But he has low ki. Unlike other game boss' health is you need to depleted. In Nioh destroy ki opponnent is more trivial.
Literally ended my play session today because of this boss. I'll pick it up again tomorrow, smh.

Ive finished dark souls, bloodborne, and sekiro..i have to admit this is the most ridiculous boss fight iv ever had to deal with

Friede was a lot easier than this boss.
Midir, while being really hard, is less tough than this boss since this boss really revels in unfair BS.
I killed this guy first try. My tonfa build was next level. Midir took me like 10-20 tries. And friede took me like 20-30 tries

Kyle Deckman I’m with you on this, while Midir was easy for me since he’s super fair, Friede is just too fast for DS3 on last phase (turning the fight into backstab bait when going for No Damage). This boss is in the semi-endgame so a player should have ranged options for destroying the horns + being already familiar with the weapon and gameplay
I've played through the first one and got this far without ever looking up tips until I came to this boss. Hella stupid design. Appreciate the guide man.
I plan to finsih nioh 2 without any tips and guides,i even took this boss out without any tips and guides but oh boi did it take me more than 20 tries to beat this bullshit boss

One tip. When he does the charge atk. Block then hit him. You will have time to hit him b4 he swings hus axes upward You will break his tusk with a single hit

If his grab was a burst he'd be SO much less bull
It's really frustrating how few grabs can be countered with burst attacks.
Grabs are probably the most bullshit thing in Nioh 2, they deal SO MUCH damage and some of them have little to no wind up time.

You can punish way more than that. All his throw attacks are punishable if you dodge them, you can shoot his tusks during the charge to break one and do heavy ki damage, and most importantly the axe spin is punishable if you dodge through the axes to get next to him. The axe spin is his biggest opening, he won't move until the axes stop spinning, so dodge through them as soon as he stops moving.
seriously, most people who struggled with this boss probably just never bothered figuring him out...

Most enemies do this bs where you dodge out the way and they somehow still end up hitting you. For example, an Ippon-Datara is about to do the hammer attack and you try to doge out the way IT WILL follow you and end up hitting you, it's almost as if dodging is useless. Also the soldiers that do the axe spinning move, when they do that move it's almost as if they also get the ability to freaking glide, I try to run away and sometimes they end up hitting me because they freaking glide while spinning.
Yeah after finishing the game this probably was my least favorite fight. Don't know how many times I had him near death and then he would pull off one of those combo chains and I could do nothing.

I enjoyed fighting all of the bosses up to this point. This guy is just dumb boss design. I can’t see myself fighting this one legit, gonna have to whip out a cheesy kunai build for this.
Beat him last night, but only because my friend came along. Would've been banging my head against the wall for awhile if I tried to fight him solo. His tracking is crazy and a lot of his attacks are really difficult to avoid, especially with how huge Shibata is.
Wow... you weren't kidding about how useful poison was against him. Been trying to beat this boss for just over 2 days now and didn't think to try poison. Started using it and it took 2 tries.
Combo ninja onmyo build. Went in with an AI companion after buffing both of us with regen and defense talismans. While AI distracted I unloaded 10 kunai into him and then set into him with poison, keeping the regen + defense buffs up. Took roughly 10 minutes to beat him... only because he decided to start spamming his charge and bounce off the walls for extended periods of time. But hey... if he does that while poisoned, free damage.
Can finally actually progress through the game.
When I first fought this boss I didn't get what the complaints was about. He seemed easy but after the first Yokai Realm.... I knew this fight was bullshit.
Worst boss in the game hands down. Got one shot killed by his dark realm grab so much
95 percent of my death is due to his grab. His grab is instant kill.
Double dodge left or dodge through as shown
It does a flat 100% damage. Even with a tank build it 1 shots.

If I’m full health it doesn’t insta kill me but leaves me with like 100-200 HP (my max is 2045) and I’m not running a tank build

I honestly was thinking the same thing. I beat him, but man... he made me rage more than any other game this entire generation. All the FromSoft games and Nioh 1 also. This boss... fuck this boss. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had trouble with this SOB
I’ve never had so much trouble with bosses as I do on this game, not even Nioh 1. It honestly takes me 30+ attempts to beat some of the bosses.
I've had no problems with bosses up till this guy...
I was just about to say that. Its not overly hard but some reason i keep dying when he has a slimmer of hp left...
i had serious trouble with koroku because he just rams through you with stunlock and you're insta dead.

