I have been in Dubai for 2.5 years..
You have covered most part but when it comes to work life balance no one can beat the Uk meaning people in Dubai might work for more than 9-10hrs per day. There was no work from home policy until covid and even now employees are expected to be in the office most of the working days.
This was one of the reason why I moved out from Dubai.
No job security, during covid 30% of head count was reduced without reasoning, which is the case these days across the world 😅
Pros - you get Indian food items very easily and it’s economical compared to the Uk.
Many Indian and Asian restaurants without altering the taste.
Used or new cars are way better and economical in UAE compared to the Uk. Motorways/Roads are big with up to 8 lanes.
I had done apple to apple comparison before moving to the UK. Happy to help if anyone needs guidance.
    Have a nice one!

I have been in the Dubai for 17 years (born and brought up) and I have been in India for 19 years in India and now in UK for more than 5 years. All what you said is correct. People complain on taxes here in the UK and compare it with Dubai and other Gulf countries. Having worked in India and in the UK one thing to remember is that a country can only grow if it collects taxes. Believe me Dubai and other Gulf countries will start introducing taxes once their oil reserves starts depleting and once countries start moving into electric/hydrogen vehicles. Saudi and Dubai have already introduced taxes in some form and this will increase again in the coming years. UK is not really attractive currently due to less growth in economy but fundamentals, systems and processes are all good. In the UK they have got good principles and values to set a person to success in career and in life and that’s very important to acquire before running behind the glamour in Dubai. Always love UAE as it’s my birthplace and would love to go for vacations, food, shopping. However I would prefer to live in the UK as it’s got the things I need for my family and kids.

we have just moved to uk after spending 12 years in Dubai.
Dubai is the safest place on earth no doubt, you have luxurious life there but this can spoil you and you can end up in debt. If you lose your job you need to leave uae in a month. It’s mostly hot there and you need to survive in AC and then you get allergies. There is night life there but in UK there is not. I believe you can spend good family time in UK whereas you spend more time and money in malls in Dubai.
Here in UK we wear the same dress code (jackets 😂) and then you save a lot of money on clothes you know. In Dubai you shop a lot as there is always summers.
In cold weather you can still go outside if you wear proper clothes but in heat you cannot.
Here in UK doctors appointments are on waiting always but in Dubai its very quick so that’s a big positive.
In UK there you have to do everything by yourself, no help but thats better you know, it keeps you fit and you eat home made food more which is healthy. There in Dubai you have help and then you eat outside more as there are many indian restaurants as well.
You can easily get alcohol, Dubai is very modern. There is no sharia law there.
In the end i would say we humans are never satisfied whereever we go 😅

We have been to Dubai last year October. We were going to Singapore via Dubai but we missed our connecting flight from Dubai. Next flight was two days later, so we stayed there for two days. The moment we stepped out of airport, it felt like an oven . It was 45 degrees at night. But infrastructure was amazing…so many beautiful buildings. And yeah Indian food was great there. Even McDonald at airport had kadak chai

I have lived in dubai and now I am in uk. I can compare and in my honest opinion, Dubai is much much better. When you compare between the reasons to stay in uk and reasons to leave uk, you’d find more reasons to leave than staying in uk. On the other hand, you’ll find more reasons to stay in dubai as compared to reasons to leave dubai. There is only one point that causes the thought of leaving Dubai is that it doesn’t offer citizenship. And countries like uk has only one thing to offer that is citizenship which is also not guaranteed because of changing rules every now and then. So many people are coming to uk, taking their pp and moving back to Dubai. And according to common sense, I’d say it’s a smart move 😃

Equality is more in uk you can live anywhere you like but in dubai you cant live or buy a house where a shiekh local born shiekh or lets say a emarati lives and there labour laws are not as good as the uk so if you are worried about taxes they charge you 3% VAT on anything you buy a cup of coffee or a tup of ice cream. Still looks less than the Uk than comes the visa they can deny your work permit anytime so its a mix of good and not so good things but uk is far better in terms of living standard and equality
