- n 1900 William Saunders Crowdy established the Church of God and Saints of Christ (COGSC) in Philadelphia, PA based on a vision he had years earlier. He claimed that God had revealed to him that black people were descendants of ancient Israelites.

The reason Jack Wilson thought that they were Israelites despite a long history of paganism among the Celtic people is probably because of King James was the King of England and Scotland. They do have scattered Israelites among them but clearly there is no enmity.

Bishop Crowley was correct about his theory; however, he didn't have the benefit of the internet as we do to thorougly research our claims through old books, archeology, historians, etc.