I'll give up 2 Major tips against this Boss and 1 Minor Tip , since Katsuiie Shibata is probably one of the most Consistant Yokai Bosses that he's Fast and basically a Berserker running across the Whole Room like a Maniac...
First of all equip up either Makami or the Nine Tails Guardian Spirit for a good chunk of +12.0% Fire Resistance because that would help ( You could also equip the Nine Tails as a Secondary Guardian Spirit for the 10% Extra Fire Resistance ) surely for me personally i suggest equipping Makami Spirit for he has very good Early/Mid/Late game buffs like his ( Anima Bonus (Guard) A- , Melee Ki Consumption -10.0% , Fire Resistance +12.0 , Final Blow Damage 12.5% & Yokai Ability Damage 15.0% ) one of the best Early Spirits for being offensive with all Attacks & Yokai Abilities also and Makami also has an Attack Multiplier of x1.10 & x0.90 Defense Multiplier.... *Most Bosses untill the End game use Fire Based Attacks mostly rather than the few Lightning & rarely any Water Bosses in Nioh 2*
Second tip is that try having a decent Epic Purple Weapon when you fight Shibata Katsuiie , if its a Heavy weapon then Imbueing it with Water Amulet & going Mid/High Stance is very Powerful.... while if your using a Fast Weapon or Dual Wield , then Imbueing Poison is your best bet while going Mid to Low Stance against Katsuiie.
Lastly , try having a decent Gear wether being Full Epic or Rare it doesn't matter but having a Medium full gear set is better than going full Light Gear , or just try mixing both Medium & Light Armor Gear that's if a Ninja Light Build is on Play... me personally i went with a Magic Build with Heavy & Light Armor mixure ( Switchglaive and Dual Swords build ) Master Archer Set armor pieces and the Golden Boy Dual Swords + Master Archer Bow 5 Set Bonus Pieces... alongside a MasterSwordsman Waist & Feet from Bukouden the Katana Dojo Master 2 Set Pieces ( Also having a decent Hand Cannon within your Ranged Weapons , plus a Benevolant Grave Assist would make this Fight soo much easier that the Grave summon assist can Aggro this annoying Boss for atleast half his Total HP ) Since Katsuiie Shibata is also very Tanky.
Me personally i fought him Solo and killed him the 1st try ( The Mission level recommendation is 71 , i was level 80 during my fight against him ) with the Help of Water Talisman , Steel Talisman & Rejuvination Talisman i was able to hold on my own easily... i only had Power Pills with me from the Ninjutsu Tree & 1 Single Quick Change Scroll for a back-up ress incase he Slaughters me 👌🏼🔥 Also in the Ninjutsu Skill Tree there's a Passive Skill that increases your Elixir Capacity by +1 having a Total of 9 Elixirs is pretty helpful in Nioh 2 specialy fighting some Nasty Yokai Bosses like ( Gyuki , Katsuiie Shibata , Shuten Doji , Lady Osakabe , Tokichiro + Kashin Koji & Otakemaru )
I was stuck on this boss for 3 days, 40 tries or more, spent ton of items but your tips helped me push the scale into my favor! Thank you so much!

To any magic users... I used Sloth talisman, and stacked it up with water (saturation).
Helps a lot, especially during his bouncing back and forth from the walls. Slows him down, and let’s you get some cheap shots in.
If you use dual swords, there's a great counter for this guy.
A safe way of using Windstorm to break his horns:
When he charges at you with his horns, just hold the block button and right after his horns come into contact with your block, and before his does the follow-up axe attack, press Triangle while still holding the block button to activate Windstorm. Trust me, the timing is much easier than it sounds; way easier to time than any burst counter, at the very least. It works 90% of the time, but can only break one horn in my experience, so you have to bait his charge twice, *but don't do this in the dark realm because he pulls his axes out when he charges, which still damage you*
If anyone is still struggling with this boss I figure out the trick
In his normal phase when he does the charge attack block the charge and then before he hits you with his axe you can break his horn by hitting him. A different attack will break his left vs his right horn. This makes the fight easier as he doesn’t do the insane axe charge in his dark realm phase
This comment helped me beat him. Once I figured out how to consistently break his horns, it made the fight a whole lot easier. Thank you.
I agree he is one of the hardest bosses I've encountered so far. I got him very close to death twice before I got the victory in clutch fashion. I couldn't time my forward dodges correctly. So I just kited him in circles when he charged. He took about 8 attempts.
That god awful snake in The Serpents Shrine was probably more horrible for me. It's so early in the game, and I lacked the tools to make the fight easier.
Personal Tips - Use Benevolent Graves. You can also use Sloth & Paralytic Groundfire if you properly distance yourself. Obviously sacred water and barrier talisman help. Like all bosses he devours your Ki.
yeah yatsu no kami is a hard boss
Fighting Saito Toshimitsu on his level without being overleved or sub mission where you fighting Saika boss for second time, flying bird man with gun are the hardest in the game.
Just finished the game and I hated this boss the most. He had WAY too much health and his attacks were so bullshit

