I felt so stupid looking up this video. But after a couple of minutes, I finally got it.
I almost boxed it back up to send back. So frustrated. I gave it one more shot and voila. It sits literally a centimeter off the base. Earlier I had my face too close and when it moon jumped smacked me in nose. This is day four off getting irritated and stopping. You definitely need to persevere . The comments helped too as I know I’m not the only one that can’t get it to balance. Keep trying. It’s a cool lamp and feature.

I thought I forgot how to balance it, then I got it, but realized that it was broken, it was flickery and didn't rotate like it did. But your tutorial still helped, thank you.
Edit: it was the power cable that was garbage, I got it fixed now.
What a frustrating nightmare this thing is only had it working once feel like stamping on the dam thing.

Got mine today. Took me ages to do it. Thought it was going to break cuz kept whacking on the base. Just don’t let go whatever you do until you feel the pulling towards the sides disappear. Like with anything else, I expect it to get easier in time 😅

I have one of these and I loved it but how come it will only spend clockwise, if I start it counterclockwise it stops?
a lamp that did both light up even for a second
I managed to get it to work once. So far though even with the power on, it rejects the attempts to center. Taunts me with each very loud clack as the magnet yanks it to the side with a rather sudden impact. I'm wondering if this thing needs to warm up or something before the magnet starts working properly.
The one in the video works as soon as its turned on, but there is certainly a knack to it. Sometimes I'll get it on first time, sometimes I need a few go's.

@@robertwilsoniii2048 Mine has to warm up before I can use it unfortunately. but beyond that it stays functional nonstop unless the power cuts out and I forget that it makes a loud sound when loosing power.

All tips I have are in the video. It can take a bit of practice, sometimes I do it first time, sometimes I need a couple of go's. Getting frustrated will certainly make it harder so the O ly extra tip I'd have is to step back for 5 minutes and approach it again when not frustrated. Good luck!

Yeah I had it work once. Now no matter what I do, it doesn't work. It yanks to the side EVERY TIME.
Does it light up automatically? Or it needs to be dim to see if glow?
Lights up automatically, best seen in a low light environment.

I have had great luck by making a cardboard template the size of the base and cut a 7/8" diameter in the center and tape the template to the base. Then you just move the moon over the template and the magnetic field locates the center of the moon instantly. For me actually I made a template out of a piece of 1/8" thick paneling. I keep it on hand and it works every time first time.

It should light up when nearing the correct position over the base, assuming you've turned the base on.

Here's my issue once the bulb blows out you can't replace it. 50-60$ Down the Drain. Can you replace the bulb after it dies?
I don't think so, the moon appears to be a sealed item.
Sometimes it aligns perfectly with no hassle and sometimes I spend near 10 minutes trying to align the damn thing😅

You left out the most important step where you give up and either 1) return this for a refund, 2) throw it in the trash out of frustration. Floating this thing is similar to doing the "Rope Ladder Climb" at the State Fair. In my case, this was a gift so I had to make it work. My only suggestions are to get down at eye level (like your video) and just keep moving it around with both hands until the pull downward from the magnets disappears and the globe lights up. Maybe grab a cool drink and prepare to spend up to the next 30 minutes trying to get it to float
I literally spent hours multiple times a day to get this damn thing to float. I decided it wasn't worth it, I trashed this peace of shittt.
How moon get power for lamp ?
The base has a mains power cable connected to it.
Just like the moon if the moon visibly wobbled constantly.
When the power goes out the moon hits the floor
