Never seen anybody do it before , especially in the middle of a trail, to remove a stub. There are a lot of things that have been done before but until you see it. Things are a lot easier in a shop or on a construction site, working with limited resources is a true MacGyver .( I’ve met the original “MacGyver”, great guy , good actor and funny as hell)
Yes He is good at what he does. But I think it's time for him to write a book on his experience. Kinda a how to get yourself out of the situation. Rory, I'm sorry, but you have spoiled us. You've created a monster. 😂
It =sure= beats jacking the buggy up, draining the diff, and opening it up to pry the broken axle piece out with a screwdriver and then fight it past the seal at the other end, then resealing the diff and refilling it.
I love how most people regard Pritchett as one of the more difficult trails around Moab but these three routinely make it look like a walk in the park 💪💪
I remember, about 73-74 years ago, watching my Dad make a lasso out of fence wire to extract the broken stub on his '40 Chev 1 1/2 ton truck. No onboard welders back then!
Rory, Mike and Sean can DRIVE those buddies...shewee! And Rory makes a damn good land-anchor for other rides IN ADDITION TO his expert trail repair skills.
Ya know, I seem to learn something about trail repair watching Rory. But what has really become apparent is Shawns buggy's engine sound... outstanding whatever he did on that engine build and exhaust muffler... so much bettah...
Imagine stopping to question Rorys guidance? Yeah, I can't either. I've never rock crawled in my life (I drive in snow in Canada mostly), but I'd trust Rory to guide me up an obstacle blindfolded. I'm not a CZcamsr yet though, so no off-road games for me for quite some time haha
@bryduhbikeguy Ha! Imagine that. It'd literally have to be Rory though: even during 24 hell and back the experienced guys were getting guidance from him. I wouldn't trust someone else personally.
I'm also from Canada, went down to Moab and Hurricane this summer, was a lot of fun on my Honda dual sport 250l, although I found out just how insanely soft the Hurricane sand is, almost couldn't move uphill in the dunes. I did Hells Revenge, Fins and Things, Gemini Bridges, Hurrah Pass, took Sand Flats rd all the way out to the mountains, and Cinnamon Pass in Colorado.
Rory is not only a rigger, but a SXS outrigger too! & human winch, trail guide, tool manufacturer, humor mill, etc... LOL !! Wonderful view of a trail ride! Thanx !
Brings back memories. Broke an axle in my racecar tow rig eons ago and it had a 9" Ford in my Chevy truck. Had to pull the other axle and make me a rod out of an electric fence post to knock the slug out from the other side. Some grinding and crossed fingers but it worked. A week later it happened in the stock car and guess what? I still had the rod! And the experience. We made the feature!
If not the very best rock climber then certainly as good as anyone else out there. Innovative trail mechanic, innovative recovery expert. Patience teacher. And now he replaces a winch?
What an amazing skillet you have Rory!!! Most guys would try fishing for that broken axle with a wire loop. You nail it with three electrodes. Very entertaining!!😊😊
It seemed like an ideal pairing when Rory was pulling with his Trail Rope on the front of the Razors' front Bumper/Winch Mounts. As soon as the Razor got up, one flick of the wrist and the Trail Rope just came off the hook point.
Lloyd From DownUnder ; Great show guys,, Rory knows all the trics a the trade ah !!! The Cowboys are learning from the best. Awesome trail, Awesome Country,, TOP CONTENT AND AS ALWAYS !!!!!! THE THREE STOOGES ARE JUST THE BEST. 👍💪🏁🏁🏁
Nice meeting you at Maverick that day. We had a great trip. No wonder you guys are so good at what you do what a amazing place to live. Those Moab trails are no joke and if you don't believe it go get you some. I wish you all luck on your Adventures. 🙏
Great video!! Lots and lots of really cool footage and difficult obstacles!! Looks like you were all have WAY too much fun!! LOL!! Thanks for letting us in on the action!!
Only Rory would think of welding 3 rods together, the true MacGyver👍
Old guy hack.
Yes, a local mechanic showed me how to do it about 50 years ago! I doubt he invented the technique.

As soon as the welder broke out I knew what was going to be attempted
Yes He is good at what he does. But I think it's time for him to write a book on his experience. Kinda a how to get yourself out of the situation.
Rory, I'm sorry, but you have spoiled us. You've created a monster. 😂
The broken axle retrieval was a genius idea. This is why Rory will always be #1
That retrieval of the broken axle from the differential was epic!!💥
I love how Shaun just pulls a spare out of nowhere 😂😂 It pays to be prepared
It =sure= beats jacking the buggy up, draining the diff, and opening it up to pry the broken axle piece out with a screwdriver and then fight it past the seal at the other end, then resealing the diff and refilling it.
@@ljprep6250 It sure does!
@@Patrick.Weightman I noticed that too! I'm like is that a thing in rock crawling? For those guys it is!
Trail Mater and Dirtbilly Deluxe was the collab we didn't know we needed.
