- We finally have a good looking replica of the original Big Gold.
While not perfect, it is easily the best BG replica out there and I doubt we will see a better one.
Obviously there are real belt makers who can make more accurate ones but from a replica $800 price tag, this is pretty damn good.

Finally pulled the trigger on the All gold black strap version of this belt. I've got a dual plated CS Premium but also wanted the all gold one used in the mid 90's by WCW. As much as I love love love the dual plated on the Cordovan brown strap, the version that I remember was always the all gold on a black strap. poor TV quality being the standard in the mid 90's I didn't even know that the strap was once brown until much later in life.
I now have a detour devoted to the evolution of the Big gold, from Domed Globe to Crumrine, to WCW world title to the all Gold one with the black strap that ended up at WWE.
For a replica, it looks exceptional.
I agree we are unlikely to see anything better for this price point.

That may come but it depends on how these sell. The dual plated version is far more popular than all gold, so if this wasn't to sell well, there's be no point in putting out a gold version.
Update. They now have an all gold luxe edition.

I grabbed the all gold v3 big gold and the dual luxe. Best of both worlds. I think fandu knocked it out the park. Every belt they offer has been nothing short of stunning

I have the Fandu version 3 and it was pretty cool and I knew what I was getting into from the get go. This is a big step up for a replica and for me it's up for consideration. Great review, great belt.

Amazing detail for a replica. Fandu definitely stepped up their game up. The rope border pops nicely. Overall a must have if you can not afford the classic shields or TRB version. A+ review as always

Three things I think would make this replica better in my opinion...
1. The diamond in the crown is plated silver
2. The clear jewels in the crown are square instead of small and round
3. The lettering is either just a TINY bit wider or just a TINY bit closer together in horizontal spacing
This is a VERY solid option from Fandu. If I had the money I would definitely pick one up for myself, though I’m more than perfectly happy with my gunmetal and antique finished Fandus. 😁

I'm considering getting one of these just to spray paint NWO onto it. Just like you mentioned you have, I also have a premium Crumrine on order with CS. There is no way I'd deface something as beautiful as the CS premium Crumrine with spray paint, nor would I deface something that cost me as much as it has lol. I think this Fandu is a great alternative for the purpose of having a second Crumrine in my collection that I wouldn't mind spray painting NWO on lol.

Nice I have the dual plated v3 fandu and I can see the difference with the dual plated on both belts the new one the silver bit is flat and doesnt pop the v3 it sparkles under the light subtle difference but still a very nice belt

After tossing back and forth between the Luxe and either an ORM or CS 3d cast BG, I placed my order for the all gold variant tonight of the Luxe tonight! Can't wait till it gets here. Will be doing a review of it myself where I run it up against the old Fandu V3 and the WWE 2mm Big Gold.

I was thinking of getting a fandu big gold for a while, I’m so glad I waited because this new one blows the old one out of the water in my opinion. I’m still on the fence though on whether to get this or wait, save up and go for the classic shields .

Do you think we'll ever get a the famous dented top bit version of the belt. For me if I could get a fandu even a legit crumrine if they did the dented version.
Do you like the streamlined plates in comparison to the original crumrine? You know how another company could come in and sorta tummy tuck the original and some people might say it looks better. I had a mini big gold, it was a bracelet and the grapplers were mirrored so they were not all wrestling to the right and I thought it looked really good. And if Crumrine would have mirrored the grapplers on the original I think that would have made a lot of sense.
I actually prefer the texturing on the Fandu over the CS version. It just creates a more uniform look all-around.
Any idea if the price comes down to the gbp which is around £560 to the price on the all gold $749 one. Or does it just cost £749 as well. The reason I ask is because I got an aew plus membership for $4.99 and it didn't covert to gpb and just cost £4.99. I bought a fandu big gold over 4 years ago and can't remember if it changed or didn't.
Really good looking belt
For a replica, it easily beats the gold painted pancake flat big gold on wweshop. If fandu ever has a sale on this belt, or sells an imperfect variant, I'm gonna pick one up. Although it's not 100% accurate to the real thing, it's a great budget alternative to the CS, TRB, or Millican cast version.
I used to have a 1999 Figures Inc Big Gold with those paper thin stamped plates. Ugh!! I sold mine over 11 years ago. My son still has his.
The only thing I don't like about this belt is that the side plates are too big and don't fit evenly with how the main plate ends. Other than that, Fandu did a great job on this belt. Thanks for the review Hazard

