    Thanks for posting, I have an old 270 as well as an old 280, that need the reed plates to be removed. I'll then drill out the rivet holes and replace with small screws. This seems like the best way to get the riveted plates off.

      Mine in my Seydel Bandmaster Chromatic are not rivets, they are nails. Rivets would be easier to drill out. Even after removing the heads the shafts would still be just as stuck tightly

    Why is it that these seem to crack at about the same hole? Aren't the combs supposed to be sealed against moisture? Mine does not appear to be.
