One nasty ride y'all. It checks all the boxes for a great party. I've been in a couple of 1000+hp cars and on the street that were impressive but at a point they become 'slow' on non-prep because they are struggling for traction. That Volvo doesn't wrinkle the tire, she wrinkles the pavement. Goes to show that you don't have to make 2000hp to be the big dog on the porch.

As a Volvo technician I couldn't be more excited. I would have gone with a built twin turbo Volvo 3 liter straight six but this is simple and awesome.

LS is more easy because you can buy for good price.
@@tiagoabreu4107 pistons are way cheaper than imports. I've spent close to 700 on a 4 cylinder forged pistons, rods are 600, ls crankshaft can handle close to 1000hp when setup correctly

The turn signal is one that is a universal one used in older trucks. Like dump trucks & tractor trailer stuff from the 50's
Having worked at an airport, I saw that turn signal in most of the vehicle I drove there, from the bag tugs and belt loaders to the big pushback tow tugs
Now that's a real "flying brick"

Griffin's just on another level hey. Blokes brain is running a second or two faster than that car is. He anticipates every wiggle, each wheel lift, he knows exactly what's about to happen and responds with no effort or surprise. Man could dodge a bullet I reckon.

As an avid Volvo enthusiast I'm dying to see this one. It must have a conversion which is too bad, but I get it, there's no way to make 1200 hp out of a Volvo engine.

The Volvo has a solid body ,that's why it can handle all that torque the engine puts out. Sleeper wagon ultimate no one knows until it to late. The Volvo gone in a flash. Thank for sharing the awesome video,autotopia.👍
Sleeper wagon? I’m not sure I’d call anything with slicks in the back and a monster throttle bodies sticking through the hood a sleeper.

Dang that Volvo is nutty as hell. It must be exhilarating until it becomes mildly terrifying. But, Griffin is a professional driver...until it gets mildly terrifying. I have the most fun watching you with those cars.

I know someone back in the days strip down a Fox Mustang & swap the 5.0 5spd powertrain in a Volvo Wagon. It fits perfect.

The old foxbody v8 fits onto the Volvo motor mounts.
Volvo engine bays are very spacious, I remember seeing a dude who fit a Viper V10 with twin turbos in a Volvo 242.

That turn signal switch is an aftermarket generic 12 volt switch assembly that has turn and emergency signals with lighted indicators made to be installed on old cars that didn't have factory turn signals or brake lights and also to replace broken turn signal switches on old cars that were originally 6 volt that have been updated to 12 volt and the switch had to be updated but 12 volt weren't available to fit in that old car.
I'm talking cars from Model T through the 1940s and some 1950s.
I've installed a few of those back when I was doing auto electrical. There are or were, a set of lights that you could buy that was just a sheet metal rectangle box with a 90° bracket to use for mounting and it's face has two yellow triangle shaped pieces of glass on the outside edge of the face and it has an oval red piece of glass in the center and that was for the running lights. It was made back in the day to be added to cars that didn't have any lights from the factory which were options in the 19 teens through the 19 late 30s pre war cars, trucks and farm vehicles. I have one in storage somewhere still.