Those guys should work more together.
Obstacles many offroaders would be weary of going forward rory just throws it in reverse and says “hold my camera” well done man!
and with no mirrors or backup cameras lol
So the trail guides needed to be guided LOL
Guess so. Side by sides are not made for these type of trails. Stupid to do so. Course there is a lot of stupid out there. Getting worse every day.
@@quantumss yeah like those on those mini jeeps. that's what gets trails shut down.
Rory handles obstacles in reverse better than a lot of people do going forward.
That's a FACT.
HEY! Hello everybody and thumbs UP to Trail Mater!
I love how most people regard Pritchett as one of the more difficult trails around Moab but these three routinely make it look like a walk in the park 💪💪
Did it 15 years ago in a stock 03 Rubicon with 33 " tires in the rain ... needed some help from my Wench a couple times tho .
@@rodgoodMuch more difficult now lol
@@rodgood
You have a heck of a woman then. 😂
@@DB-yj3qc ha ha .
As long as you've got the clearance and tires it's not hard. It's only rocks.
I remember, about 73-74 years ago, watching my Dad make a lasso out of fence wire to extract the broken stub on his '40 Chev 1 1/2 ton truck. No onboard welders back then!
Wow, that's some talent there!
Way to go Rory, the human side by side recovery vehicle. Got a Trail Mater rope, nobody said you needed a truck!
Rory, Mike and Sean can DRIVE those buddies...shewee! And Rory makes a damn good land-anchor for other rides IN ADDITION TO his expert trail repair skills.
Yes, collaboration 😂!!! You made my day team trailmater 💚❣️💥 Backwards Buggy Power 💚
Super clever how you got the broken piece of axel out. Every day is a school day
Ya know, I seem to learn something about trail repair watching Rory.
But what has really become apparent is Shawns buggy's engine sound... outstanding whatever he did on that engine build and exhaust muffler... so much bettah...

That could be one of the games. Great comment.

Try actually rock crawling and then maybe you'll understand the anxiety associated with it. Until then maybe keep the judgment to yourself.
To have a job in natures beautiful playground, makes me wish I didn't pay attention to class and teachers either. 😂
Rory in a class of his zone. 👍
You must feel special having dirtbilly deluxe on, they are busy dudes. It feels right so you all should team up.
Loved the three rods welded together trick, brilliant. Shaun should have got to say “what, no way “ 🤔
🙋🏼♂️ 🏁Shawn’s buggy for the win 🏁 🏆
Rory is absolutely the best at off road in all situations. If you ever broke down, you'll wish he was with you to get you back !
Rory is not only a rigger, but a SXS outrigger too! & human winch, trail guide, tool manufacturer, humor mill, etc... LOL !! Wonderful view of a trail ride! Thanx !
That's a fairly tough for a side by side. Not too bad with Rory and the gang there but maybe a bit sketchy for just a guided tour.
I love my side-by-side however I am 100% in agreement, with you on the actions of a few ruining it for all
"now you'll have to drive it in reverse"...hahaha, - oh wait, he did. The whole trail. 🤯
Dirtbilly deluxe... Who knew such people existed.. Rory.. you have to do more with this guy.. in fact you might wanna think about employing him 🤯😂
Just happened to have a spare shaft in the trunk :D True trailmater!
Ive been seeing sneak peeks of this on social media.. patiently waiting for this video 😂 that was a fancy trick to extract your axle shaft!
Brings back memories. Broke an axle in my racecar tow rig eons ago and it had a 9" Ford in my Chevy truck. The welding rod extension to get the broken axle out was friggin GENIUS !!
Shawn is really entertaining everyone. His buggy has been debugged and running great. 🤘
Not everyone has that "what ever it takes" attitude. Well done fellas. It really is hard not to have a good time with that crew.
What exactly did I just witnessed 😮 with removing the broken piece of axle from the axle tube this is why I appreciate Rory
I just LOOOOVE how ya'll make it look kinda easy-ish - when we ALL know that it's not. Well done Rory
GREAT way to get a piece of a shaft out.
Great trail ride and show.
The fact that you still feel bad for “plugging” your own merchandise, on your own dang CZcams channel, is genuinely wholesome. 🤷♂️ keep it up Rory!
I have never seen so many rocks stacked at son of. It certainly made it easier for the side by sides.
13:49 Rory was able to see that a tiny bit of help can get the job done with a shared goal. One man with a rope at the right angle.
She gets nervous Rory says trust me immediately hits throttle, priceless
Dirtbilly guides you out, trail mater tows you back. Quite the set up.
That was a neat way to get that piece of axel out. Nothing like having your own vehicle break down. Looked like everybody was having fun.
Pretty awesome how Shawn skipped up the obstacle💥 8:28
And Rory at 18:18… 🔥
5:04 whoaaa…. You’re the guy that everyone wants at all times 👍🏼
Amazing playground you kids got there! :)
you can see the confidence build each obstacle. Great job teaching guys
Mike is one of my favorite people on youtube. He's not linear and I appreciate his random observations. 👍
I know you will have Ole' Double Ott "00" ready for you and Laura's victory.
