    I’m speechless - the quality of work is amazing and the attention to detail is outstanding. There’s zero wasted effort everything is moved and is put where it needs to be first time. It’s just exceptional all round.

      That's a great way to put it. I would not be too surprised if Chris delays fixing it for an extra video or two (why fix it until you REALLY need it?). Definitely makes people comment.
      Not that Chris would necessarily do something like this, but I've seen/heard some CZcamsrs intentionally make stupid/obvious errors that are meaningless (e.g., mental math errors) just to drive viewers to comment.

    Hope his engineers are thinking about water handling long term. With that clay under layer, it’s not likely to drain well. Hopefully the basement is higher elevation than the pond level.
    On a more near term, are you watching the storm in the Gulf? Predicting that it’s coming your way next weekend. May need a method to pump out your holes or the walls tend to erode and sluff in.
    I said it once before ( quite some time ago ), but your eye for grade is nothing less than impressive! Nice looking work!

    • @cathiwim
      @cathiwim Před 10 měsíci +3

      My guess is they will use Form-a-drain around the perimeter and have a sump pump just in case, with a small line running out the the pond. Then they can fill in the base pad(maybe do radiant floor heating) then start putting up the ICF.

    I live in Michigan, before there was machines do digging it was done by hand. A typical farmhouse a 8-9 ft deep trench of the foundation was dug then field rocks were laid in by hand. The house would then be built on top of it. After the house was built the basement was then fully dug out. The basement would be left as a dirt floor.
