These videos are for instructional purposes only. If you have a problem that is not covered in one of my videos, please visit a marine mechanic or a forum (iBoats is a good one) and post your problem for help there. As much as I would like to help people on an individual basis, I just don't have the time.

No, drive MUST be off to do the alignment.... And yes the drive will go back on with the alignment incorrect. If you leave it like that, you WILL be removing the entire engine to replace the engine coupler....

I had my drive changed and the mechanic afterwards told me is not aligned, can it be align with the drive already on, I mean can it be done through the motor mounts? If installed the drive already could that mean that it's on alignment, for him to have had it put on? I do'nt if it was out of alignment how can then be put back? how can it be out of alignment if he got it in?

If your mechanic re-installed the drive with the engine alignment incorrect, find a new mechanic. All he's done there is ensure you come back in a few months with a blown coupler and a several thousand dollar repair job.... Adjusting the alignment is a 15 minute job. Replacing the coupler is a full day (or longer)...
