This is the best review I've seen so far on this board. Thank you!
Wow, thanks! Amazing to hear and enjoyed doing the review as well.
Thanks! I'm putting together my brother's computer system that I helped my mom pick out the components for his Christmas gift. Was looking for a video that went over the individual connections and you did exactly that.
Thanks, Just picked one up and this was super helpful.
24:04 This was a great observation. Glad I watched this video before my build since I ran into the reboots myself (3 times?). This video also explains the ports and connectors well. Thanks!
Same for me but it's been more than 3 times though. Any suggestions? Faulty motherboard?
@@AthifKhan I would try to flash it with the latest BIOS before returning it. Not sure how comfortable you are with flashing the BIOS. If not there are plenty of videos on CZcams with step by step instructions. Good luck!
Good info and review. Thanks.
Just picked this up. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for the comment and also for watching. Enjoy your build!
@@Silent157 even after BIOS update?
This video was a great help, thank you.
You're absolutely welcome and glad it was helpful.
Thank you for this video I’m
Trying to build my first pc and I’ve heard a lot of bad stuff about the gigabyte gaming x and I’ve heard the same for this board, but overall would u recommend this for a first time builder
Thanks for this bro!!!
You're absolutely welcome!
i got the same mobo the z690 arous elite but ddr5 version and g.skill trident z5 (32gb) ddr5-6000 paired with my 13600k. 13th gen overclocking ddr5 ram will be something i never done before :D
Hi, great review btw... I have a question, perhaps you could help me. I just bought this motherboard, and I want to put an Arctic Liquid Freezer 2, AIO on it for the cpu cooler. I noticed the VRM fan on the cooler looks like it would extend over the VRM, which is where Gigabyte put their aluminum heat sink fins for passive cooling of the VRM. Do you know if the Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 would work for this mother board?, despite the VRM fan looking like it would interfere with the passive cooling heat sinks?
Thank you for this video, you handsome bastard!!
I literally can't get that bios screen for access. When I boot into bios it just loads a simple screen for flashing but not letting me into any other options
Was hoping for a comment about the SSD heatsinks at the 20 minute mark. Was going between two boards. The other didn't have the SSD heatsinks. Trying to decide if the SSD's that come with the heatsink would be more effective.
Hi! That was a great tutorial on building a system with this board.
For my future build, i plan to buy this board with a Core i5-13600k and G Skill Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600 PC4 28800. My idea is to fit on it the Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Dual tower as my cooler. Will it fit with the rest if i get a Full ATX Case?
I have a dark rock pro 4 and it fits fine. Hope that helps
@@fefisfefis42 Quick Following up : I bought My system with a few modification on hardware parts. For instance, I bought the NH D15S instead. My casing is a EATX Mid tower Fractal Torrent. After gathering every single pieces (delivery can be slow!) i build the system i really wanted. Everything is working top notch!
why one m2 Slot has 2 side passive cooler and the others dont have?
What is difference with this motherboard and Gigabyte Z690 AORUS master
My Huion drawing screen tablet use USB-C. So I only have 1 cable to power, data and screen input. So there you go with the 1 usb-C connection on the back :D
Hi, is it possible to turn off the AORUS sign RGB light that light's pink? in your video at 43:21?
The Aorus software to manipulate the RGB LEDs on the board doesn't offer this option? Or do you still see the light even when the computer is off?
I notice all the Z690 chipset boards still have a S/PDIF plug but the B660 chipset boards don't
I haven't gotten my hands on a B660 board as of yet, and haven't noticed that detail, though not surprising since the B660 may be a lower cost chipset board.
What Chipset Drivers Do You Need To Download From Gigabyte To Install And In What Order Do You Install Them ?
Gigabyte have their drives available online on their site, but you could also download Intel chipset drivers from Intel as well.
planning to buy this. I have the gigabyte vision geforce 3070ti. I literally have 0 knowledge about pc parts and this heps a lot
Excellent to hear it helped! Hope the build has gone well so far and you definitely can use your 3070ti in this system.
XMP Profiles working? Storage devices detecting problems are there? Seen few reviews on Amazon on these issues
I own the same and xmp is not working
Make sure before you do anything with the board that you update to the latest BIOS which at the time of this reply is f8
There were quite a few fixes for memory issues in earlier versions
Definitely can agree there, especially since if there's any issue such as bricking it, you can always exchange it with your original retailer.
During the video, it seemed the XMP profile was picked up for the memory installed. Definitely try updating the BIOS, as further profiles are recognized.
how many m.2 slots available?
There is a V2 version of it what's the diff
Keep getting red light on led cpu, reinstalled twice little gold diamond to the triangle painted on mobo ? Any other hints to solve this? New install right now.!
Try it one more time and check the pins 😢
For the 8 and 4 pin cpu I only have two 8 pin cpu cables. Can I use only 4 of one of the 8 pin's to have the full 12 pins used?
You may not even need to plug in the additional 4pin, but using 8+4 shouldn't be an issue using half of one of your 8pins. Which CPU do you plan to use?
@@Silent157 Hi! I bought an intel i5-13600K. Can I still use only the 8-pin?
Z690 for a i3-12100F lol. But the video is really helpful and coincidentally you even have exactly my case.
you can use a locked cpu on z690, it's meant for unlocked K chips but even locked processors can benefit. the price is the main thing you have to consider.
I3 1700 currently around 140.00 , I5 12600k - 277, I7 13700 - 450 , I9 13900 690. Z690 for the I3 with choice of upgrades at a later date makes perfect sense. Not everyone can afford builds of two to three thousand dollars. Why not buy a board that will support the higher end CPUs and overclocking ?
Iam currently building a wheel and deal build with all used parts .. iam trading 6500xt and alittle cash for this board.. that’s Iam gonna pair with a 12400f I got off market place and a 6700xt . All parts off market place.. this was the only board I could find lga1700.
Dude, you missed the M.2 Installation. Portrayed was the Unscrewing, however failed to show an installation on the M.2 SSD.
A M.2 drive was not used in this particular demo, but wanted to show the slots themselves so everyone could see where they are and how many.
rgb ?not have?
the gigabyte website shows Z690 AORUS ELITE AX (rev. 1.x) DDR5 memorry type , but your board shows ddr4 ....how ??
There are 2 different models, one that uses DDR4 and one that uses DDR5. Feel free to pick which one would suit you better, but being that DDR5 prices have come down significantly recently, would recommend the DDR5 model.
@@Silent157 excellent suggestion
Please tell what's difference between
I5 13600k and i5 13600k OEM...
Is there any performance loss in OEM version
Hello, please, you can oc your CPU non k ?
No
Skipped over the SSD installation, part I'm stuck on
same
If you're installing an M.2 drive, one of the NVMe covers would have to be removed. It can then be reinstalled once your drive has been inserted into the slot. I demonstrated how to remove these heatshields in the video.
Did you run it on air you skipped the SSD install , tool
Yes, an air cooler was used on this build here.
