Doubt the side quests in conjunction with the MSQ is part of the experience for me. Plus NG+ doesn’t start you at the absolute beginning.

@@pootislord3112 A lot of the things that make a "new" playthrough special are not available in NG+. The side quests that add that extra lore and have their own mini stories, and forget about talking to the innkeepers as the msq progresses to see how their dialogue updates on where you are at in the story - all that comes up when you try is the error message "This is unavailable in New Game +" For me its always a joy to go running to "Mother" Miounne in the Canopy in Gridania and see what she has to say, or if I'm in Limsa to get that offer for a free drink from Brendan if I'm willing to sit an talk of my adventures.... but screw going to Uldah.... never trust those midgets no matter how much they smile or nice they seem.... I never go to the Quicksand

I think one of the best aspects of XIV is that due to its decent in game economy, helping people really is no skin off of your back if you're a daily player. You can just shower a sprout in like half a million gill and it really isn't that big of a deal for you, but it's a massive gameplay improvement for them

I had something like this happen with an alt of mine before I could hide the sprout, and I felt so bad for the guy who was giving advice to me. I'm in fact a mentor on my main and I didn't have the heart to tell him that I don't really need the advice because I knew it all already 😂
never played the game so I understand a bit more than nothing but the animation style is. so good.

I love and hate this as a sprout who just started patch 4.1 My brother's friend (they are both at/past Endwalker) is like this and I love and loathe it because it makes me feel pressured to get through the game fast (I know they don't mean it like that but my brain tricks itself in thinking that.)

I used to get a lot of affectionate ribbing from friends and FC-mates because I was notoriously slow with the story. As in it took me literal years to get up to current content. I finished Endwalker in early spring and just yesterday started on patch notes. I did also take a break for a few months in the summer to play other games though too. Absolutely nothing wrong with progressing the story at your own pace-- in fact you might end up remembering it and enjoying it more than some of the folks who rushed MSQ to get to end-game. There's no hurry. I'm honestly thinking of doing New Game+ to re-experience Heavensward at least.

FF14 is really just "Kill them with kindness" the whole way through with most of the community (Excluding SOME people in Savage Content, really is a 90% good 10% bad but I can't blame people after multiple hours of prog. Not good for the brain)

I... I was never watered by any mentor ever, and the friends who invited me are either from a different data center or play at very weird hours. My only social interaction is through sprout chat because eternal FT.

Being a main tank who likes to keep up with extremes whenever I can and isn't nearly good enough for ultimates, I made an alt out of boredom and was kinda just zoning out doing dungeons when someone said in party chat 'this tank doesn't act like a sprout'
Any reasonable person would clarify and correct such a mistake, I just played dumb and carried on and it was the most joyful experience I had in game for a while watching their baffled reactions

These days, waiting until the newcomer to the dungeon finishes watching the cutscene before attacking the Boss has the same vibes as returning the shopping cart to the corral before leaving the parking lot.
@@Zavitor Yeah, the paranoia of people pulling bosses early is a part of why I started maining Tanks back in ARR. First Paladin, then Dark Knight as soon as I could get my grubby hands on it. About to finish up the MSQ for Endwalker with my friend today, it's been a good time.
As a sprout, never really happened. Closest that happens is the random invites to FCs because I’m a trial character and haven’t really joined the FC whose discord im a part of yet XD
as a sprout i havent discovered any folk like this idk if i should be glad scared or nervous .-.
When in hub towns and just hard spacing on what to do, I spy on particular sprouts who cross my path and see if their equipment is underleveled to give'm a poke if they want me to craft a full set to match their job for free.

I’ve admit, I’ve definitely considered being absolute scum and making an alt purely to farm charity from overly generous players. But then I think better of it and instead level my gatherers and rip off the overly lazy on the mb instead.
