This is a new edit of my old SU-35S video from Le Bourget 2013.
These flights were really special for me as it was the first time that I saw the SU-35 with my own eyes. Nowadays I have better means of video stabilization and edition in terms of software so I thought it'd be a good idea to rescue this footage and re-upload it in better quality.

This flight was truly a work of art by legendary test pilot and Hero of the Russian Federation, Sergey Bogdan (Сергей Богдан).
This flight demonstration was performed at the 50th edition of the Paris International Air and Space Salon in 2013 at Le Bourget airport.
The Sukhoi Su-35 (Сухой Су-35; NATO reporting name: Flanker-E) is the designation for two separate, heavily-upgraded derivatives of the Su-27 air-defence fighter. They are twin-engine, single-seater, highly-maneuverable fighter aircraft, designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and built by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association.
The first variant was designed during the 1980s as an upgrade of the Su-27, and was initially known as the Su-27M. This derivative made use of canards and had a multi-function radar that transformed the aircraft into a multi-role fighter jet. It was also structurally reinforced to support its heavier weight. The first prototype made its maiden flight in June 1988. The aircraft did not enter mass production at the time due to the collapse of the Soviet Union and therefore Sukhoi re-designated the aircraft later on as Su-35 to attract export orders. At the same time, the fourteen aircraft initially produced were used for tests and exhibitions; one example had thrust-vectoring engines installed, and the resultant Su-37 was used as a technology demonstrator. A sole two-seat trainer was also built in the late 1990s under the designation SU-35UB that strongly resembled the Su-30MK family.
In 2003, Sukhoi embarked on a second modernization of the Su-35 to serve as an interim aircraft awaiting the development of the Sukhoi PAK-FA (Su-57, previously T-50) program. Also known as Su-35, this derivative had a redesigned and highly modernized cockpit as well as an improved weapons-control system, it also featured thrust-vectoring engines (AL-41F1S, formerly AL-117S) in place of the omitted canards. The airbrake was gone and it used aerodynamic rudder brakes. The type made its first flight in February 2008. Although the aircraft was designed for export, the Russian Air Force in 2009 became the launch customer of the aircraft, the production version of which is the currently designated Su-35S. China's People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is the sole foreign customer of the aircraft so far but other countries are reportedly in discussions with Russia about the possible purchase of the Su-35, among which is Indonesia, whose government is expected to sign a contract in the near future.

Je suis subjugué par ce SU27 (SU35) incroyablement manoeuvrable. Ce jet Russe est en plus incroyablement beau avec son esthétique à la fois agressive, sexy et bestiale. J'en suis fou et étourdi tellement cet avion de chasse est magnifique, définitivement le plus majestueux actuellement. Design plus magistral que l'antique F14 Tomcat et que le F15 Eagle. Le pilote fait corps admirablement bien avec sa "bête". Les avions de chasse à "Vladimir" sont les meilleurs. J'adore aussi le Mig29. S'il fallait matérialiser en un avion, le somptueux Death Metal Suèdois c'est ce jet époustouflant à bien des égards que je choisirais. Un grand merci à la personne qui a filmée.

It looks like russians didn't pay attention, while physics education at school ! Or they ignore physical forces ! The only explanation of what they are able to do with their planes! Respect of russian development.
The Su 35 has thrust vector control and can thus perform seemingly impossible flight maneuvers. The thrust / weight ratio is also looking for its equal. Ciao Hans.

@@epicnavigator The fuel system consists of four tanks (three in the fuselage and center wing and one in the wing consoles), two additional tanks in the keels, pumps for pumping and pumping fuel, fuel-flow equipment and refueling systems in flight. The capacity of the front fuselage fuel tank-compartment (tank # 1) - 4020 l, center tank-compartment (tank # 2) - 5330 l, rear fuselage tank-compartment (tank # 3) - 1350 l, wing tanks-compartments (tank # 4) - 1990 l, keel tanks - 360 l. the Total fuel capacity in the internal tanks is about 13000 l (10250 kg with a fuel density of 0.785).

@jazzupnow1 - I imagine the dislikes aren't for the Su-35's amazing gravity defying maneuvers, but rather the horrendous camerawork that ruined the video. For me, the final sophomoric moment was when the cameraman decided to pan away in the middle of the Su-35's aerobatic routine at 6:48 to follow a taxiing [C-130?]. OUCH!!! I simply had to stop the video at that point. Yep, "amazing piloting skills and a great performance" but ruined by the 'cameraman'. Oh well.