By the way the first regular charge he does can usually lead you to breaking one of his tusks with a well timed triangle to the face leaving him with almost only having half ki, helped me a ton
Still has nothing on Ludwig or the orphan of Kos. Took my 5 attempts tops. Man I'm loving this game so far, it's absolutely amazing. To anyone struggling,, try switching up your build a bit. I started dual swords and odachi pure melee build and switched to a glaive/magic build and it works much better for me. You can respec any time. There is an abundance of tools to help progress in this game, dont forget to use them!
I swear he breaks through the Confusion debuff and forces yokai realm. Caltrops fucked up his speed really good and I stacked it with a Flying Bolt soul core to make him even slower. Kind of feel vindicated that lots of other people also have a lot of trouble with him.
Found an easy way to quickly get him out of the dark realm. When he does the charge attack at 0:56, do a burst counter (brute) and it will smash one of his horns doing huge ki damage and stunning him momentarily. Bait him into doing that attack again, then smash his other horn with a another burst counter. Few more hits then you can knock him out of ki and do a grapple attack. Repeat this strategy every time he enters dark realm as he respawns these horns. Also, attacks should be reserved to when you have full or almost full ki bc u will be dodging A LOT. Lastly, dodging forward thru his charge attacks help conserve ki.
So you basically need to fight him with high stance ... High stance and only one hit at a time
@@nayyarrashid4661 i suppose that could work. i use mid stance like 80 percent of time with sword and spear. for me, ki damage was most critical in this fight.
Useful tip : Sloth talisman + Raijin to slow him down just before to break his KI, then use Yaroka water (6k damages) 2/3 times. I took away half of his life in a few seconds.

For any new players he's weak to poison AND water. I'd advise taking both if you invested in magic and ninjutsu. Def makes the fight more manageable.
He got nerfed, but he's still a cheap ass boss. This boss wouldn't even be half as difficult if it wasn't for his hp, or the garbage ass arena they've placed him in.
It seems like Team Ninja lacks the ability to understand what makes a challenging boss fight fun, or one that makes a boss just tediously annoying.
I died to this boss close to 20 times before finally getting him. Slow magic and lightning do wonders, as they give you a few more seconds to recover. Other than that, try to dodge behind him when he charges, and use Yokai abilities to give yourself time to recover ki if you end up in a winded state.
Water is weakness, lightning dont do crap to him lol.
This guy still gives me nightmares. I nearly gave up at this point. I finally managed to somehow kill him, but it was pure luck in the end.
if anyone sees this the poison shurikens and having physical damage vs poisoned enemy really helps

Try this with Agility B rating with the Odachi. I've been stuck on this for hours! :)
Sloth + burst counter for charge makes this fight a bit easy and fun!
Got stuck on this guy for almost 2 days. I finally beat him with low stance/katana. I used poison and regular shurikens, kunai and water feather as well. My dex is at 39 with fuma gear so thrown projectiles (especially to his back) fuck this guy up. Dodge his grapple to the side and you'll have a 2 second window to light him up from behind.

I beat him yesterday without even touching him with my Odachi. Poison/Water Ninjutsu/Onmyo is all you need. I'm level 89, Dexterity 25, Magic 25. I used lvl 3 Poison Shuriken, Blister Beetle-Powder, Water Shot, Geyser Shot and Water Shikigami. Equip accessories with Ninjutsu/Onmyo power bonus (Divination Board, Writing Set). Use low stance and watch your Ki while dodging (I dodged his attacks mostly, blocked only a few, didn't have to use neither Burst Counter or Yokai Skills/Shift). Hit him only after he finishes his combo and gives you a window to attack him. Attack him just once, don't get greedy, his attacks are pretty unpredictable. I used light armor so I could dodge his attacks easily. Honestly, this boss gave me less trouble than the previous one lol. Good luck guys!
For real? I've beat mostly all bosses(base game and dlc) solo and i still cant beat this dude
I've 100% Sekiro and Elden ring, almost no hit Ishin, and i have strugled by far on this boss from all souls like games i have ever played

