That's a great way of thinking and it's actually working out for you. It's a bit disappointing that people don't seem to care or think about quality when uploading the majority of videos. I.e. they don't bother to cut out the boring parts, or don't pay attention to sound quality (external mike, wind protection) etc. Basic things that would make the videos better 10 times! Well maybe it's good in a way as it helps the quality material stand out from the rest. It just gets a little frustrating when you're searching youtube for something cool to see/ hear and bump into hundreds of mediocre vids. Keep up the good work bro! And nice bimmer btw!

That's a really incredible difference on the back side/ inside of the wheel.
I love using the cans of foaming tire spray to clean off my rims. It is amazing how it eats through all of the grease and grime that stick to the rims. Usually, I give it a good spray before going through a car wash. It's the easiest and most mess free way of cleaning the tires!

I had really dirty wheels on a 2003 Honda CRV. I tried other cleaners but Sonax Plus did the job for me. I had to spray twice and rub a little. Thanks for the videos.

What would you use to clean chrome wheels?
Yeah, this was a great vid! Just bought a 2003 lesabre and in all the inlays of the rim, there's a almost baked in layer of surface rust in the alloy wheels. Is this a good product for cleaning that? Does it eat clearcoat? How long to let it soak? Thank you!

I've tried and tested various wheel cleaners, they do an okay job but sometimes when I want a quick wash and really dont want to get all my tools and bucker I just use Sonax, I only buy the large 5 litre size and its best value for money. It cleans great, wonderful results and really does the job.

I won't be a jokester as below. I am fully satisfied. It worked for me. There are a number of youtube vids out there on this. Mine were black and I used this twice on the front and almost no scrubbing. I am sold and need to buy another for another day.

that wheel is not that old.why not try it on a really old alloy wheel you know maybe one from a scrapyard.
and yet..i still bet he end up using the whole bottle on 1 wheel...
And there is the issue. Its good stuff but expensive. I have had wheels much dirtier than those and while sonax worked I went through almost 2 bottles to clean them.
Stephan Zajac Rinse it off first. Very properly. After that, wash them by hand (washmitt). After you've done all four, do a new round, starting with the first one again. Meanwhile: don't rinse them off. You only do that in the end, when you're completely done. The soap (shampoo, or wheel spray) needs time to work in, you see. Give it time, don't rush it. Too many people make the mistake to be in a hurry. They want it to be done fast. Take your time. Very important. I clean very dirty wheels in 15-20 minutes. What also helps: use a very little sponge (an old used one, not too dirty). Use it in your second round. You will see that the dirt will come off very easily.

Was that brake dust caked in? Like rubbed your finger and it wouldn’t come off? Also did you need to use a brush to get it off or did it just come off with the spray alone?

Have you ever used wheel acid I'm a put Fessional detailer I use it all the time sprayed it on I have a 13 hp pressure cleaner comes clean it even takes the rust out it's amazing stuff but leave it on the wheel for a few minutes too long it'll edge the wheel and ruin them
btw, i think you should have de-tar it with some tar remover and then sprayed Iron X over it to get any other iron fillings, then I would clay the wheel before waxing and sealing it.

For my wheels I just use dawn and through on a good coat of wax.
Those wheels are cleaner than my wheels are after only a week! The rear of my wheels haven't been cleaned in years.

The wheels on my Jeep are extremely dirty as well. Sonax and Degreaser hasn't done the trick. What would you recommend? Specifically the inside of the wheel I want to clean up like you did and seal them so brake dust doesn't stick as much.
As a last resort, you could try oven cleaner, but be careful because it can permanently damage the paint if you leave it on too long. I would only use it on the inside part that people won't see. There are videos on youtube of people using it and it works well, just be careful because it can cause damage to the paint

Does it smell like nasty iron X? Was that caked in in brake dust? Does it need to be applied in a dry or wet wheel?
This was my first time ever cleaning the inside of these wheels so the brake dust was baked on. It has a strong chemical smell, but not skunky like iron x. I apply it when the wheel is dry so the water doesnt dilute it

Turns out the spots were actually aluminum corrosion that had come through the paint. I had to take them off with a wire wheel and repaint.
