shes so cute i never been so excited to ship a poly mailer before
bwa I was gonna say the same thing lmao
Love the raspy voice
on my mother
3:06 really shows how much shipping has increased in price lately!
Yeah I’m paying like 4.55 for something as heavy as 7oz….
I'm so fired up about polymailers now!
Justin Miramontes yo can get them else where with minimum of 50 bags.. love her energy but their price are too high !
Blank Frame Studio Where can I get them cheaper? You’re right it’s too pricey
Jr Duncan I got mine at Sticker Mule with my brand name on it.. you can get samples or buy minimum of 50.
Blank Frame Studio Thanks a lot I really appreciate it
@@blankframestudio1582 The minimum is 10 actually
16oz or less I use poly bags. Anything non clothing I'll wrap in bubble wrap. Anything over 16oz I'll use flat rate envelope, legal flat rate, or padded envelope.
This is my protocol that I follow and has saved me a a lot of money. I'll always try to ship at the lowest cost depending on the size and weight of the item.
1oz to 16oz poly bags
Flat rate envelope - $6.55
Legal flat rate envelope- $6.85
Padded envelope- $7.25
Saving .10 .20 .30 cents times over 100 sales adds up to dollars. I hope this helps anyone. 👊
@I'm that good brah - Very helpful, thanks for commenting. What size polymailers do you use when shipping items 16oz or less?
theheartloveproject I use 10 x 13 poly bags. For bigger items such as a sweater that might be 15oz to 16oz I'll use 12 x 14.5 but it's occasional.
if i’m shipping shoes that are like 2lbs can i still use poly mailers ? and if so what shipping is best? first class, priority i’m so lost on what’s the difference lol
shayna s. 1oz to 16oz is first class mail 2 to 3 days.
17oz and up you can do priority mail 2 to 3 days
Another option is ground mail which is slower, but might be slightly cheaper. Item can take more than 8 days to arrive. USPS has a shoe box which is free at your post office. For 2 pounds it would be around $13 bucks, but location will also determine price, or see if the shoes fit in one of their flat rate boxes which is also $12 plus. You can try offer up and Facebook market which is what I do for heavier items, you will save yourself shipping cost.
to ship with usps do you simply print out the shipping label and put it on the poly mailer and then pay in the store? thanks
Yes! Thank you! Now Im invested in these poly mailers. She was hype and concise!
I love your videos! In the future I think a lot of us would love to see longer videos going into greater detail regarding some of the topics you briefly cover (e.g. how wrapping things in bubble wrap is more eco friendly than ordering padded poly mailers). I know you guys put a lot of effort into the production of these shows, so maybe you're not able to make longer videos, but I definitely wouldn't mind less production value if you'd go into greater depth! Anyway, great job!
Hey girl! I was like ...hm i know you from somewhere..I know now,. I saw you on Shark Tank show. Love your personality and motivation! Keep it up!!
I looooove your energy and how you get off subject and come right back! haha ^__^
Never in a million yrs did I think I'd be so excited to find a show called Shipping Things. And yet here we are. 😂
Interesting, but I thought you would tell us things such as how to attach a shipping label to a poly mailer. I already know why poly mailers are good.
This information was super helpful. Thanks, lovely person!
Thank you for the video!! very informative!!
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
I didn't know she was the founder of Lumi. Wow, love your videos
Love your energy!!!!
Extremely helpful! Thanks!!
I love your videos and the way you present things.
She is too much fun. I'm sold, I'm not getting custom shipping boxes.... Getting poly mailers😉
I absolutely loved your presentation.
Really quality video, thanks for making it
Whats a good website I can get custom polymailers done for my business? Thank you in advance :)
Love this video. Very helpful
I love the intro omg very clever
Excellent presentation! Thank you.
Just found out this company because of gary vee, I love her and I'm ordering some poly mailers for my business :)
I dont remember when poly mailers were 2.50 to ship coast to coast, Ive been selling for a while as well
$2.50 won't even ship a wash cloth, poly mailer or not. Wth?
I was wondering the same thing. Lumi, how'd you figure that one?
Me too. How is she shipping it and with whom?
How much would it ship to the Uk? I got a package and the shipping was only $2.77
If you dont want a boxed wallet to get damaged. Would you just wrap it in bubble wrap really well b4 you put it in the poly mailer?
Loved this video🤩😍
Great Video, I got a Shipping company who charges $0.65 cents for a Smaller shoe box size for shipping shoes. I also got some free Un-Marked brown shipping boxes too yeeh!! because The more Expensive items deserves to be shipped Properly in my Opinion. Great information.
