Honestly. I've been in so many fandoms ever since I was a kid and I have to say that ARMY (even though there's definite problems within the fandom as does any fandom) is one of the smartest. They figure things out, get organized, understand situations, and research very well. Like wow.

Well, this video broke down what I couldn't understand that night. I was wondering how ARMY lost all the fan voted awards. I was confused how BP "won" group of the year, yet it had not been announced yet. And when the boys did win, no thank you video? That is something they wouldn't do. They would take that moment to thank ARMY, as they always do! 💜

Same here. I voted for BTS every day and I saw the last results of it. Then they told us that other artists won instead of BTS whose got the most vote. That makes me don't want to watch these show anymore.

That group is nowhere near BTS in terms of music, sales, fans, literally anything. It's all the mediaplay and honestly it's their agency that's pushing them into the industry and the west. yghee really got a lot of money that he's paying youtubers, influencers to talk good about that group and even paying bucks to commoners to buy the albums, giving free Spotify premium deals to the fandom. Lemme be honest, they're just runway models but not legitimate artists making music. Like it's a trend for them to say they're musicians, but they clearly aren't. this is an open fact even if their fans disagree. And when we talk about it we are the bad guys and they start acting like feminists and make racist jokes towards other groups. Apparently they think the only way to support feminism is to stan a girl group. But look deeper and you find this particular girl group gets music written by a man, and a homophobic, racist, misogynistic, islamophobic douchebag at that. So I'm a feminist if I listen to his shit, but not if I listen to a group of very respectful young men who treat their mostly female fanbase with dignity and respect and write lyrics that empower us to love ourselves, be who we are without remorse and stand up for what's right? And I'm pretty sure their agency is behind the reason for them bagging awards when a group that barely releases music in a span of 2-3 years and no social engagement with fans and doesn't participate either in writing lyrics or producing them.
It's clear that gg aren't deserving bc even 4th generation groups are clearly outselling them interms of music and sales.
(note- you might think why I've typed this huge paragraph, bc it's concerning. you don't realise how disrespectful it is for the artists/musicians who are working really hard meanwhile this group which is apparently called a music group flies to countries for fashion weeks and models for brands but doesn't make music.)

I have nothing against bp but it’s crazy how much media play did for them. Their biggest fan base is in Asia, they’re popular as a brand in the US but are nowhere near BTS. Just for comparison, BTS’ pure album sales for proof were over 300,000 but bp’s were 75,000. Both went number one but it’s very obvious there’s a big difference in the value of those #1s. But immediately after bp went #1 there were news releases saying they’re the reason K-pop is doing so well in the west and they’re making history as the most popular K-pop group
bp were always privileged in everything, thanks to ads and media play with absurd sensationalism where they even cited bts to have media for them, it worked, if it wasn't for yg's ridiculous effort to force a false greatness, they wouldn't have recognition today

I'll never understand what's the drive behind alienating and discrediting BTS in the music industry. Like it's so obvious, they're not even trying to hide it at this point and they keep doing it. What's so bad/hard about giving credit where it's due? I knew the industry was corrupt but they lose their shit to a whole other level when it comes to the tannies. This shit's twisted, man
I think the answer is pretty simple:
1. Straight-up, old fashioned racism/xenophobia. It's why Black & Latin/Hispanic American artists (as Seb alluded to), are segregated into, "urban," categories, regardless of what style or genre their music actually fits. It's also why non-POC artists have greater leeway to jump and/or merge genres & styles w/o fear of segregation.
2. Payola. The music industry has been thoroughly consumed by pay-for-play for a very LONG time. From the early days of phonographs & sheet music royalties, to radio airplay, to concert bookings & tour funding, to all the permutations of digital downloading & streaming - if you don't pay out bribes (whether in money or some other form, like TV appearances or freebies), you don't get played or acknowledged.
The jury's still out on Hybe, but BTS & Big Hit are well-known for not playing the payola game.

the biggest give away was when Jack Harlow won over the Barbz, the Beyhive, Harry's fandom, Bad Bunny's, Doja Cat and Jungkook (and Charlie)....like no offense but there's no way thats fan voted with the little fans Jack has compared to all of these other huge stars....Just stop calling it "fan-voted" it saves us all so much time and arguments 😭

The creating of a category to exclude BTS from main awards AND Grammy noms but no wins is very simple to answer....Competition. Opening a door in American music industry that American songwriters, producers & performers do not want any more competitors. If you go way back in music history...look how long it took for African American artists to be recognized. James Brown, The Supremes, Little Stevie Wonder, (as he was called back in the day) and so many more. They were in the industry literally years and some decades before they began to be recognized. Sammy Davis Jr. did because he was part of "The Rat Pack". Hispanic/Latin American singers went through the SAME thing in the beginning...this is what BTS is struggling through as well. Yes, there was always a one off song that would get recognized in "main" shows and categories, but it was always a statement of "see we are evolving as music evolves". Motown is what changed it for African Americans, Lots of Spanish radio stations in the U.S. changed it for them. It's only a matter of time before they (the music industry) is forced to accept other groups like BTS as a normal part of the American Music Industry. BTS is climbing a very steep hill and the rest of the Asian artists will get to run across flat ground, that's the simple truth. The Beatles had to climb that same mountain for British music here in the U.S. and once they reached the top, other British music came flooding through. Me personally, I don't think any Asian music group will be a BTS type of group, they have become Legends. After the Legend lays down the tracks, everyone else gets to ride on the train.

