I’ll be watching every video no such thing as long and boring videos you are full of knowledge my friend!
I followed you because you are a veteran (just like me). But I STAYED on your channel because you actually spit knowledge. So, thank you for that.
Thanks, I am active duty, US Navy. Thanks for the message, means alot.
Your videos are a gold mine for me. Thank you from Wales U.K. 👍
It’s really amazing work
Fiskars have a scissor sharpener in their assortment. It’s good!
I ABSOLUTELY Love All of Your Videos; and I have learned So much! Thank You!!👏🏽To have a Border around the Patch, does it have to be Digitized into the design first? Thanks A Million!👑❤🥰
Another great video
Great Video!
Good video thanks looks good
what type of material are you using? Or what material do you recommend to make the patches?
The patches look great! What material did you use for the appliqué portion of the patches? Did you use adhesive spray to hold it down on the 2 layers of cutaway?
I used black twill from Twill USA, and it has an adhesive back.
great video
Do you have video of what adhesive do you use for the hat patches sir ?
Do you think the satin stitches hold up when you use tear away, as well as they do when you use cut away.
Hi, thank you for your very informative video , of course I subscribed ;) All the questions and your answers to them below are so helpful ! Many thanks
Thank you for the video, what is the name of the black cutaway material?
Did you have the circle digitized especially for a specific size? Is it better to go with a digitizer? I'm still learning an I've been practicing patches but I'm not quite there yet. Thanks for the video.
Hello, yes, the border around the patch has a special finish. I put my digitizers info in the description. Its very important to have a really good reliable digitizer especially when starting out. Later, you can learn digitizing by studying designs and sew outs. Overall patches are very simple. You can also just add a regular satin stitch around the patch also.
You can sharpen those orange ones with scissors sharpener.
Romero how are you!! Thank you for the video. I didn’t find the fabric link. Can you share with us please? Thank you again!
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much I really enjoyed all your videos 🤗🥰please can you make a video on how to add and download embroidery fonts to software please 🙏❤
Good topic, coming soon. 👍🏽
@@RomeroThreads thank you so much
Hello. this is a great video...I want to try making patches . I have been watching many videos. Numerous videos say to use badgemaster. I see that your video is very simple. I love this. With using the lighter on the patch does it make it smell?. Again than you so much for sharing your knowledge.
No it doesn't smell. If you leave the flame too long on the material it can smoke up, you have to do it fairly quick.
Great video “Navy Spouse” here of my husband veteran served 28 yrs! Question: when you switch projects or fabrics do you need to play with the tension? That scares me.
Hello, I switch bobbins with different tension when I move from hats to something flat like patches or polo shirts. So yes, I play with the tension in that regards, but thats the only time. Its all about practice. Find one project, master that project then move to the next project. Eventually you'll see that most projects are similar and every project begins to resemble each others technique.
Are you using satin stitch for the border? Have you tried other stitches for the border? By the way..great video and nice sharing.
I am using a decorative motif (false marrow satin stitch). If I want just a quick satin stitch i'll use a simple satin stitch.
are you from fresno by any chance?
So you stitch the border, or the satin circle, twice? once before your first fabric cut and then once before your last cut away cut??
I usually use a placement stitch (run stitch), a cut stitch (run stitch) then a satin stitch, then final cut.
Would it make it easier to precut twill circles the exact size of our art work for clean edges every time?
Yes, that would make it much easier. It would be applique style patches.
@@RomeroThreads could you make a video on this and how to digitize for it? Or do you have one already? Should the embroidery overlap the twill slightly or should it embroider along the edge for best patch results?
Awesome work, what are Width & length on patches? Also do you digitize?
Thank you, they are 2.5x2.5 in. Thats my go-to size for patches, perfect for hats and left chest placements.
@@RomeroThreads thank you, do you digitize. I would like some patches? Is it possible to email me?
You can email me at 4everromero@gmail. com
@@RomeroThreads Thank you
When doing patches, do you have to have patches digitized for applique? Hope I said that right
What software are you using to get the merrow border on your patches
I was using premade borders.
Are you using double backing ? Two stabilizer?
Hello, yes I am. Since these are applique style patches, you can use tear away or cutaway and 1 or 2 layer depending how dense your design is.
how do you digitize the merrow edge on the patch
I was given a Merrow file a while back that Ive always used.
Am always scared using lighter that it will catch fire.
True, always be cautious.
Why cutaway? You could use a water soluble fabric then you would not have that leftover bit of cutaway!
I know your area is different than mine, but may i ask what you charge for your items, patches. Embroider on hats, jackets, polos etc? Just for some type of reference point, an idea... Again, i realize or area's are very different so pricing in my market will be different maybe... But some sort of starting point to work off??? Thank you as always, Ever. Look forward to our class tomorrow. Have a great Labor Day weekend.
I like to work with good quality blanks and pricing can always change but for the most part, I charge about $25-35 on hats depending on stitch count and puff. Polos from $45-60 depending on brand.
@@RomeroThreads thank you so much! I do not have room for inventory, which is a huge bummer, so I am hoping to be able to find some catalogs "blanks" that do not list prices that I can show and recommend items??? Separate price., separate price sheet. I could highlight quality items for them to choose from. Not sure how this is all going to work yet. I am pretty good with people, trustworthy so I think that will work as far as being upfront about having to order items prior per job basis then embroidery time. Sorry very winded I will figure it out. Boss asked if I wanted to try my hand at our company jackets. Very excited. Do you have a Romero email address for these types of questions etc? If so will you share during tomorrows class? Take care & thanks again
You can email me at the email listed on the about page. As far as showing customers catalogs, I direct them to the wholesale websites we use, they only see the retail price so its no problem.
What size hoop are you using?
Thats the 8x13 mighty hoop.
@@RomeroThreads thanks
2 quick questions about procedures I didn't quite understand. 1. Why the hooping of double cutaway in the beginning? 2. As the patches stitched, were you just laying down individual pieces of of twill for each patch for ease of trimming? Oh,...and would you repeat this process a few times with different colors of twill other than black? Thanks in advance,...looking forward to your answer, as I was a little confused.
Hello, I am using 2 pieces of cut away to give it a strong base and so it wont be too flimsy. And yes, I am placing the teill individually for ease of cutting and having the option of changing twill colors. This can beneficial if you are making same design different color combo patches. Thanks.
Hi what material is this the black base thanks
The bottom part that is hooped is cut away and the base of the patches is tackle twill from Twill USA. Link should be in the description, thanks.
Hi Romero, I see you mentioned that the Black Twill from TwillUSA is linked in the description, but I did not see it there. Update please? Thank you
twillusa.com/tackle-twill/
Seems like a lot of work for $3.49 per patch minus and material, overhead, shipping, and any platform fees you have to pay, not to mention the $10,000.00 investment in the embroidery machine itself.
I definitely wouldn’t charge $3.49 per patch.
Hello, I am writing from Turkey. We do not have an embroidery pattern drawing video here as clearly and clearly as you. Could you please help me with this embroidery drawing or send me the link of this embroidery drawing program, thank you very much.
extremely amator work😱
Thank you!