You can break his Turk during both Grab and Charge attacks. Very easy if you throw a Kusarigama in High Stance. Might be easier to just leave the Tusk on because you can bait him into a charge then hit him after dodging it but you have to worry about his grab during his charge. Another trade off is if both tusk are gone he will spin attack you more often which eats away your Ki if you try to block
Used tonfa to drain his ki easily, but then he'd keep switching between dark and normal and it became a problem. It's so easy to drain his ki though
Legit. This is the kinda boss one prefers not to drain his ki. His dark realm phase is complete bullshit
I came to the point that I'm pretty sure I won't be able to defeat him. And waiting for guests to join takes forever and sometimes even not working.

@JWE I couldn't dodge around him. I went high stance for the extra and dodged through the grabs. Much easier. Also when he does axe spin after he releases you can dodge inside the circling axe and punish

When he use dash on you, use burst counter (i do it with brute/makami power) you will destroy his fang and stop him even in dark realm with this metod! 🔥🔥🔥
Use brute burst counter when he charges to break off his tusks. Not when you're supposed to but when he does the rush with grey wind behind him, use it then and if timed right it breaks off one tusk. Do it two times and you get both easy.
This was the first boss I struggled with in nioh 2, normally I've just been ninjistu spamming bosses and it went well until this guy hahahaha
I ended up passing it. Blinding shells help alot.
Soon as I walked in the door blinding shell then attack from behind as much as I could with water tailsman and carnage. I tried to get him to his dark realm phase before the first blinding shell ran out then used another one on him as soon as the phase started. Then kept running behind him spamming my ninja stars. Then just kept using blinding shells and attacking from behind, finished him off with living weapon
I beat him after hours of attempts over 3 days
What I found is the best way to deal with his BS Yokai realm is just to end it as soon as possible, charge up a Yokai ability or use purification with a heavy weapon to just shred his ki before he can do anything, his total ki is so low that you can just exploit his brief stagger between realms, which you can use to get knockdowns on him with enough hits too
Here' how I got him on the 5th try. Im usimg a Fuma ninja build and kusurigama. I summoned a benevolent grave and before going in, poisoned my weapons and ate a power pill. Dodge his first attack and as soon as possible throw a blinding shell....this will confuse him. When hes attacking the air go behind and attack his back...empty all your shurikans on him, throw more blinding shells and finish him off with guardian spirit
Got lucky with tempering, life steal on all attacks on tonfa (loads of multihit attacks) makes this fight much more forgiving. You can take the occasional hit on purpose to keep damaging him. The only no-go is the grab attack (duh) and the boar. Take firestop talisman and some means to afflict him with lightning and he'll be much easier. (lightning debuff slows him down quite a bit)
Not surprisingly, he seems to be weak to water as well, which can give you a nice attack boost.
Lastly, in contrast to the video, it's pretty safe to punish regular atttack combos by dodging behind him since he has NO 360° attacks in it. However, only try this with fast weapons like DS or tonfa.
Dodging through him was the, best, advice, EVER! It only took mea few tries after I started to dodge through his attacks. it interups his combo and gives you an oportunity. Added with poison and throw weapons it made an infuriating boss manageable. That said the last third of the game is not as fun because of that weird approch of dificulty. Instead of teaching you how to "gitgud" like the From games do so well, Nioh seem hell bent on punishing you with borderline unfair and what feels like unbalanced difficulty choke holds. Don't get me wrong, it's still fun, but this definitly hinders my opinion of the game. Anyway thx Fex, that was a great advice!

All who are complaining... Now you can just attack him when he charges and break the tusk. Break both then he can't charge. It's damn easy without the charges.
To break his tusks, you have to hit him with a melee attack when he's doing the slow non dark-realm grab. Its just way too hard to make it consistent, and all breaking the tusks does is take away larve chunks of ki, and that opportunity can pass by if you aren't prepared for it.
The dark realm is the biggest cancer of this game.
True, it makes souls games like a walk in the park... shibuta and the last bossfight in the dark realms are fucking cheaters. If it would be a onlinegame, i would report them ;).

