    THis is like a mini fishing vessel/ship. Ive never seen a boat this size with this kind of layout. Extremely unique! I would want a higher cruising speed and or top speed just in case I got caught in some sketchy seas and currents. That said, Im sold! This put a smile on my face.

      @@Ivan-pl2itunlike most European languages, English has only a very few nouns with associated gender, ships and boats are among these, and they are always female. If this bothers you, maybe see a list of male nouns in French and see if that makes you feel better 😊

      Boats are referred to as female because of the similarities to human women. They are expensive, complicated, usually overly complicated, sometimes bitchy, and often difficult to deal with, and the greatest and worst thing to ever happen to a man... You're welcome 😁

    37’ and no separate shower? Are there any cockpit shelter solutions for intense sun or rain? How about a better review of the mechanical spaces? How about fitting a watermaker? Double sink? The list goes on….
    Touted as “Trailerable,” but no further description?
    I would like to see an in depth review that addresses more considerations.

    (Just a casual viewer here) A little more speed might be wanted for returning in inlets with higher waves, or do you just pick 'good days'?(But a good seaman would be able to well) Seems the design trades cabin room for deck room. And getting between the forward cabin and aft will be an issue on wet days. (A problem with Fletcher class destroyers too.) Going to Florida, how is the cabin ventalation? Any good sea berths for sleeping while under way?
    Still it looks like an easy to handle boat for an older couple. And does a lot on a small hull. And probably quite fuel effecient. The side access openings would be great for a boarding ladder. Getting onto the boat with scuba gear is much easier at the center is much less effected by pitching from swells at a dive site, and boarding the dinghy.
    The 'trailerable' comment could be better defined. The 8' 6" beam means it can be trailered without requiring a wide/oversize load permit which makes trailering the boat much easier as oversize loads are quite restricted. If you want to be picky 14 to 16 foot wide boats can be 'traiilered'.

    The narrow beam of this boat and Seakeeper are a good match or she will be rolling a lot in unprotected beam seas. I have a Seakeeper 5 on a larger trawler and they work quite well, with no protusions outside the hull to hit or snag things.

    • @yachtlens
      @yachtlens  Před měsícem

      You would have to be on the boat to feel her stability. She has a low engine placement, well centered weight distribution, 2,000 lbs of Lead ballast and yes adding the Sea Keeper is a great option. Pocket trawler meant for intercoastal waters! Easy to trailer with even a 2021 F-150. Thanks for watching.

    I'm thinking about how much more storage and how much more fuel & water you could store if you swapped the inboard with twin 50hp-75hp outboards (not to mention the redundancy if you have an engine failure). Increased range, speed, and reliability are always a plus. I'd be willing to bet the increased cost of a second engine would be negligible. As for WHERE to put the dinghy, a simple hand winch/rack setup (aftermarket for Ranger Tug Outboards) is cheap, so you could put your dinghy above the galley area. A lot of inflatable dinghy models are light enough to move by hand too. 🤷‍♂️
    Hell, I'd sacrifice the rear deck entirely to move the wheelhouse and galley back, and then stretch the birth back 2 feet to add storage at the bow, and to eliminate the "V" in the V-birth. You could then store an inflatable dinghy and electric motor charger in the bow storage.
    Where's the retractable awning and removable table over the cockpit? Outdoor dining is kind of a "must" if you're in the Keys or Bahamas. 🤔😏
    This thing has SO MUCH untapped potential (especially for people with a budget), so I hope some changes are made in the future. I'd be throwing my money at Northern Marine for one right now, if it had the changes I'd suggested.

    3 Solar panels but how many watts are they each? How many amp/hrs are the batteries? What sort of lithium are they? What is the capacity of the charge controller? Does the charge controller use a DC to DC charger off the start battery and will it charge the start battery from solar when the engine is not running? Fridge/freezer capacity? External camera/FLIR? V berth “accomodations”, there’s one bed so that’s not a plural word. It’s pretty cramped up there. Shower? Not sure if you filmed this with a phone but use the wide angle lens please.

    • @bobg1685
      @bobg1685 Před měsícem

      TBH, the forward cabin isn't really as much of a visual blockage as first thought. The stern pilot position is the good for overall control of the boat. Remember, the rudder pivots the stern one way or another, unless you apply bow thrusters, so the stern position gives you a good view of how the boat is handling.

      Kind of a silly question IMO,
      I'm not sure if you've ever seen a lobsterboat from Nova Scotia.
      You can hardly see the horizon looking out the wheelhouse and its positioned forward almost on the bow.
      Also generally The bigger the boat the less visibility you have and the larger your blind spots are.
      If that's your first question you don't have enough experience to be on that boat.

    I'm on the fence here..nice idea, but I question a few things. First of all, the amount of water that has clearly dripped into the area under the centre cockpit; clearly not very watertight and I wonder what it would look like after a few days of rain. I also don't see the point of solar panels, you're not going anywhere offshore or remote with this boat, especially with such a shallow draft, which brings me to my next point, basically no keel so I wonder how much leeway she makes if there's a strong tide or current running? I suspect the autopilot is going to be working pretty hard. Also, I think visibility from the helm could be an issue too. Finishes look nice, I think she'd be fun for the ICW but can't imagine taking her anywhere else.
