pig-ugly as the previous arrows have been; good they are so horrid to look at... a proven base underneath; seems a good prospect!
Don't agree the husky 800 is not a sexy bike. The 401 is a sexy bike. Just as ugly as the 701. I'm really gutted I was hoping it would look more like to 401.
The thing about all of these hyper-priced, hyper-bikes is that they're seriously dumb. There's nothing clever about throwing money at a bike and then charging the Earth for it. What is clever is designing and making bikes to a price that is affordable, while maintaining desirability and pride in ownership. Norton is just boring. Very much like Ducati and their stupid Lambo, etc., specials...a special mention to Triumph with it's moronic 007 special, too.....rant over and out!

A new MG Griso or Scura with V100 motor, yes please, 801 looks great, FTR1200 nice too but a bit heavy

Radial engines normally have an odd number of cylinders, so 7 or 9 cylinders etc

The 790L and the 790 are two different motors, if that’s the motor you are referring to. Different cams, compression and other stuff
