    plz answer this question anyone. As law of momentum is never conserved in case of swinging pendulum but what if we provide a costant force to pendulum that it never stops completely. Is the law hence valid.

    Its interesting how you say the exhaust pushes a rocket forward. So what does the exhaust push off of in the vacuum of space? where there is a pressure of 10 -7 torr (at the ISS)

    • @matthewbell9119
      @matthewbell9119 Před 3 lety +4

      The exhaust is pushed out of the rocket, and Newton's 3rd law states that the exhaust pushes back on the rocket with he same force. Air/atmosphere is not required for the rocket to be pushed forward.

    what happens if the object stops? Will the momentum be destroyed? Because momentum is mass in motion with velocity right?

    • @desmondjackhammer9600
      @desmondjackhammer9600 Před 3 lety +1

      momentum cant be destroyed. it can only be a lot or little. if the object stops the momentum is 0. because there is no velocity. momentum= mass x velocity. so the mass of the object multiplied by the velocity which is 0, in this case, (because its not moving, which means it has no velocity, which means the velocity is 0), is equal to 0.
      Basically no velocity means no momentum.

      @calebmullan4593 Před 3 lety

      If it slows down at all that means some momentum has been transferred - for example if the skaters in the video slow to a stop, it's because of friction, which is their momentum transferring to the particles of the ground.

  • @mahkhan3157
    @mahkhan3157 Před 2 lety

    Sہ does it mean when we are talking about conservation of momentum in the collision we actually ignore all the external forces and then there is just one perfect isolated system (universe) and all other are just imaginary?

  • @pming7264
    @pming7264 Před 3 lety

    In the 2nd ball, why didnt all the momentum get transferred to the blue striped ball? Why did the cue ball retain some of its momentum

    Let's say you have a 1 kg mass moving to the right at 20 m/s that collides with a stationary 2 kg mass and bounces off to move to the left at 10 m/s with the 2 kg mass moving to the right at 5 m/2. The time of collision is the same for both masses, but the net force is different since the impulse or change in momentum on the 2 kg mass is 10 kg*m/s and the impulse or change in momentum on the 1 kg mass is -30 kg*m/s. How does this figure or how is momentum conserved with the momentum lost by the 1 kg mass not being equal with the momentum gained by the 2 kg mass? How can the net forces be different?

    first u say m1v1 + m2v2 = m1v1 + m2v2
    so basically m1v1 + m2v2 right? then later again you say m1v1 = m2v2. when i refer to another video (WHICH WASS 100% BETTER THAN THIS ONE) he said m1u1 + m2u2 = m1v1 + m2u2 with clear definitions and steps. you have totally confused me. thank you :(

    but what about your hand? isn't that which create the momentum?

  • @faizannaqvi5473
    @faizannaqvi5473 Před 2 lety

    Why you said momentum can't be created but momentum can be created by applying force on a bodyyy and by applying force the body will be in motion it gains some moments which will be equal to the applied force

    • @retyboi
