It is a beautiful board. I use the previous version (Z590) of it and this motherboard is truly a beauty. The setup looks extremely cool after building the PC.

Can you advise which power supply do i need to connect z690 Extreme 24+1 (105A ) ?
I built a beast of a pc about a year and half ago right before the new gpus were announced. I spent around $3500 and nowwwwww I want to build another one with everything coming out. Time to start saving again lol.

I have one and when i connect the ram memory shield she blue screens. The ram maybe not compatible but it fits underneath the cover. Idk not really a biggie anyway
It's nice to see super-high-end material. Even if we won't use it or get it, we know it's there and in ten years the features might become more common.
Back-up cameras in cars are an example.
I have the Gigabyte Master, I'm quite happy with it.
Would I like more? Sure.... but other than more M.2 drives and SATA connections (that all work at PCIE4 at the same time).... I don't have any more wants in motherboards atm. 6 M.2's and 10 SATAS would be fine for me. But I'm a digital hoarder who makes too much art.

That board is a work of art, Aorus really do have some of the best looking motherboards, once prices for DDR5 go down hopefully the end of this year or early next year ill be getting either the Aorus Master or Asus Hero so I can overclock the crap out of the 12700k but this all depends on how good the new AMD Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 are.

Absolutely bonkers board. Would I love one? Yes. Will I ever get one? No. Definitely not a board for the average consumer. But I still love seeing how nuts they can get with motherboards. Great video fams :)

About a year ago I originally purchased the xtreme x570 ver for my 5950x. it was dead as a door nail when it came in so I never got to experience it. :( Ended up buying an Asus hero wifi because I needed something fast. I just didnt want to deal with the rma because I had vm's to run and games to play. I'm also still thinking about getting the Corsair 1000D but it's such a large case. Currently using the 5000X.

I'm one of those people who hate their money but in spades! Being late to the party in November 2022. The difference is I bought the Waterforce version serial #004 out of 200 at $2000 USD 😮 It's getting decked-out with a 13900K, G.Skill 2 x 16 DDR5 ~6600ish, dual Samsung 990 Pro 2TB/1TB SSD's, Nvidia 4090, Corsair AX1600I PSU and cooled by a massive Alphacool 560 rad with (4) Delta server fans and dual Bitpower D5 pumps. In the process of building a 30" x 30" x 10" full size tower that rolls around on casters and am adding a Burson Playmate 2 DAC with Sparco Op Amps. Even with such a large case the available real estate is getting sparse. The MB with the full coverage cooper waterblock weighs a ton. Even the ram will have a waterblock. Should be a badass system.

You say the m.2 slots all 4 of them are pci 4.0 but aren’t they enabled for pci 5.0 once the drives come available?

@@GearSeekers thanks for the quick reply, so then for this board which has 2 pci 5 slots u can probably use 1 for the graphics card and 1 pci to m.2 pci 5.0 adapter if it comes out to use a new faster ssd.
The price on this Z690 extreme just dropped today by almost €200,- so it’s around €760 here now. I think i’ll still get one with some DDR5 5200mhz memory and intel 12900k cpu. As these are the last 3 components missing for a new build.
Bit of a confused dinosaur here, but are there any CPUs in the near future that would even be able to make full use of dual 16 lane PCIes?

I have a gigabyte Ud5 extreme. It is still going strong 13 years later if that means anything.
It's a neat board, but if I'm going to spend that kind of money on a z690, I'm just going to buy the ROG Apex. The Apex has way more overclocking features that are more appealing to me, and the VRM on the z690 Apex is kind of insane. In terms of a daily/productivity board, this has it beat, though I think there are cheaper options with similar functionality and IO.

I picked this up for 300$ from a coworker missing the front panel (didn’t come with it from gigabyte) connector and antennas ( coworker forgot to put them back) building the board slowly

Today in things I can only stare in awe at:
I own the x570 xtreme since the 2019 launch and the only issue I've had since day one is with random occasional phantom usb disconnects/connects. I had to disable system alert audio to keep my sanity. The issue doesn't seem to effect anything already plugged into usb. And has no effect on workload performance. You could unplug all usb and it would still do it like a phantom device is being plugged in and out. It's all very strange. I'm not sure I would go with anymore gigabyte products.

I am running my 11900 on the Maximus Hero, 128 Gb RAM with two 3090's. I want to upgrade to the 12900 with DDR5. First...if you run Sli on this board, that third slot is covered by the second 3090...right? But then...what would I need that third slot for anyway, eh? At least...the graphics bridge needed is a 4-slot. It took me three months to find my 3-slot NVlink. And Damn...right on availability. Can't find the Hero Z690, 12900, or DDR5, anywhere...unless at highway robbery pricing, eh?
Why run 2x 3090's on an Intel board? You'll only get 8x out of the 3090, otherwise bottlenecking both
@@darkoctane25 Ran two 3090's...cuz I could. Smiles. I'm going to sell the second 3090...cuz they are worth more than gold prices these days. I know...cuz I paid those prices. Time to recoup a little of that.
The 4 Sata connector is really shocking to me, especially for that price. I have never seen or known of any motherboard with less than 6 of those and i know that it has 4, M.2 slots but still for people like myself who really utilise those sata connectors with Blu-ray burner and a lot backup HDD's that's not enough. Rams hidden in a compartment is pointless especially if you are an RGB fan and want those cool RGB' s ram sticks showing their RGB's glory, and yes the compartment has it's own RGB's but that doesn't have what the RGB's sticks can give you. I love my G-skills Ram sticks

I have the X570 Aorus Xtreme and while most won’t ever buy that level of a board, it’s a masterpiece. I don’t like the look of the Z690 version but it sure can produce a lot of power.

the cost to build a new top of the lines pc is scary. Sadly it's changing into something only the rich people can afford. Specially if you consider that in only 2 years it would be outdated hardware
there always be affordables too, expensive, fancy motherboards, aorus z390, x570 aorus xtreme, designare aorus, msi, some models will be outdates soon, other models will remain, and new systems will arrive expensive and other affordables for AMD and Intel. this never ends. only rest to enjoy what we like xD :D
This is early adoption type stuff. It’s “future proofed” for many years as well. This isn’t wasted money as many PC gamers rigs are years old anyway.
All these boards look amazing but I just can't get my hands on ddr5 ram. What ist going on? DDR4 you can get in real large quantities. Maybe intel should have waited 1-2 months with alder lake s.