When he charges at you it is easy to break his fangs with a fast attack (I use dual swords) that is possible in dark realm too (but the timining is harder) After a few trys I was happy about every of his charge attacks , because it easy to "parry" him once you now the timing^^
He wrecked me often enough with his other attacks though...^^
I just beat this guy today and it was one of the toughest fights ive ever had. I had to be absolutely perfect and took forever. This fight is absolutely insane. Im not even sure it was fun but it was definitely stressful.
I think team ninja thinks that they try to make something epic with this boss. Well, no its not 😑😑😑

Just beat this guy and phew, he's a woozy. He IS pretty fun but it's extremely frustrating with how tanky he is and his potential of one-shotting you with a lot of his combos. I'd say try and dodge to your left as much as possible, i noticed most of his swings and tracking didn't reach there as much as they did on the right side. This is also really helpful when he charges. Quick change ninjitsu is good as well, naturally, as is water on your weapon - I THINK. But yeah, have patience and only punish the moves mentioned in the video, seeing how you mostly trade otherwise.
Nice to a video that actually looks at the mechanics rather some OP character melting the boss with 10 different statuses and OP weapons. You should try the brute counter, it takes a lot of the guess work out of timing most enemies bursts. Also for this boss, sloth!
I don't think Sloth really works unless your character isn't fast or doesn't have a fast ki recovery. You're better off with weakness or deinvigorate to knock off more of his health. Comboing him with poison, weakness, and a weapon that does purity damage is a good way to knock out a lot of his ki. I think he's very easy to do if you can keep your eye on him from a distance, wait out the combo and then go for it; also bait him into doing bursts.
Kali Nah it totally works. With larger enemies it opens massive windows to damage, you can get to the back of enemies and stay there where normally you’d might be able to one attack in. It also allows you time to make sure any buffs and de buffs you want to use can be applied. It literally has helped me beat bosses i was struggling on.
This is the the boss that made me quit....
One thing I consistantly struggle with is the fact that I made a tanky character that uses a big axe and heavy armor. I clear regular enemies and yokai with no issues. I can usually make it through entire missions without dying, but then I get to boss fights, most of which wreck me because I'm so clunky and slow
Another Tip/Guide for this boss. When he’s charging at you with that move, go to mid stance and just block so you conserve Ki. Idk what triggers it, but sometimes he staggers if you block those charge attacks leaving him open to attack. Once he staggers, switch to high stance or mid stance and get a couple of attacks off, then immediately switch to low stance and be ready to dodge away.
Dodge to the side for his grab while in mid stance. Since you slide, then roll which covers more ground.
Basically stay in mid stance unless it’s time for you to run, then switch to low stance. Switch to high when his Amina is Red. Good luck!!
Also if you’re omnyo build, use sloth Talisman on him!! Even if you’re ninja, sloth should be your top priority. Seriously trivializes him and most bosses for a good couple minutes. Which is more than enough to get solid damage in.
If you block his charge and then for him with a low attack it'll break his horns.
if you're using brute, you can burst counter him when he's charging you in 0:56 to smash one of his horns and do massive ki damage. do it again to smash his other horn bringing his ki down to roughly 25 percent. a few more strong attacks and burst counters are enough to stagger him for a follow on grapple attack. makes him get out of dark realm fairly quickly. repeat every time he goes into dark realm as he respawns his horns.
The key for this fight is POISON. It is mucho easier using it 😉
Omnyo water build does a ton of damage but you need a good second to keep him busy while you spam magic
this boss got rekt easily by a paralysis focused dual sword build, just keep spamming whirlwind and Double headed slash and you'll just repeatedly stun him over and over again combined with an accessory or armor that increased damage against paralyzed enemy and he'll take a chunk of damage when he's attacked while stunned, as for defense, just make sure you have a lot of fire resistance, sloth talisman will also help a bunch,

