- Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale demonstrates the modified powerchord hook of Everything Zen using a Bigsby-modded Fender '67 Jazzmaster electric guitar, formerly owned by none other than Eagles legend Joe Walsh - and which happens to be the same guitar he used to record the album Sixteen Stone - running through a Vox practice amp.

Sick Riffs is a Guitar World video series designed to help guitarists affected by the coronavirus. Self-isolating players around the world have each filmed a lesson where they teach you one of their own guitar riffs, up close and personal. If you dig the lesson, we encourage you to buy music and merch from the artist or stream their music.

Good grief he’s aged beautifully.
America has Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice and Chains, so on, but I'm so happy that we have a great grunge band like Bush!
To be fair though, Gavin still looks like in the 90's
Sixteen Stone is a brilliant album. Even though it was right in the Grunge period, it really stood out as more of a rock album. Little Things, Machinehead....amazing. All of it. Thanks Gavin. Oh and I would venture to say that John 5 likes it, too!
Gavin, thank you for the lesson. Don’t sell yourself short. You created some of the most memorable music of the early nineties which millions know by heart.
Dude looks exactly the same as he did during the 90's
2 years later front lines has a different meaning
“No, I’m not John 5. Only John 5 is John 5.”
I wish I could say that my guitar used to belong to Joe Walsh
I met Gavin Rosedale back in 1999 at the X-103.9 Alternative Rock radio station in San Bernardino, CA, with my then girlfriend Kelly Doyle. He had an interview about their newest record "The Science Of Thing's". And he also shared some of his favorite Steve Albini Produced records, from "The Jesus Lizard" to "The Pixies". I had my guitar with me outside the station, and when done, Gavin, actually walked outside to the front of the station by the parking lot, posed for pictures with eager fans and even signed my acoustic guitar with a permanent marker and he also pluck some strings, I'll never forget it!!!
Holy SHit! THis is Gold!. He recorded the whole album on that guitar!?! wow!
Saw Bush last year and Gavin was nothing but gracious about everything, I've never seen another major bands lead singer that humble before.
Nigel Pulsford, Robin Goodridge and Dave Parsons were the original Bush lineup along with Gavin. They all made Sixteen Stone sound like the Best grunge and rock álbum of its time.
My daughter's first concert was Bush a couple years ago. They played everything and they sounded great!
Awesome to see Gavin's old Jazzmaster back. I saw Bush live 4 times and after waiting like 17 years was fortunate to catch "Alien" as part of the set lineup. If you haven't seen these guys live you owe it to yourself to do it. Great live band, super friendly guys that always deliver. Thanks Gavin and thanks Guitar World for this
Bush's 16 Stone was AWESOME. Bought it on cassette back in the mid 90's! Rocked it until the tape broke!
Saw you 10 years ago at London Airport on your way to the southside festival in the south of Germany. Everybody of your band was so kind and friendly. I will never forget this. Thank you for your music and your lesson......👍🎸
These guys still have it live too. Saw them last year with Live.
Thank you Gavin for teaching this song. You are one of my idols. I love singing your guys songs when I was going to karaoke. Thanks again man. Much love and much appreciated.
Wow.. saw Bush live in 97 during their Razorblade Suitcase tour at Great Woods in Boston!
