    Quick tip: you can get to the music play from any screen by holding the left lower button (just like you would hold the left upper button to go to the quick settings).

    Great review Jordan. I liked the interview type of angle. I have the vivoactive 4 as my main watch the battery life of that is trash especially if you use play music on it but I'm still a garmin fanboy

    Great review! Ran over my garmin vivoactive 3 😂 and have been rocking the Apple Watch 5 with the workoutdoors app for about a year... gosh the Apple Watch is so convenient for the messaging and calls capabilities, but I miss the gps accuracy (surprised by the cornering issues you had), general activity functionality, and battery life... will probably eventually purchase 245 non music and still use my phone for Apple Music paired with my jaybirds... your feedback confirmed I don’t want to fool with the Garmin music!

    • @JordanThomasmedia
      @JordanThomasmedia  Před 4 lety

      Glad to be a help! If you have the Apple Watch, you definitely don’t need the music version. It’s just hard to beat Garmin when it comes to running stats. The issue with cornering is small, but worth noting. On a track I can see my distances so not too big if deal. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Jordan! Any additional useful/significant feature to buy this watch instead of using phone app, besides HR feature? I find programmed training is useful, any other? Please don't get me wrong. Consider this comment as someone who really ask and want the watch, not someone who would argue buying a sport watch is useless.

    • @JordanThomasmedia
      @JordanThomasmedia  Před 4 lety +1

      My goal isn't to convince you to buy the watch, but highlight the things that I enjoy about this running watch. There is programmed training also available for 5K/10K. The gps is a lot more accurate than a phone, and I barely cracked the surface on the smart watch features in this review.

    On the forerunner 35, I was only ever able to set an interval session with one type of rep and one type of recovery ( eg 10x400m w/60 sec rec) . On the 245 can you set sessions with a variety of lengths of reps and recovery ( eg 5 min , 4 min, 3 min, 2 min or 5( 300,200,100))?

    • @JordanThomasmedia

      @ColinMcAlister-kilt Před rokem

      It’s too dark for me too. Just another 30% brightness that I could control would’ve been great. It’s my only disappointment with it. And because EVERYthing with a screen has a light-dim slider I really couldn’t believe that this watch just doesn’t. Don’t know if a software update could’ve fixed it or if the leds are just too weak to start with.

    Thank you for the watch review. I used Garmin for many years until I dropped it in the parking lot, and someone drove over it and smashed it. I replaced it with the Polar M 430. It was the best sports watch I could get for the least money (in my opinion). I will keep the Garmin 245 without music when need to replace my current watch. One question - how does the watch respond to tracking elevation gain (altitude). I don’t get adequate elevation tracking with my current watch. It makes it tough to complete the 2,000 K climbing challenge on STRAVA. Thanks again.