Who is the shipping company ? Please
Very nice presentation!
thank you so much!
I feel like I have met you before. I am a chimney sweep in Washington looking to ship trading cards.
Maybe I'll circle back after my research on the numbers.
Thank you for being creative and fun.
If you customize a poly mailer with your logo on it on one side....does it matter that you put the shipping label on the back side of the poly mailer?
Hi..Great video. I have a plastic bag here,as thick as polymailer..some are even thicker but they are not polymailer.Instead of throwing it in garbage, can I use it as a polymailer for shipping clothes? It doesnt have adhesive sticker on it but I can use an ebay tape on it.Can I use this plastic bag as polymailer?thank you so much!
Cute video and very informative.
I'm so confused and hoping someone can explain how she could ship that sweater for $2.50. Based on the usps guidelines, it would be more than 1/4 inch thick...so wouldn't that make it a "package" and not a "large envelope"? And if so, the cost would be more around the $5 range and not $2.50, right? I have been wanting to sell on eBay but I cannot for the life of me figure out shipping
I was told it'd classify as a large envelope
Sell on Poshmark. It's easy shipping there. For Poshmark you can use USPS free boxes (1092 Priority Mail Boxes order online USPS)or use your own. Once you get used to it, then go to ebay. On Ebay, I just make sure that the weight is accurate and I use Polymailers. Check out other resellers on CZcams. Lots of good information.
Love the intro. It was funny and entertaining. Liked and subbed.
I am selling pins they are small and about 3oz my poly mailers i already got are 6.5"x9"
is this doable with the shipping? USPS First Class Package?
thank you so much! i’m trying to sell some clothes online and wanted to know what it would cost to use poly mailers. usps doesn’t even mention them on their website. it’s like they want you to be wasteful!
Amazon started a huge effort to ship more of their products in poly mailers over boxes in 2017. It's economical from a packaging standpoint and a shipping perspective. Good Luck.
You are a star :)
If I am shipping a pair of earrings in a 6x9 poly mailer what would be the average cost? I have tried before and they charged $5 plus for a poly mailer with a set of scrunchies in it.
I love ur personality
@Lumi, if I'm shipping a plastic bowl for my business (think standard bowl size), do you think a poly mailer would work given the durability of standard plastic or does it really have to be a soft thing like a sweater? Thanks!
Yes, it will. However, if the plastic in your bowl is made from a type of resin that has a high fragility (breakage) level, you would want to try it first. Dropping it in a polymailer from a 30" drop height will give you a good idea.
im sold lol
Do you just print and put the shipping label anywhere on the front? Just starting a business and want to have shipping look neat
Go to the Sticker Mule website. That may be good for you if you're just starting a business
How about shipping a painting on stretched canvas, with a 1.5 inch depth? I'd like to ship an 8x8 inch piece with a 1.5 inch depth. I've shipped 5X7 inch with 7/8 inch depth stretch canvas paintings in a poly mailer with no problem. I wrapped it first in tissue paper, then numerous layers of bubble wrap.
quality video, very informative ty
Do I have to measure the thickness of my poly mailer if I mail a pillow do I measure length width and height
hmm... I've been using poly mailers for my products, but keep getting hit with nasty 'special handling' charges when using couriers (UPS or Purolator)... for them 'not being encased in cardboard'. Sometimes the charge is up to $18 extra just shipping one product!
Same! Have you figured it out yet? I just started to sell clothes and sometimes the shipping goes up to $15 for one tshirt in a polymailer!
@@theebs1193 In my case, it was because my product was an abnormal size, and it was only UPS charging me the fee. They said it could get stuck in their equipment if in poly sleeve, so someone had to physically walk it through the sorting facility. In the end, I had custom boxes made.. costs me per box, but not nearly as much as those extra charges were!
Thea you should usps flat rate envelope that will cost u around 7$ and cents .That is the cheapest way .Or go to usps site and order legal flat rate envelope whuch is not available in post office .That is quite big and a dress can easily fit if not put tape around the edges .I sell on ebay and I use all the time for clothes .This will also cost u 7$ and few cents .I hope this helps .
I watched this high. No regrets.