You are right! Saudi Arabs can have the best fighter plane in the world and still cannot overcome the inability and incompetence of an Arabic pilot. The Indian Air Force got some pretty good planes but they will find ways to crash them before they can get into battles.

Yes! It makes you wonder why the West has so much trouble developing there Control Laws. The Russians don't seem to have any trouble at all from day one even on there First Flights. The SU57 was amazing how it flew on its first Test Flight then within months it was flying like a mature Aircraft. If you compare the first Flights of the F35 they were shaky. Even years into development they were still flying the F35 like a relatively new Prototype. There Engines not flaming out is a big advantage with all these fancy low speed manoeuvres but Russian software developers and aeronautical engineers have to have a Secret they are not sharing.
@@skippy5712 I'm sure there were problems with the Su-57. Its just our government tells us the half truth and the Russian government doesn't tell the truth at all most of the time when it comes to accidents. One of the prototype Su-57's literally had an engine fire after it landed back in 2014.
I like russian planes too, but no military project goes smoothly without trial and error, and with a lot of money.

I said specifically they obviously have had no problems Writing Control Laws for an inherently unstable Aircraft.
No crashes. No shaky take off and landings like with the F22.
The F22 was so unstable to start with they had one crash and it took a long time to get it to fly stably.
Same with the F35. Very shaky to start with. Years and years before it did much more than take off fly level and land.
I was specific.
What I was asking is how did they get a new Aircraft that is inherently unstable to fly very well within months of its first flight. Its first flight also was very stable even if they did nothing spectacular.
GO Avro Arrow, Go Canada , sorry 'yanks' paid to have them destroyed, until the sr-71 came 1962 Canada could have been 1st mach 3 jet ( for 3-4 yrs.). Honestly su-35 for circus dogfight flipping Would give it the world Gold 🏅 medal

In a dogfight, the Su-35 has an advantage. Everywhere else (Radar, stealth, data fusion) the Raptor is miles ahead.

Even the F15 has the capability to shoot down another plane without a dog fight. The Raptor is a much more lethal plane than the F15. The Su35 is definitely an engineering marvel in flying with agility but the main goal of a fighter plane is to knock out other planes. I certainly hope that the Raptors don't have to shoot down anybody but if needed, the Raptor is the ultimate fighter.

Хоть и старое видео и смотрю не впервые, но всё равно потрясающе 35ка буквально на месте делает боевой разворот, экономя золотые секунды для ухода от ракеты или для принятия мгновенной атаки, классное преимущество.. полет спокойный без лишней суеты.. а вы заметили какой разбег при взлёте был (как-будто) с места в небо.. завораживает, а таких добротных 4++ уже около 200 шт! не бравада, а гордость! не суйтесь к нам, не надо!!!

And which US fighter is this supposed to be a copy of? The US has 0 fighters that are arched that way or have engines bottom of the fuselage instead of on the sides, aside from the F-16, but that couldn't be further from being anything like this jet.

Totally reccommend it... I was thriving on youtube videos of the thing until I got to see it for myself back in 2013 at Le Bourget (this video precvisely) and it was such an amazing moment and experience. Now I go to MAKS every two years to keep enjoying the show! :D

After all Paris was and is where all art finds home,...I know, I am from New York city, artist, yet my hope is ,to show my art in Paris!
I was kind of bummed though when I visited Paris... people talk so much about 'La cité de l'amour', all the romanticism and so on... and what I found was streets that smelled of pee due to the uneducated people urinating in the public way, very small flats that are ultra expensive... I don't know. For me, it didn't live up to its name. Similar thing with Rome... they have an amazing historic architechtonic legacy and they let it rot. Everything is so dirty because of city pollution... and also the newer buildings, everything is blackened because they didn't bother to use their money to keep it clean. Don't want to spoil your illusion, it's still a great place to visit but to me, its romanticism is quite dead. Let's say I found Moscow or Saint Petersburg way more 'romantic'. ;)

+Pierre LOfiNuSound, I just talk about what I've seen. Of course, my experience is limited but that doesn't mean it is worthless. First of all, I don't know why would you feel offended unless you are urinating on the public way yourself. Didn't say it was the french either. But I've been to a lot of countries and many, MANY cities, very populated ones and also cities that atract a lot of tourists and didn't find any of them to have quite a problem with that as Paris did. If it's the damned tourists or locals, or the public services not doing their job, I honestly don't have a clue, but that's not really relevant. I know what I saw and what I smelled, there, and in other places. I never said French are primitive nor living in the dirt, that all came from you. I only voiced my concern that the 'romaticism' of the French capital is dead to me for a number of reasons. I am not insulting french people (Not willingly at least). I didn't see such poverty problems either, sure they are there but not so visible as in other cities. One way or another, the pee that I smelled didn't come from pets. That was humans peeing in the streets. Again, don't know if it's french or foreigners to blame, I wasn't asking, but it was disgusting.