Korea does not encourage drugs when it comes to fame & fortune or anything of the sort, unless you work for the underworld/blakc market and CrZy shii like that.🙄
As for alcohol, it is usually praised and ingrained in Asian culture to drink and be merry, While still keeping intact, their cultural Heritage and such. They actually care about their people and the images they are portraying to the fans, especially the young ones coming up. nah cause i’m gonna be real honest here, and i’m pretty sure the bp fans are gonna come at me (or not idk lol) but bp were being nominated for the GOTY category, and they didn’t even stay till the end for its announcement yk. So lmfao i’m pretty sure they were said that they would win that because i recall several media outlets saying bp one when it wasn’t even announced. and then at the end when GOTY was actually announced, they were nowhere to be found. they didn’t stay to hear the announcement. This clearly indicates that they knew which awards they were gonna win and which not🤷🏽♀️

Anyways, I already knew they were going to the finals bc they were attending and they have a big fandom. But, I'm not gonna lie, it was really weird for me to see all the media and big accounts posting those news of Blackpink making history and stuff way before the announcement.. I also think it was totally a last minute change. And even if Bangtan weren't going to win, we all know that BTS is the real winner and the ones who deserved that award.
For the Metaverse award I was actually rooting for Ariana grande, for the kpop category I have no words, like BTS should won but it was more understandable since Lisa solo did met the nomination criteria, had a good impact and she attended.
It was laughable to me seeing all the hate comments towards BTS and discrediting their impact and whole career after BP "won" on twitter and their fandom spamming a disgusting hate comments saying things like "I love to see armys cry and blah blah" everywhere while army was still doing the purple carpet (that was hilarious btw) and talking about why BTS is the best. Then the real winner was announced and blink shut up, Army literally replied them with the same comment just to show them how stupid was that.. Karma is really an Army and sometimes attacks instantly 😭😭

Fun Fact: Blackpinks new album did not reach number 1 on the Billboard Worlds Albums Chart. In fact it was not even on the list.
Why? Because Billboard classified it as an English Album and te Worlds Album Chart is for foreign non-english Albums.
They have multiple English-only songs on that album + Songs that are majorily in English (and the usually nonsense hooks that are not words - no shade - it is super catchy and every Idol artist does that - including BTS - but it is not Korean either... so..)
That left Blinks quiet confused and they asked Billboard who explained. (Blinks pointed at Manskin who had a majorily English album and was still on the Worlds Album charts but I guess it also comes down to the officially foreign - read: non-English - songs and their English lines. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really only pay attention to BTS music and don’t care for rest of the kpop singers or group and most American artists. I think real music lovers should agree any type of awards for artists needs to be determine by actual sales of their album. If your music is actually good I would spend my money buy their album. No one will spend their money for actual album unless they really love it.

Just a note on the part about the Latin award.
I agree with the point she was making that race (or rather ethnicity) has no relevance here, and that it should only be about the language and the music… but her example was stupid.
The award was best Latin, not Latin-American. She was too focused on race and completely ignored the fact that Latin is an ethnicity, so it’s not exclusive to any one race. If that chick is Spanish, then she is Latin and her race has nothing to do with it. I would go as far as saying that, to claim she’s not Latin because she’s white is extremely racist. It’s also ignorant of history, since Latin blood and culture is only IN Latin-America due to Spanish and Portuguese occupation.

So when I began noticing BTS there were bunch of other fans recommending other Kpop groups. I checked them out then I came across *that group. I didn't enjoy their music but was captivated by their individual talents especially Lisa's. I'd watch her fancams.

I'll always support BTS and all the members! I believe BTS should have won numerous awards that they were bypassed for, for whatever lame reason people want to throw out there! I also don't want to make this into some battle for the criticism to mock. I just personally don't think i can support any awards shows anymore.They've always used the best act for last as click bait, for years, actually. But the integrity and entertainment value has gone down the drain!! Definitely just greedy, ignorant, and arrogant people running the shows these days, which is really so sad to watch. I really wish people could just approach things in an honest and factually justified manner, which could actually make these events truly interesting, fun, and entertaining on so many levels. Music is a form of artistic expression that comes from all various types of generes, culture, emotions/feelings, from anywhere or anything that moves you!! That's life experiences. Sorry if I ranted, I usually don't say much online, but I just get so disappointed with people and their behaviors within society and systems.
