Perfect length for a recuperating invalid, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I really enjoyed this!! How wonderful to have an entire Walker Weekend 🎉
Thank you. I had saturday off too
I really love your readings, even better than the other fellow.
Love Agatha Christie! Your narration is always a winner🏆.
Thank you so much!
I Like this, good story!
Very nicely done! I love this story, which really highlights the shrewdness of Miss Marple. We have “stick candy” in the U.S., but I’ve never heard of having any names running through it. We also have “rock candy,” which is shaped more like crystals. Thank you for such a lovely break today ☺️
I am delighted how everyone is talking about this. apparently it’s candy cane but peppermint and it has names closing through it
It is good!!! 🤗. Keep going you are the only narrator that can clarify this beautiful story. Thank you!
Thank you, I will
Well done Tony! Loved this story!
Thanks
English Rock = US Candy Cane
Delightful
Wow, I loved this story ! I’m now a fan of your mystery channel!
Great to have you here
YES! Please do the series! I'd love to listen to you read and then comment on Agatha Christie. Agree with you about Emily too. I was focused on how annoying she was too. I really do love your work!
You are exceptionally kind . Thank you
Thank you! I enjoyed this story. I think it's called a candy stick in my part of Canada.
Superior! :)
Wow, thanks!
Brilliant‼️
This was wonderful! Thank you..

Just found you and loved your reading. New subscriber here 😊
Welcome 🙏
Very clever, miss marble.
Sugar dummies+aniseed rock,now i want some
Think of your teeth!
I really like the way you read dialogue, even when the speaker is a woman. Do you know the short story, 'The Nine Mile Walk' by Harry Kemelman? It's a nice, intriguing little mystery, and it's almost all a dialogue between two men. I don't believe anyone has recorded it yet, and your voice would be perfect for the back and forth as the story is teased out.
I could do that. Would need to check copyright issues.
@@classicdetective That would be wonderful! I do hope it's available; it was written in the 1940s. I read it as a teenager, and I never forgot the creeping uneasiness as the conversation goes on, as more and more sinister possibilities start intruding upon the imagination.
Very much enjoyed 🤗✨🌛🦉🎶
Glad you enjoyed it
What did the hosts expect? TOW’s reputation precedes her. Let this be a lesson to anyone considering hosting the tent a royals.
Thank you. Black screen would be very useful
I know of two similar candies to that one, the images or the words in it is similar to a candy maker I watch out of australia but they cut the pieces shorter instead of leaving them in a longer cane. Then, when I was a kid (early 2000’s) here in Ontario, Canada we have a chain bulk food store called Bulk Barn and they used to have tubs of straight cane shaped candy in a bunch of flavours and it was like 5 for $1 or something but they just had coloured swirls, no fancy sugarwork. I loved that candy though! This just reminded me that I don’t think they sell it anymore. Rock candy here is like big sugar crystals that have been grown on a wooden stick. I personally pictured a big round peppermint while the story was being read.
Ha ha. I need to find a picture of Blackpool Rock
Hold on. Am I balmy, or wasnt this on last week??🥴
Yes! One part of an Agatha Christie compilation of 5 stories that was posted about a week ago.
@@MaggieatPlay Oh! Thank you! I really got freaked out. 😄
@@lunablue745 I was confused as well at first. Then, I checked the channel and found the compilation of stories. Then, I was okay.
@@MaggieatPlay See! That is what a smart person does! Me? I sit and question the validity of deja vu!😆
@@lunablue745 Hahahaha!
The piano music in the background is beautiful. Who is it?
It's The Black Cat by Aaron Kenny
😂😂 NO Bird would want that nest. 😅😅
💕💕💕💕💕
What the world has Gladie done now? Gladie might start looking for a rich man who could marry her and reach high society! 😅
You never know.
Life Savers?
candy cane
Not life savers. And candy canes are, of course, cane-shaped and are almost always flavored with peppermint. We have stick candy, which goes by other names.
@@vickif.4645 Rock is also normally peppermint flavour.. and cane shaped (without the hook)
Had to Google it myself 😅. Hard sweet, minty flavour.
Too unbelievable. Didn't buy it.
Please don't talk so fast
play it at half speed?
Too much Agatha 😭
I cannot imagine such a thing.
No such thing. 🙂
Just saying plenty of other authors, Rosemary Herbert, Ian Rankin, Mary Fortune, John Dickson Carr, Otto Penzler, Dorothy Sayers, Arthur Morrison, Stuart McBride etc..
Never Could Be Too Much !!❤
@@patsysmothermon7861 who was miss marples stunt double in the TV show?