I think CZcams actively hinders my views.
The best example is my 'big' video flying the FPV Su-35.
I published it, and after a year the views blew up to like 1.5M... then they quickly died off as fast as they came.
It is clear to me from this and other experiences that when 'the Algorithm' gives exposure to my videos, many of them have the potential for millions of views, yet they 'artificially' die down. Guess I'm not on the 'right side' for them to like my content so much they want to promote me a lot. ( :

@@ph390 Smaller airframe doesn't neceseary make an aircraft more agile, it simply makes them having less wingload at high aspect manuvers and thus conserving the aircraft energy during the engagement, plus, the rafale has a delta wings design that makes it less agile during a low energy close range dogfight, simply saying that the Sukhois were design for supermanuverabilty and the rafale wasn't, and also the fact that the dassault burenau has never made any statement about stealth technology being implemented in the rafale airframe.

Light Work the SU-57 is unproven and has inferior technology to the F-22 which is an 80’s design. Russia will always be behind the US, the age of dogfighting is over, US fighters aren’t built to dogfight solely anymore because it’s not needed.
Light Work Sukhoi was never better, they are fantastic stunt planes but an F-22 would blow it out of the sky from miles away. The primitive Russian radar and old fashioned Lyulka engines will appear like the red light district on radar.
Light Work the US have aircraft we don’t even know about, things that are far superior to anything Russia could produce. The TR3B probably exists.

After a long time watching some videos from various airshows, there still ain't any other aircraft than Su-27 that can perform such a "dancing with wind" movements. It is elegance, it does maneuvers no other aircraft can do, it still has the highest instantaneous and sustained turn rate, it can point its nose faster than any other aircraft to any direction, yet it is not limited to any of these but it can accelerate quickly to high speeds for maximum performance when needed etc.
The other western aircrafts are just clumsy, odd and "on the rails" like aircrafts that are built by the specs and not for combat.
The thrust vectoring MiG-29 and J-10 are very good as well in that regard ;)

F-15 is kinda nice jet as well, but as for me, THIS one exactly should be named "Eagle" or "Fighting Falcon", cuz only THIS one can perform all those sexy aerobatic things which early could be seen in holliwood specs or game cinematics only.
If F-22 will just try to repeat some of that ballet... spin at once...

That day the main feature of the day used to be Thunderbirds team training flights, performed by two of their best pilots... Well, it seems like someone in "high levels" decided to try whether they can switch airshow between F-16 and F-22.
And they cannot. These two thunderbird guys almost crashed those damn raptors, because when SU performs managed spin, any other jet fails to unmanaged. I dunno exactly, where`s the heck of the problem - some says that american jets indoctrinated to be not that good in aerodynamics, but there`s some special "opinions" in USAF training stuff, according to which both manned and unmanned components of USAF doctrine is oriented to "push the button" principles. Push the damn button, and hardware will do the rest and bring you all the glory... In these circumstances pentagon and USAF supreme fags sincerely believe that they have no need to build manuevrable endurant jets or train super-skilled pilots, since "push the button" doctrine is being applying to everything: jets, missiles, tanks... impregnation process...

As for the controlled spin, I would say that the most problematic issue there for the Raptor is that its thrust vectoring can only work on plane 2 axis, pitch and roll, which are almost helpless on a spin. On the other hand, the Sukhois have the nozzles axis tilted so that when they roll they also induce a yawing moment. That helps control the aircraft MUCH better in these kind of scenarios, whether to start yawing motions or to stop them :)

This demo is fun to watch, but not representing the real world. Every pilot that will end up in a dog fight screwed up. No one wants to end in that position,... US, Russian, Chinese,... no one. You want to exploit the range that you have with your weapon systems. And talking about modern dog fights, if you end up in one,.. hobs (high off bore sight) missiles, like the aim 9x icw helmet mounted sights, makes pulling g’s and awesome manoeuvres quite useless. Su-35/F-15 etc etc can pull max 9 g’s. Maybe 10 if you override.... hobs missiles can take 50/70g’s.
Still an awesome aircraft though!
