Yes typically there would be different stages, usually 3, on a slide switch that would each have set functions on at that stage. They would progress from a few lights/ functions to all vehicle lighting/ functions on. That way they would have less lights going when just sitting then say when running code somewhere.

Something seems funky with that arrowstick controller, perhaps your power supply is screwing it up or it's on its way out?
