  • How to diagnose No Spark on Honda GX / Clone engine. On the bench today I've got a Predator 212, Honda clone engine that had a random no spark issue. It would run for a while and then all of a sudden stop sparking, but now it doesn't spark at all. In this video I will go over everything I did on the ignition system to Verify continuity on the kill switch and measuring resistance on the Primary and secondary coil.

    We have hurricane Ian heading towards us in Tampa Florida and of course my brand new generator wouldn't start right out of the box. I saw the spark plug had no spark. I didn't know what all of the wires did until I watched your video. I disconnected the oil sensor and on/off switch like you suggested and it started right up! (Yes, I put the bottle of oil they send and the level is good). I don't know which was the problem but it runs great now. You really saved my family. Thank you so much!

    What’s the R R way in determining what’s wrong with a machine that won’t run. Do u have certain things u check first, second etc. I start with fuel in the tank (fresh). Then I do the spray carburetor cleaner in the air filter to see if it has spark. If it hits at all that means u have spark- timing-compression etc. is that correct???

    Total beginner here. Trying to figure out why my dewalt power washer has no spark. It could only be an ignition system problem correct?
    So I disconnected the low oil sensor, no spark. I disconnected the kill wire, still no spark.
    Basically the kill wire grounds the spark if the oil is low correct? Is that why the low oil sensor connects with it?

    • @TheRustyRooster
      @TheRustyRooster  Před 2 lety +2

      You are correct. Did you disconnect the kill wire that is attached directly to the coil and test? If so and you had no spark test the coil itself as well as the sparkplug boot. Good luck

      I also wanted to ask, when we use a multimeter for these kinds of tests, what is it that we are checking for? Continuity?
      Also, about the on and off switch, I saw someone using it by testing the on switch and it showed no indication, but by testing the off switch it did indicate stuff and I was a little confused by it.