I tried to input 19 x 24 poly mail at a shipping site but it said i had to use box. If i want to ship stuff toy in 19x24 poly how do i ship? Priority or something else? Thank need answer quickly if possible. Ty
does anyone know if i need to wrap the items in anything before i insert them in a poly mailer
what would a polymail be classified as when it ships? (Flat Envelope, Parcel, etc...) Would it be calculated by the dimensions of the empty bag or full? very nice video BTW
Hi Ronald! A poly mailer would typically be classified as a large envelope, but rules vary based on your carrier.
Dimensions are based on the bag full, but some carriers will also consider the weight of your bag. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)
It does indeed!! Thank you!
How do I ship a sweater that size for $2.50? Please tell us how.
I want to know also!! More like 5.00
@@fl488 can you get tracking with poly mailers
@@chickwitthagoodies Yes. Tracking is usually a given with first class mail.
Great info. Thanks! Can it be a nonsymetrical (sp?) item an still ship? Like a stuffed animal?
I have the same question, still browsing videos about it
How about shipping jewelry is poly mailer good
Hello, I'm really confused. I'm trying to create a shipping label for my 10x13 poly mailer. The clothes weigh 2 lbs and the website wants to charge me $15 from Arizona to Alabama!!! What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it? I'm new to this shipping thing and can't imagine making my customer pay $15 to ship this package. Can it be done online or do I have to go in to the post office and talk to a person? Any help or guidance would be appreciated...
@lumi what size poly mailer do I need for a shirt or sweater??
Thanks
Just fold up the item and measure it. Round up
I paid $8.60 to send small box of 4 key chains to Va or Wisconsin
But if I sent in poly nailer I wouldn’t get tracking would I ?
Would love to save money but can’t rely on people telling me there item never came
Can u clarify this on poly mailers ?
How exactly do you get that sweater across the country for $2.50? If weight and dimensions are virtually the same.
I kinda wanted to hear her describe the polymailer machine to the end :D
So funny...and informative
Superb 👍🏼video, creative, funny & straight to the point ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and thank you for not saying “what’s up guys” “pls. subscribe” etc. etc. I’ll return 🚗💨
will ebay accept poly mailers ...if so what option I need to click on first class or flat rate? please answer me
Maybelin Garcia I do mainly first class. Flat rate you get from USPS.com Flat rate is different because it is a flat rate of it fits it ships for the same cost. Poly mailers can be cheaper but not always
love it
What is the size on bigger polymeiler? Please.
what if i need to ship delicate items like folders or paper documents? how could i get it from point a to b in a poly mailer? thank you!
Your best bet for shipping paper flat is a rigid paper mailer like this > www.lumi.com/products/rigid-kraft-mailers 👍
thank you!
How do you ship usps with poly bag for less then 3 dollars for that example of the sweater you used?
hi i have the same question
if it weighs under 16 ounces inside the polymailer, it can ship first class, the cost will range from $2.66 to a little bit more than $4 if im not mistaken. usps prices have gone up since this video was made, but its still a lot cheaper.
There's no way that the sweater would ship for $2.50, even 10 years ago, that heavy thing wouldn't be that cheap. I've been an ebay seller for a long time.
Mandy Thompson Would you recommend this company?
Anyone know if I can get away with using a single Forever Stamp on a 6"x9" polymailer with contents under 1oz? It makes it by in weight, but if it's not paper/envelope, will USPS not accept it as a single stamped "letter"?
You can't ship them like a letter. Must be a package, will cost around $2.50.
How i connect and pass the ordered poly mailer from sticker mule to printful warehouse in order for them to handle and shipout the product( I'm doing print on demand online store powered by printful)
Pls tell me how to da thank you so much!!!
Can you ship poly mailers with UPS? or FedEx?
Yes. You can purchase them at their stores.
Can I ship a purse with poly mailer
Are all polybags recyclable? I read somewhere they have to be #2 or #4 to be recyclable
Hi there! Great question. Most poly bags are #4, LDPE. In many US cities, you can recycle poly bags wherever you recycle plastic grocery bags - usually in a dedicated drop off spot at a grocery store.
They need to be recycled separately from other plastics simple because the thin plastic film jams up the machines that sort through recyclables and end up costing facilities lots of money while they shut down the machines to pull out the bags.
I have ordered 1000 poly mailing bags but I think they are too wrinkled. Is there any trick I'm missing?
Can I used it for cake jars
Where can I get it? Do local store have them
We sell them at Lumi! www.lumi.com/products/poly-mailers
Can a box be shipped in poly bag?
