To expensive for me, if they give you life long residency for 25k donation that would be a deal, 5 years is a joke, if you have the money you wouldn`t go there but choose Malaysia instead, if you don`t have the money you choose Latin America and get life long residency for free.

I believe the recent changes to thai tax laws, and the taxing of any money that you transfer into thailand, make this less valid for most of your clients. until they alter that i would suggest just dropping by on a tourist visa. thailand is still a wonderful place to visit. they haven't screwed that up yet.

how? if you buy a condo in thailand, the developer requires you to send money directly to their account from your offshore account, it wont go to your thai bank first
For reference, 1M THB = 30K USD as of this post. Yes, a box filled with iphone and you get a resident. It's that cheap. Before you decide on it, I'd suggest you try visit the place and live for a bit. I have a few houses there and one thing I have to stress is you will never be a Thai. Whenever you visit a national park, you will be charged double, if they're kind, and 10 times, if they're being an ass about it. Marriage will not make you a Thai neither. And if you think it's an option, remember that Thai government can always kill your optionality by pure unadulterated power of their bureaucracy.
I agree with visiting first, I spent a month there and very quickly realised living there is a big sacrifice in lifestyle if you are wealthy. If you are middle class then I see why it might be appealing
the very nice spots in Thailand are just as expensive as western countries now. You need to live far away from luxury for it to be affordable. I was in a luxury hotel in Phuket last week and because the plumbing standards are so bad there was a gas leak and I was getting dizzy and having headaches. Thai elite is also expensive. Better to move to New Zealand and get the 4 year foreign tax exemption (which ive never heard this channel talk about for some reason)
You can take money to Thailand and get heavily taxed. Then in an expensive tiny weeny condo that you never ever be able to sell. But if you are able to sell it, probably at a loss, you will never ever be able to take your your money out of the country. Love Thailand but I don't large sums of money there.
seems a little unreasonable to "donate" these funds, I think you coul dnavigate around that with border runs and other desired travel plans - keeping your funds? just my two cents or Baht
