Same Dan. Was scrolling through my CZcams liked playlist and went deep. 14.5 years later remembering this old video with my wife. We were just young 21 year olds when this came out. Great times.
I’ve been with my wife almost 12 years. We were just cranking the big home stereo to the actual version of this song and made me think of the literal video. She found it funny but in a hardy har har kind of sarcastic way.

I love the cool new sweater for only 40 dollars. And it's funny because when I watched the real video, I thought the guy was Dave Coulier too, as he looked on Full House.

I really love these "Literal Version" videos! They're all terrific and hilarious, including this one! My favorite parts of this one are, "When I open this, the cards all fly out.", "I'm gunna pull a gun on you, but don't be afraid. I'm silly, so...", and, "Do you like my mullet. Business in front, party in back!"! I love every part of this, though! Also, I like how the guy in the video looks confused when he "floats up to the next level in a magic chair"! Keep up the great work, DustoMcNeato!

There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.

What makes this video different from other literal versions is that is not only a very good adaptation of the singer to the original one but also add some creative phrases and they are told in a funny way like "you have really big glasses" or "I wish that they were better" when refering to the books, that has nothing to do with the video but it adds funny value. I just love it.

How am I just finding this today? This is hilarious, and so well done. I see there are a handful on this YT channel but it seems other people do literal videos as well. Amazing that I never stumbled upon this before. This is like when I first found the Star Wars 1977 "Bad Lip Reading" video and was laughing like a mental patient.
How in the WORLD do you get your voice to sound so close to him? In all your videos you're right on. Not to mention you can sing and hit the same tough notes.

Your "original" literal videos are the best. You know how to write good (and funny) lyrics. And most important of all, you can actually sing as well as the original artists (and even sound like them). This one is my favorite; hope you get to do some more...

As someone who has written a ton of parody songs I know how hard it is to do..it's even harder to make it really funny..it's even harder to make it funny for almost 4 minutes..You nailed it. Brilliant stuff. Do a few hundred more.
