  • A tutorial that demonstrates how to use the AGM-65 Laser Maverick, how to change the laser code in flight and to employ it.
    If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend that you watch my tutorial on the AGM-65 Maverick, as there are some things that I cover there which are relevant to this variant. • Falcon BMS 4.37 Tutori...

    Thank you! I couldn't figure it out even reading the manual. Awesome, easy to follow tutorial ~~~~~~~~~~🚀

    Hi! Your videos are super helpful. Do you think you could make some tutorials on the Israel Theatre weapons? Rampage, Spice, etc.

      Thank you! I do plan on covering the IAF weapons eventuality, I'm a big fan of the Sufa, but I want to cover the weapons on the most used Viper variants first, then I'll do Spice, Delilah and Rampage.

    I haven’t seen a worse UI than that in-flight laser code change interface.
    It feels like it was intentionally designed to maximize pilot workload and misery.
    Awesome tutorial tho, thanks a lot!

      Thank you for watching! Yeah, I totally agree, if changing the laser code was more straightforward, for example on the SMS page where you could input the value directly I could see myself using this weapon more often. Such as it is it kinda ruins it for me.

    Thank you for this vidéo, but the use of the laser depends of weather, smoke etc , and you must stay very near of the object so you can be easealy fired ...

      Thank you! Yes, you're correct, I didn't mention that on this video, maybe I should have, but I believe I talked about that limitation on the laser guided weapons tutorial.

    I am actively avoiding using the L Maverick. Horrible set-up process and necessity to keep lasering the target which leaves you vulnerable. IMO there is no need to use it when you have other fire-and-forget Maverick variants available.

      @fisgasfighties  Před 24 dny +1

      The only reason would be if somehow you manage to get it to shoot through weather and have someone else guide it in the terminal phase, which can be hard anyways as it won't pick up the designation pre-launch.
      The only way I find it semi decent is setting up the laser code prior to the mission in the loadout screen and not having to change it in flight.

      @@fisgasfightiesIndeed. Not sure if buddy-lase is a thing in BMS (as I have returned to Falcon just recently after 4 years break). Anyway, I’d like to thank you for the tutorial series. You deserve much more attention (as well as the whole BMS platform).

      @@PablosCZ thank you for the kind words. I'm just happy to help people and share knowledge. Welcome back to BMS by the way! Buddy lasing is indeed a thing in BMS, very helpful. I've never tested buddy lasing with the LMavs but the procedure works fine on other weapons, I'm pretty sure it works with this one as well.

      Hey sorry for bothering but I have a question: How does buddy lasing exactly work? I can't find any tutorial and there are no training missions for it i think...

      @@Gold_Roberto don't apologise for asking questions, they are very much welcome!
      Ironically one of the videos I was working on before my PC had issues the other day was an explanation and demonstration of buddy lasing. I will finish and release that video at some point, but that depends on how long it will take to have my PC functioning again.
      I'll try to give a text explanation about it in the meantime.
      First method: if you carry a TGP and are able to see the target area with it. Also this assumes that the designating party (JTAC, another aircraft) can change their laser code to whatever your bomb codes are.
      - The designator communicates to you the code they are on
      - You input this code in the laser page on the DED, on the LST field
      - When you are ready, request the designation
      - The designator fires their laser manually
      - While they are doing this, press the LST OSB on the TGP
      - When you pick up the designation, you can then self lase your own munition or if they are transmitting on your munition's laser code you can engage with your laser off and they should be able to provide guidance for it.
      If you don't have a TGP or you can't see the target area (bad weather) you can drop on a coordinate and when the munition passes through the obstruction if it picks up the designation it should guide onto it. For this method I recommend LJDAMs as normal LGBs will fall ballistically when not picking up a designation and this might cause enough deviation from the target area that they might not pick up the destination at all when they pass through the obstruction. LJDAMs don't have this issue in laser guided mode because if they aren't picking up the laser they will guide on a coordinate until they pick up the designation.
      Hopefully that made sense.

    This missile is so slow. Slower than the launch aircraft.

    • @fisgasfighties
      @fisgasfighties  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah it's quite slow, the rocket motor only fires initially as it's being launched from the aircraft.

  • @TheSimGuy99
    @TheSimGuy99 Před 24 dny

    Also, the designer of that laser code system needs to be fired. Its like they tried to make it as inconvenient as possible for the pilot.

    • @fisgasfighties
      @fisgasfighties  Před 24 dny

      Yeah it's pretty bad. It's hard to understand how they thought this would be a good system. They should have just made it possible to be changed on the SMS page like so many other settings on weapons.