Thank you so much for creating this video I literally needed one more hit on him and I would’ve beaten him but I didn’t dodge his attack on time 🤦♂️
After hearing poison worked well I checked my inventory and of course I had nothing that has poison damage. I tried using the poison broth but it didn't really do much. Finally had to call for help because I couldn't take it anymore and took 2 co op visits to beat him. If he didn't have so much health it wouldn't be such a problem.
Honestly, I just threw blister beetle at him while he was charging up certain attacks or summoning the boar. Worked like a charm, also kept it up by tapping him with poisoned kuni. It's not the damage the kuni do, it's just to maintain the status effect.
Whoever designed this boss battle....I hope they fall in the boar pit at the zoo one day, so they can feel the frustration of having to constantly dodge a thousand pound beast every four seconds. That or it already happened to him before, and he's just taking his anger out on the world through this game. Either way, he sucks and I don't feel sorry for him.
Even with +6 divine gear, it's like fighting him with a toothpick. He's the only boss in ng+ that really humbled me again. Took me a good 7-8 attempts. His grab is complete BS.
You can actually break this boss's tusks so he won't be able to charge. The best way is using brute burst counter while he is charging at you.
Finally got him within 8 tries. Lots of blocking and rolling through (not sideways) his rush attacks and then punishing him. But the most important thing was the Kasha soul core. Used that special attack all the time for good damage, so I stocked up on red lily’s and used a lot of them to finally whoop his ass.

Poisoned him and had maximum spec into a my dark realm defense it in yokai form saved my ass at the end

Got it on the 1st try ... just hatchet throw most of the time & poison shurikens work well, Kunai & storm kunai
Burst counter with brute guardian when he charges at you
then follow up with reaper attack with kusarigama weapon. I also use blinding shell, blister beetle powder, and water talisman. I beat him in 5 mins. The burst counter really mess him up when he charges at you.
if anybody need help still dont gotta use poison use a purity weapon it drains the ki bar fast and more damage

The dude that shoots all the time, he's the worst. It's not that it was hard it just took 20mins to fight him waiting for him to melee. They have some awesome fights but ones like these are just annoying as skill doesnt always matter as the timing window changes so often.
Got 100% in DS1, DS3, BB, Nioh, Surge, Surge 2, Lords of the Fallen, Immortal Unchained and I can safely say, this is the worst designed boss I've ever seen...
@TheSoundofathousandClappingAsses Orphan and Isshin were hard as balls but fair, however this guy with his stupid tracking attacks and stunlocks was just unfair imo

Whao you 100% all of those games that is awesome 👍. I platinumed BB and beat Dark souls 3 a couple times and it was a blast. Im playing Nioh 2 right now but havent reached this dude yet so i guess ill see how bad he is soon lol.
@@malwd6321 Nah Orphan and Sword Saint were not bullshit. They were extremely difficult, but none of them had attacks that couldn't be avoided. They don't have any attack that 1 shots you as well. Shibata is much more manageable when you destroy his tusk, but the arena can fuck you over big time depending on your position when he does certain attacks.
This fucker made me respec my stats. Until I got to him, I was odachi and a sword, now I am using just odachi.
Just beat him (with the help of an AI visitor). Screw honor, this boss is BS and no fun. The key is to get him out of the Dark Realm phase as fast you can, so I waited to use my Anima (purple bar) for that purpose alone. The "One-Eyed Oni Soul Core" helped a lot in that regard. Because I summoned, I basically tried to keep the boss between me and the visitor and just laid into his back as much as I could. Of course, the AI dies half way through the fight (they don't heal so good) but luckily I had my Yokai Shift saved up ready to finish him off. Good luck to anyone else struggling with this boss.

This boss in dream of nioh difficulty is harder than all dark souls 3 bosses.
I know that too much charging from that boss is so annoying but we have to admit it guys, the main problem of that boss is not the charging but the too massive HP of him.
Just beat him. Lightning rally helps, as it slow down enemy moves. Especially Guardian spirit talisman, if your guardian uses lightning element and it deals lot of KI DMG.
Break the tusks. It will reduce his moveset by quite a large margin
I got the platinum trophy for the first game and while I am enjoying this one, I find its so damn cheap in its difficulty at times. Rather than just being hard it will have crappy places for you to fight with obstacles in the way or just spamming long range enemies while you are dealing with a big enemy etc.
End up having to take breaks from this as it just pisses me off after a while.
His back is weak, too. Much more reliable than the tusks.
Yeah, I wished they pointed that out too. Just throw a weakness talisman and high stance with like 2-3 quick attacks will knock his health down a great deal. Also be sure to roll out of the way, because chance is he'll do that chain spiral move if you don't.
Took me five hours to kill the boss. Play with poisonous ninja build and I just found out I should poison him in the dark realm, otherwise his rage will eliminate the ailment status from normal to dark realm.
this boss took an eternity
Wasn't difficult with just one spell -- Firestop talisman. I literally used no spells other than that, basically makes his dark realm a piece of cake as you take zero fire damage. As for his grab, I always hoped for it because it became easy to dodge and punish for me.
