  • Welcome back guys, its been a while!
The engine is out of project mr2 but we are far from back to normal service I'm afraid so you'll have to wait a little longer to see the black mr2 project start...
in the mean time, check out the socials to keep up to speed with all of the other things that are happening and grab yourself some bits from the merch store on the website.

I bet his name is Neil Jones, the most important guy in the mk1 community.

I’ve missed films like this! I did enjoy watching! especially the start up after a year, though it would, its a Toyota so people tell me! The smell is good, fills my garage all the time. Great to see two car surgeons back at work again!

Had to drop 3 of these engines in my time (one out of my first written off JDM Super Charger) which then went into 2 different N/A bodies (one after the other not at the same time) so in total that's 4 drops - sc engine dropped twice na engines out twice and 2 refits of the sc engine into N/A bodies (+ the many SC model ancillaries which differ from the N/A... from wiring loom to gauges to throttle cable/rear lights/engine lid inc release catch/cable..) quite the project but the mk1 MR2 is such a beauty, esp super charged, that it's often felt more like fun than a chore... even doing it all alone (and until that first go back in 2001... with no prior experience)
Look FWD to the resto of the black model!

Sounds like you’ve done a fair few more than me!
I’ve never had the opportunity to drive an SC.
Thanks, not long to go now…

Good to see the engine was running and is now out at least - looking forward to seeing the work on the black beastie as and when. Quick question - what dollies are you using and can you recommend them? I need to get a set for mine and want to make sure they won't just crumple when you try to move the car as some have been reported to do. Look like they could be Clarke ones you're using here? Thanks! 👍

You are correct, they are Clarke. I’ve moved that car loads on them and they have been fine so far so would recommend them.

Much more straightforward on the roadster, drop the motor and box together on the deck, then push the body out the way..

Mk3? I’ve heard you can unbolt every panel. What’s the engine like to drive? I’m tempted by one….