I have one coming. I already have the $300 all gold version however the center plate is slightly smaller. Does this Luxe version have a slightly larger center plate? I was told it did.
The two Luxe versions are the same size as best I know. Their normal 3D one is smaller
Does the main plate still have the "bowl" shape the original Fandus did and are the snaps the standard line 24 snaps or are they the smaller snaps that the original Fandus had as well?

Hey Hazard, I was wondering if you'd recommend getting this over a Nawaz BG. I'm a fan of both the Crumrine and the WWE editions of the BG, however i'm thinking about a bootlegger having less resale value over a Fandu. Do you think this is true?

Depends on the maker, high end makers belt values generally hold up well, lower end makers belt values and replicas do not.
@@HazardF5 Nawaz isn't quite CS but his big golds look great and, if you haven't checked them out, they're impressive for the $850 price.
The Luxe is cheaper and I'm not a fan of the regular Fandu (I'm so nitpicky when it comes to these things and I'm sure you're in the same boat ahah) and Fandu is a lot more well known to potential buyers.
Tricky decisions! I keep being swayed between the two, but I'm leaning more towards the Luxe. Cheers for your reply!
I'd put most of Nawaz's plates up against CS's. I've had plates from him in the last 9 months that have been incredible

You mentioned you have a premium Crumrine from CS on order? If you don't mind me asking, are you having the leather done by them as well, or are you just having the plates made by them, then having the leather work done by someone else? & If so, who are you using for the leather work?
Since buying the last one, they've improved their leather, so I'll be having hem so it this time.
@@HazardF5, I've heard their leather work has improved as well. I just haven't seen an in depth review on any of their recent work to confirm that.
I saw pictures a few years ago of a couple of big golds Paul Martin made. He made 2. Both sets of plates where in the WWE style, but made one strap in the WWE style & the other strap in the WCW style. On the WCW style strap instead of doing the stitching around the edge, he did bevelled edge tooling around the strap. I know it's not show accurate but in my opinion it looked much better than the stitching. I'm trying to toss up whether I want the strap for my CS Crumrine to be like that even though it's not show accurate.
I know this is off topic but I know you're very active in the belt community, so I just wanted to ask. Do you know of a way, or heard of a way to modify the 2015 spinner replica so the Eagle & Champ banners sit flat on top of the main plate rather than sitting above the main plate on posts?

What do you mean about connecting the lettering?
@@HazardF5 the spacing between the individual letters that spell out WORLD, HEAVYWEIGHT and CHAMPIONSHIP have always been close enough to touch each other where as on this belt the spacing is far apart.

Cleaned one of their original belts the same way I do all my others and it developed several tarnishing spots. Been saving for a Classic Shields, but until they can prove this new version won't have the same issue with tarnish their other plates do, it'll be a while before I could justify throwing away more money at them.
What did you use to clean it?
Ammonia-free windex and a microfiber cloth. I used it on all of my second hand belts and it tends to take grime off and leave a good mirror finish, but It tarnished the heck out of an un-flawed all gold Fandu.
That's unusual. Mind you I only ever used warm water on mine. If the backing didn't cover the bolts I'd take the plates off and test it

Would you happen to know if Belt Addition (or any equivalent company) already sell name plates for this new Fandu Luxe Edition? Seeing as I already own (well still on order) a Classic Shields premium Crumrine Big Gold, I'm only looking at one of these new Fandu Big Golds so I can spray paint NWO on it, & make it a NWO themed Crumrine. So obviously I would want to change the name plate to the style of name plate being used in the late 90's/early 2000's with Hogan's name on it.
Belt Addiction have the specs to make a nameplate for this yes but only in the trophy metal plate/resin style, not a crumrine style plate like the one here

Paid on a Saturday and got it on the Thursday. You'd have to check with them but I paid with paypal
