What does he mean by the tri- lateral commission line?
@@tresaga3209 as a verb, the word "commission" has two possible meanings one of which is "bring (something newly produced, such as a factory or machine) *into working condition* ". Thus, what Lupe is saying is that he is trying 3 things in parallel (at the same time) i.e. tri-laterally to get the Nintendo (NES or SNES), which was probably new at the time, to work as if to say he is bringing the machine online as we say nowadays. He could also be using the other, simpler meaning which is to get something (or someone) to make, create, or do something which in this case, Lupe is trying to get the NES to produce images on the TV instead of noise.
All this boils down to Lupe essentially saying, that he is trying 3 ways, simultaneously, to get the Nintendo to work.
Keep in mind also, this whole bar is a simile(analogy) of how Lupe "peeps the game". Note that the word commission is often used when it comes to getting an artist to produce art for someone. Lupe investigates and keeps an eye on "the game" in 3 ways simultaneously to commission the artwork that he produces ie to inspire or fuel or just help produce the artwork that he is producing. There is also the cover art which Lupe may have also commissioned. This is my own understanding of this simile.
Lupe reminds me of why I picked up a pen to scribble rhymes or why I fell in love with hip-hop/rap music in the first place.
