It was a hell of a time to hear all the new alternative and grunge coming out. Honestly, felt like a magical time. The greats are starting starting to pass away. I was lucky enough to see NIN and Soundgarden coheadline a tour like 7 years ago.

Gavin is a legend. Bush is such a bad ass band, saw them live twice. Can’t explain the vibe of the venue when they play… it’s amazing and you somehow feel the love in the room. Lots of bands try to capture that and never do.
This song still takes him somewhere else…and we go for the ride with him for 5 min and change. Be the wave…

I’ve seen Bush several times and every time he makes everyone feel like the show is only for them. In fact, the last time I saw them, he spent at least half of the show in the crowd. Still amazing.

One of my all time favorites! They played it the night I proposed to my wife. The third time I had seen Gavin but the first when I got to see some Razorblade Suitcase tracks.

What’s the meaning behind Razorblade Suitcase? Also Golden State is incredibly under rated.
Love both albums. A Razorblade Suitcase is a suitcase that some well-off heroine users carry their... equipment in. I had read that around the time it was recorded Gavin had some things going on, including a harsh breakup and personal illness. It's my favorite Bush album, but you are so right about Golden State!
I think it's a metaphor for 'emotional baggage'. Read that somewhere

Golden State was good album and underrated in terms of critical acclaim.
But it’s definitely properly rated and the last of the four original albums with the original band. It’s better than any of the new ones though. The knew band shouldn’t even be Bush. They don’t bring what the other guys brought to band that melded to form the Bush sound. The new band should just be The Rossdales with Gavin playing some old Bush hits. The knee stuff is just not Bush but still Gavin. It’s not terrible but it’s not Bush without Nigel, Dave and Robin... I wish they’d get back together for one more album and tour.
But I agree Golden State got a lot of hate even though it was pretty good album. I think because it didn’t have any clear radio hits that matched the success of the hits on the first three albums and was the album that ended the band it just automatically gets forgotten and people sour on it. Because the music scene just changed and they went from Woodstock headliners and one of the biggest bands of the 90s to basically disappearing along with the MTV era that died with the garbage era of MTV reality shows and nonsense. Music changed to pop punk emo rock and just plain pop and rap dominated. Bush and the alternative grunge rock bands just took a back seat and faded. People are looking back and realizing just how good that era really was from mid 90s to early 2000s now.