Look into RanPak products, they offer very very very sustainable shipping items! Would love to see them included in these reviews if at all posible
Can you put products in a polymailer as is? Or do you need a something in the polymailer
did you ever figure this out because i’m wondering the same
Dose this mean the box you said that's $10 would be cheaper if you put it inside the poly-mailer? Or just the content of the shirt itself?
The dimensions of the poly mailers are determined by the dimensions of what you put inside. So if you put the box inside of the poly mailer, you'd be charged for the dimensions (LxWxH) of the total package. Boxes on the other hand, have one set of dimensions since they aren't flexible.
@@ShippingThings this is so confusing. How does shipping that sweater coast to coast amount to $2.50? What were the dimensions? Do you have to fold the sweater flat? We need it spelled out please! 😊😊😊
Can you go in debt on how you are able to ship Items for so little. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Well, if you want to go in debt for that, send me $9,000 cash that you borrowed from a friend, and I will tell you. Don't use a poly mailer though!
@Lumi, can you go in DEPTH and explain the measuring and weighing guidelines when shipping with poly mailers...please?
Where I can buy polymailers bags in Canada????
Hello! LOVE the videos I've seen so far. I am a former Amazon & Wayfair employee - Packaging Engineering Global Management. I looked at your website and I couldn't get my quesitons answered because I don't have an account (yet). Is there a way to have a chat (yep, a real, person-to-person chat) so I can see if I'm a good fit for Lumi and if Lumi is a good fit for me?
Of course! You can go to lumi.com and click Get Started to get a demo of the platform.
$2.50 to ship a sweater? Im paying over $3 to ship a t-shirt. What am I doing wrong. I use stamps.com and ship via USPS. less than 10oz
did you ever get an answer to this question?
@@ryanopena730 Did you? I'm selling clothing on eBay and the shipping is ridiculous. I am a new seller so any tips of saving shipping money would be useful.
How are the actual mailing dimensions figured? if you have an object that is 4" x 4" x 5" in an 8x10" bag, do you only measure the dimensions of the item itself??? thanks!
Great question! When it comes to shipping, the only dimensions that matter are the exterior dimensions of the container you're shipping in. So if you're shipping a t-shirt in an 10x12 poly mailer, you would calculate shipping rates for a 10x12 envelope.
Pro-tip: Some folks fold down more flexible mailers (like poly) when they seal them to make them smaller to accommodate whatever their shipping. 👍
Thanks for getting back to me. I have seen the mailers folded over. I have seen some bulky items in the mailers. The bulk would not make a difference in how the dimensions are measured??
The bulk affects the depth of the package.
I am sorry for being difficult, but I am having some trouble. If I send a 3 dimensional object in a poly mailer, the only dimensions that matter are the length and width of the mailer?
If you send a padded envelope, they measure length, width and thickness (or depth). So it seems that the measurements would encompass the 3 dimensions of an object. Is this not the case? Sorry for pestering, I just want to make sure I understand. Thanks for your help!!
I just wanted to know if I needed to put stamps on it bruh
A serious question: how do you ship a sweater for $2.50 using a polymailer? Even if it's lighter than 16oz, USPS First Class Package Service would cost more than $3. Thanks
When you work with a shipping API like Shippo or Easypost, you can get lower rates based on your volumes. You can also negotiate your contracts with carriers directly to save as you scale.
How do you adhere a paper shipping label to a poly mailer?
buy some self sticking printer paper
Tape
Are first class bags count ?
Where and how do you actually recycle polymailers?
You can recycle poly mailers wherever you recycle single use plastic grocery bags. In some cities, that's curbside, and in other cities, it's at a dedicated drop-off.
I use my used mailers for packing material for larger items that I ship..makes nice padding.
Where do you get the large polymailers?
On ebay .Thay sell all sizes .
What about poly bubble mailers?
do you put polybags in polymailer
You can put clear poly bags inside poly mailers. They're especially handy for sorting and storing products before shipping. 👍
I love you poly
Cute! Your voice sounds like Sophia Bush's voice!
can I use poly mailers for poshmark?
I do!
Is there a way to put your logo or name on a poly mailer
Hi, our factoy support to print custom logo to the poly mailer.
wait but don't most recycling places not even take LDPE which is what poly mailers are made of according to your other video on whats recyclable? It seems like in most counties at least in california (where i'm at) you have to drive to someplace specific to recycle them, which I wish wasnt the case and also I don't think consumers would find convenient, which defeats the purpose of trying to encourage people to recycle
💛
I love my new mail mommy
