The Martin Beck books were written over ten years from 1965-75 by the Swedish husband and wife team of Maj Sjöwall & Per Wahlöö. They featured the dogged and complex figure of D.I. Martin Beck and his colleagues in the national Police Homicide Department in Stockholm, and were written to give a realistic, unsentimental portrait of Sweden at the time: a society suffering from stifling bureaucracy and the creeping corruption of a liberal society.

So happy to be of service. Thank you for the love and appreciation! Who needs TV?! 😂😘💖💞💕
I´m Swedish and a big fan of these books. This is an excellent dramatization with fantastic pronounciation and clear sound. Very enjoyable. Thank you! 😊😊😊😊
Thanx ❤ I just had cataract surgery so cannot read but enjoy listening to these excellent programs
Good story, actors and narrators. Good sound quality. Thank you.
What voice! Steven Macintosh is perfect for Beck. 素敵💓from Japan.
Excellent writers of M. Beck's novels. I am glad their books were made into plays
Brilliantly done! Thank you!
Enjoyed this radio drama.
So glad to have your channel back!
Me too! 😂😘💖💞💕
A parable for our times. 😔
Thank you
Well done !
Thoroughly enjoyable, thank you.
I like sex like a lot of people, but i find it absolutely unnecessary in a radio play
Sex with a radio play is quite distracting. I keep losing my place.
I agree, they can intimate it without us having to listen
The narrator interrupts the story not necessary can understand English!
It's there to condense the story. These are novels, and would be much longer without the narration. Also, your sentence is illiterate, coming from someone who "can understand English."
It's part of the unusual style of these adaptations - I personally really like it. It's not interrupting, it's adding colour/context.
The content creator has to inject some originality or else get in trouble with the channel. They can't just play the recording, no matter how old it is. They have to stop and put some of their own content in or they get suspended.
I found some of the male actors a little stilted in delivery and the subject of the heat repetitive. Interesting conclusion though.
Narration sets "the scene".
