Phillies got away with one there!
@@Mynamesalexa MLB is trying to punish the state of Georgia. They’re rigging it against their in-state baseball team. And it’s a shame.
MLB just punishing Atlanta again..... call em out.
You rock Jomboy! You make me appreciate baseball more!
When I saw the blown call:
“Jomboy might make a breakdown on this”
When I saw Snit pop his mask into his eyes:
“Jomboy is definitely gonna do a breakdown on this”
I thought about the breakdown as soon as I calmed down a little
@@toxicmoldmedia That's great....except that's not the discussion here. The replay wasn't over whether or not the catcher blocked the plate, it was on whether or not the runner touched the plate before being tagged. No doubt, had the call been reversed, Philly would have tried to argue he blocked the plate. Maybe even gotten ANOTHER replay. Maybe even had it overturned AGAIN.
But your smug description of that which you think no one else knows matters exactly zero to this discussion.
Glad to teach you something today.
Yep, my wife said "at what time is Jomboy uploading the video of this?"
Ditto!
Haha. I had the exact same internal dialogue.
MLB replay booth: He's 100% out.
Manfred: This ruling will increase the chance of the game going into extra innings and "fans want shorter games."
MLB replay booth: Okay, he's safe.
@Fugp Basis Amen brother
@@coleelledge8191 This is unrelated to the first argument, but about the call. Can the manager call protested game?
Hey, though, is there any chance they took into account that the catcher blocked where the guy's leg was going? Knocking it off course for what would have been a plate touch?
I'm not a baseball guy, I just like this channel lol.
@@JustAGuy85 I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think that only applies when the catcher doesn't have the ball. For example, when someone is running home and the catcher is blocking his path the entire time without control of the ball, the call does change. And if the catcher does have the ball, he can block the path to tag, but they should still be careful of extreme roughness.

@@Berndog17 Why?
*MLB: has 3 simultaneous slow motion angles of the play.*
*MLB: gets calls wrong.*
All cause they don’t want the ump to be wrong
Imagine if you had money on this, say on a site like DraftKings.
MLB hasn't got anything right yet this year so I wouldn't expect anything to change
Is it too early/too absurd to think MLB might be conspiring to make sure the Braves don't make the playoffs after taking the All-Star Game from Atlanta?
Another reason why automated umpires should be in baseball. At least for strike and ball calls. There is no reason to have a human umpire for pitch calls when all of us at home see the strike zone box during the pitch. Everyone is freaking out over this call, but not the 20-30 wrong strike calls against the phillies during this series. I guess the only way we can get automated umpires is if we threaten every team with angel hernandez behind the plate
In other news, Angel Hernandez is now the lead at the MLB Replay Review Office.
Heaven forbid!!! (Wait...actually would explain a lot! 🤦🏾♀️)

Wow
haha pingtrip no way you watch jomboy
Just remember when the umps gave Atlanta a win over Pittsburgh in that 19 inning game a few years back. Everyone gets the benefit of ref-ball
Here is a little education for you. Right from the MLB website.
"If the catcher blocks the runner before he has the ball, the umpire may call the runner safe. ... However, runners who do slide and catchers who provide the runner with a lane will never be found in violation of the rule"
The runner was sliding before possession. He didn't provide him with that clear lane so he violated the rule. To legally block the plate, you have to be stationary in front of the plate, have possession, and make the tag. The catcher cannot hockey check a sliding runner to "block the plate". He didn't offer a clear lane while he was sliding. Catcher vioalted the rule, runner is safe.
Glad to teach you something today. Close call though.

yea, im glad i saw this because all the angles i saw before this i thought were inconclusive. this was pretty clear
@@bobapjok4241 yeah, watch any one replay on its own and you can say, "he was almost certainly out but maybe he nicked the plate there." Combine two angles and you can definitively say he never even got within a couple inches of the plate, with 100% certainty.
2:27 where is the convincing evidence the side of his foot is not touching the plate here? Particularly from 2:28-2:29. No angle disputes that and you could definitely argue it’s touching the plate. They need clear evidence to overturn the call, at that moment the only thing that’s clear is his toe is off the plate. Not clear where the side of his foot is.

This is why I like how the NFL presents the calls after a challenge review. There's confirmed, stands, or reversed. Getting the play call wrong AFTER sending it to replay has to be one of the funniest things in modern sports entertainment.
God I love it when they miss a call then send it to replay because the whole reason we decided to delay the game in the age of no delay of game was to make sure the call on the field was correct and after all of that they still get the call wrong. Hey Jomboy u da man
Australian rugby league has used a bunker for replay for years WITH synced multi-angle. Here's the kicker: The replays are shown in the stadium as they're reviewed, AND the replay officials' discussion with the refs on the field is piped into to the broadcast. No questions about what they saw.
For years they’ve been asking to keep the call on the field a secret when asking for a review. If it goes to NY, they should just look at the play and make a fresh call. No reason to bring the potential missed call into the situation.
MLB boardroom: “we should make instant replay standard so that fans can see how exactly the umps screw up calls from multiple angles, that way they can get upset without having any satisfaction of calls being overturned.”
