    KZ continues to impress! Great review Juan.

  • @KingsPhotographySolutions

    The lack of mesh over the ear hole is a better design shared by high end multi driver IEM's. The reason for this is the mesh would muffle high frequencies more than low frequencies. So with multiple drivers all properly balanced, you wouldn't want to muffle one of them more than the other, if that makes sense. 😁 If they did have a mesh they would probably sound muffled ,much more suppressed highs, and much less clarity at the upper frequencies.
    Each driver would need it's own mesh to take into account the dampening effect of the sound passing through an object (the mesh). 😁 Hope this clears things up and was helpful. Took me ages to discover this with multi driver IEM's over the years. 😅

    As someone who has been into moderately high end home audio for 50 years and has done semi-pro FoH mixing, and amateur musician, I was looking for a good in-ear monitor. These are amazing for the money. Are they a Westone clone for a 10th price. No. But they kill my $150 Shure in-ears for both sound and fit. These maybe best fitting in-ears I've tried. The KZ's definitely can do low end. I love how the are not bright or edgy. Unlike the reviewer, I may prefer the midrange dip. I'd say you can't go wrong w/ these. I've seen US vendors going as low as $40. I paid $60 and am happy.

      I just listened to same song using my high end Merlin studio monitors and and outboard amp. The KZ does play to the 'polite' slide by rolling off some upper mid and highs. They are not ruler flat in response, so I can see the reviewers gripe. But they are very pleasant sounding, and again....the fit is just spot on. And cheap!!

    Are you sure about AS10s having less mids? The website says they bring out more mids, because they tuned it like that.
    And I just got an AS16 which has a lot of high mids so I assumed it will be the similar story for AS10s.

    Remember that ALL speakers, headphones, earplugs etc need to be "played in" (I don't know the correct english word) atleast 25 hours before the sound starts getting better or optimal. That includes electrostat, balanced armature etc. I had to play normal volume on my speakers for about 10å hours before the sound really changed and got even better.
    Also: Never play at max volume before the got a chance to worm up. That also goes for amps.
    And remember: For speakers it's better to have too much power than too little. To little power is what usually kills the treble drivers.
    And watt is not just watt on a amp.. Some messure it the wrong way (ex: 1ch driven at 6ohm and 1kHz) and some messure it the right way (all ch driven at 8ohm and 20-20.000Hz).
    It makes a HUGE difference. 100 "fake watts" are weaker than 40 "real watts"

    I am honestly done with buying earphones. I have bought so many KZ earphones it is pretty much ridiculous. :-D
    AS10s are the only ones which fit me perfectly and I am very happy with those. These are really different from the rest of the line up. I thought they were muddy and then I realized they are flatter then any other KZ IEMs, especially coming from KZ ZS6 which have quite a steap V shaped signature. The mids really are emphasized more in this case and I got used to them quickly. I like them a lot. :-)

    Think Powerbeats 3/Monster punch, Improved Clarity of KZ ZS10 Pro, with rumbling bass from some other headphone which does that well.

    I love the clarity that comes out of my ZS6s, but the highs are really irritatingly strong 😕 You always have to mess with EQ tuning to save your drums from tearing in high volume levels. Other than that I'm always amazed with the sound detail you can get for such a price!

    • @SomeGadgetGuy

    • @Kik_Hat_Sne
      @Kik_Hat_Sne Před 5 lety

      Yes. In my opinion, they all kz eartips are towards the harder end, compared to stock tips that come along with other brands. I recently got a pair of TFZ series 2 and the stock eartips are great compared to the ones i got with my KZ ZS5.

  • @tun3tym3
    @tun3tym3 Před 5 lety

    agreed with most of what you said. The AS10's for me are bright. The scoop is the mid's is not much but its enough for me to complain that these are not as balanced in the different spectrums. I prefer the sound of the ZS10 Pro's. Although, I do think the sound stage on the AS10 is wider than the ZS10Pro. The ear port with no grill is a moot point if you use Comply tips. Simply get the version with wax guard. Going to try to ZS7 next. Thoroughly impressed with KZ so far. While the AS10 is not to my liking due to the tuning the 10Pro's are allot closer to my $800 in-ears from 64 Audio.

      I've collected almost every KZ earphone until the AS10, but my personal favourite is still the ED16. The bass on the AS10 isn't as deep and "thump" as the ED16 and the highs isn't "sparkling bright" as I would like. It is also quite bulky like my ZS5 but is way more comfortable than the ZS5. The AS10 is relatively easy to drive even with my Huawei Mate 20. I would personally recommend the ED16 if you can still find them due to the comfort and price.

That happens when I set the volume less than 40 percent, being this more annoying at lower volume. The system works. Make a universally standard (and un-license-able port) a little more difficult to use, and you can nudge a consumer over to a more expensive solution which will wear out sooner because of the extra parts like radios and batteries.

      Get a LG V60 if you don't care about 5g get the v35, or V40. The LG V60 I literally consider to be one of the best smartphones made to date and not just because the quad DAC. It literally has the better call quality and reception of any phone I tried to date. I have a iPhone 13 pro and couldn't even get good quality signal when tower was bad in area. The LG v60 worked flawlessly the whole time. Plus sound quality like HD vs the iPhone that at time sounded as if you are under a tunnel. Then look at the design and you see the porting on the mics are deeper to help prevent dirt built up and literally uses 4 separate mics some for noise cancelling and etc. The internal speakers are better then any android phone I tried over the years and yes true stereo separation unlike most that put both speakers at the bottom. Just the design and hardware is better. Only thing wish was they when with a 120hz display but to me not really a big deal.
      To bad LG not making phones anymore. I believe the G4 and V10 kill their reputation and they never recovered but honestly they made way better phones then Samsung does currently. The Asus ROG 5 is flawed as currently have one a Wifi stopped working and second replacement doesn't power up correctly all the time. I do believe it fault of the Snapdragon 888 as work on phones and seen same issues with customers Samsung s21 the 8 one that came in with same issues, where I have to hard reboot them as overheats. I wish I could just return it. The LG v60 never failed me as of yet and is my daily for very reason. Not the prettiest and huge but works the best and reliable.

    • @tai2691997

      imo the ZS10 is more 'normal' I'd say, because it's still has 1 dynamic driver it sounds more realistic. BAs can make some type of tunes sound artificial, the sub bass of AS10 tho.... it's crazy deep, it goes so low the kick drums sounds like someone actually kicking you in the ear.

      The issue with your statement is traditionally if someone is paying high dollar for a IEM or earphone with multiple drivers, they are going to be expensive (usually) and the company is going to value build quality over looks. If looks mean more than quality and audio to you, buy beats or some other high price headphones that are made to look cool.
