- This past weekend my band Hemotoxin played with Chris Reiferts band Violation Wound. Chris recorded drums for Deaths debut in 1987 Scream Bloody Gore. So to celebrate being in the room with someone who influenced me so much I asked Chris to join us for a cover of Evil Dead. Chris had never played that song live until this night, it was truly a special moment for me and all Death fans across the world, and especially for those in attendance because this may never happen again! Thank you Chris!!

None of us ever had a chance to practice the song, Chris Reifert himself hadn’t played the song in over 30 years. So the fact that this even happened to begin with is a miracle in itself and it was an honor for us regardless of how we had to get it together in order for the song to work, we made it happen.

Chris actually didn’t want to to do it until right before we played our set. We had no time for rehearsal, only time to give people something special in the moment.

@@petru4335 yeah man Donnie isn’t apart of the normal line up, this was his first time jamming with us ever. Also our bass player didn’t even know the song and transcribed it on the spot on a bass tuned a half step up. None of us knew this was gonna actually happen until right before we started our set and Chris agreed to play the cover, so you can keep bitching about our performance or enjoy this once in a lifetime moment, your choice 🤷♂️
What a bad intro
It was super impromptu, Chris up until this point hadn't played Evil Dead since he recorded it. Plus Donnie hopped on last minute to complete the sound. It was just something special I wanted to do for the live audience but also knew was gonna be something death fans would wanna see.
@@Hemotoxin thanks for the explanation, i love this song and have seen many live performance on youtube i only was a little bit worried about the intro, the rest of the song is good. This and Zombie ritual are my fav songs from Death. Have a nice day.