What a great video. All of it. Super cool stuff through and through. And it works because you guys are just being yourselves. That's awsome.
4 door Kawi doing pretty good on Pritchett , got 2 door that wet clutch system is amazing Crawl with . Great video keep rockin
That was an ingenious repair BAR NONE! Well done sir, well done indeed👍👍👍👍👍🙂
A fun day of playing, sharing and schooling 🙂 Thanks for sharing 🙂
OUTSTANDING WORK
Great job
3 rods welded together Genius
4:25 that’s the type of stunt I’d dream up, only I’d spend an hour failing to get it to work 🤣
Amazing skills Rory… ❤️🇷🇴
If not the very best rock climber then certainly as good as anyone else out there. Innovative trail mechanic, innovative recovery expert. Patience teacher. And now he replaces a winch?
Rory is the MAN. I could watch this all day.
Where there is a will there is a way and Rory usually finds the way. Another great video. Love watching you guys. Just get to wheel.
I love Shawn's style of semi point it in the right direction and mash the throttle😂
Glad you went along to keep eye on them...shout out to Rory. Mike.and Shawn..you guys are awesome
I’m always impressed with how Rory gets out of a bind.
In the words of TowMater"best backerer upper" TrailMater can live up to the hype/legend with authority. Truly amazing
Best backer upper for sure!!!
Another reason Mondays suck, no Trail Mater videos. This was awsome !
What an amazing skillet you have Rory!!! Most guys would try fishing for that broken axle with a wire loop. You nail it with three electrodes. Very entertaining!!😊😊
This looks like off road games training. Lol!
I can envision Rory helping spot other teams through the obstacles because he is Rory and that's who he is.👍
That was an impressive broken axle extraction!
Like and comment to help the algorithm. Beautiful trails and some unscheduled challenges.
Rory the glory, driving backwards and doing the winch man….. so great to see
Rory got sum skill. Backing his rig back to the starting point
I think Rory is 17.6% better than any and all . Enjoy his humility
That retrieval of the half shaft was 💯 MacGyver move in my playbook. Rory needs a Members Only jacket and a mullet to make it 110percent MacGyver!!!
Rory;..what a show off he takes the climbs backwards....!
It seemed like an ideal pairing when Rory was pulling with his Trail Rope on the front of the Razors' front Bumper/Winch Mounts. As soon as the Razor got up, one flick of the wrist and the Trail Rope just came off the hook point.
Thanks for filming
You guys were awesome to run into on the trail . Thanks for saving my ass a few times. Two seater guy from North Carolina
Nice to see everyone out soloin' it. Hell of a tour 🇺🇲
You guys are the best! Thanks for bringing us along!
A fun video from the Trail Mater team.
If I could drive forward, half as well as Rory drives backwards with a dodgy axil, I’d be ecstatic!!!
Abbbbsolutly awesome to see Rory flexing his table muscle on that SxS! 😂💪
I guess the rear steer is really the next upgrade to do to minimize backing up the obstacles. Though you make it look like a walk in the park.
Whooped em again huh Rory, top of the line skills man!!!
Yeah boy, whooped them again.
Awesome. That guy in the two seater is nuts.
Great afternoon wheelin’. Many thanks for another top notch video. 🇨🇦
Simply amazing that you had an axle and came up with a way to remove the broken part!!!!!! That is the definition of "prepared"!
Love your buggy Shawn, super cool what a fun ride!
That was pretty slick welding the 3 rods together to retrieve the busted shaft
Oh dang, that was slick dude, @5:25 you deserve that big grin
Nice meeting you at Maverick that day. We had a great trip. No wonder you guys are so good at what you do what a amazing place to live. Those Moab trails are no joke and if you don't believe it go get you some. I wish you all luck on your Adventures. 🙏
Micheal is fearless, she drives better than most men on them rocks!
Great video!! Lots and lots of really cool footage and difficult obstacles!! Looks like you were all have WAY too much fun!! LOL!! Thanks for letting us in on the action!!
Maybe rory should do the offroad games also backwards to make the competition even out😂😂
Happy birthday Rory! 🥳🎉🎂😊
Team Rory for the win as always, cool trick with welder, backing up obstacles that I am just happy to climb great job guys, see ya in April
Clever work getting the stump of half shaft out Rory……👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Lube it up Mike lol
Great Skillz, looks like fun. We can all learn by viewing these videos.
Always the best videos! Thank you all.
NOW he puts the seat belt on 😂😅 ...... ya kill me Mikey 😅😊
Excellent video....suspension shots at a premium....even caught Rory working....lmao.....thanks for sharing
The lil Finesse with the Trail Mater Recovery Rope is Priceless! Really shows the experience and skill of You and your team!
and the Trailmater Recovery Rope!
