People don’t understand how good KSU was that year . I personally felt like if they was in another conference we would have played them in the nc game … KSU prob second best team in the nation that year .
This was my favorite game to watch... I thought beating Fexas in that way was great, but this win in Bill Snyder's house made me believe this team was great!!!! The best play that game was that slip screen to Curtis Fagan for his first TD of the season!! But OU's defense was amazing the entire year. I love watching OU 2000 just for that. Imagine having Brent Venables and Mike Stoops as D Coordinators and all that talent!
This was the day I remember it all changed. The day we realized the Texas game wasn’t just a fluke… The Nebraska game was after this… Texas A&M and OSU nearly defeated OU later that year.
With all this COVID I think I’ve watched every one of these old games - weird how hard it is to watch the 80’s games with all that running- already acclimated to the throw it around game..oh n thanks the for the eight is enough blurb around 2:00 mark- lol - have enjoyed it
Watching OU games for Bob Stoops. I wish him as good of a time in the rest of his life as he had at OU. His retirement announcement just plain shocked me, but I guess when your passion for life exceeds that of football, it's time to leave and that's what I got from what he said.
Listen to one of the commentator's "Oh no!" at 1:34:32. I remember this being the year I woke up to the fact that the sports media didn't like the Sooners and would usually go against them. But man, was that season absolutely magical!
How I miss Oklahoma teams like this. Particularly on defense when they were so physical. Josh Heupel, the best OU quarterback of them all by far and didn't win the Heisman. How rigged.
I was there too TheBlackScyth, sitting in the student section of K-state as my nephew went there and got me the ticket. You bet I had my OU gear on and you are right, they were rockin!!!!
killcasualfan killcasualfan if you think that's ridiculous what do you think of the upcoming Big 12 championship game? The reason they played it when there were 12 teams is because you had the possibility of 2 teams going undefeated in the conference because they didn't play each team. Now it will be pointless. Just imagine if the 1st place team goes undefeated in conference play and the 2nd place team has 2 or 3 conference losses.
SEC SEC SEC bullcrap was nowhere to be found in this era. Too bad the XII didn't stick together.
This game is still one of the best OU wins of all time.
this was classic. that 2000 year was just magical

Agree with this, except Mike was trash. Rode brothers coattails all the way to Nick Saban's school for coaches who don't coach so good.
The loudest gameday experience was when K-State blocked that punt. That place was amazing that day. Glad my Sooners survived!
I've been to many games at the bill over the years. I've never heard it louder then it was when we blocked that punt and took it in for a touchdown.

That was the year deemed, “Red October” for OU.
even though Kansas State lost this game it was a classic.......that is the loudest I have ever heard a Kansas State crowd...I know I was there.
MM
Me too. It was wild. Only thing bad was we didn’t win the ballgame
I’m the guy at the 2:23:48 mark holding my head with my left hand wearing the white shirt
I miss these football days,.

Man the Cats had some beasts back then....Johnathan Beasley only qb to win back to back bowl games for KSU
I'm a diehard Sooner fan and I hated to play Snyders Wildcats then and now. He knows how to build a powerhouse team.
just like this season!
@@TylerMcComb18 was always very consistent. played sound fundamentals.
Damn sec is still dominating but the 12 was no joke in the early 2000s.

Heard he was forced out due for some unknown reason? Just saying.

Stoops played under Snyder at Iowa.

OU went on to win the NC. If they had a better running game, there's no telling how many points they could have scored.
Red October Part 2/3
I was terrified at the beginning of this game. Still on a high from Texas but always afraid of snyder.
Ridiculous OU had to play and beat them again in the Big12 championship that year after this huge win!

@@TheJasonJackson84 Agreed.
Hurts looks so much like Jonathan Beasley from Kansas state.
I hope u can get the next game as well
big 12 had a great bowl record this year didn't they?
Memorial Stadium has nothing on BSFS
