- Here is mission 4: Don't hit the walls for Route 280.
Not really much to say here, except just don't hit the walls. This challenge is easier than not hitting cars, at least.
Time needed: 3:45 - Hry
I hate this mission so much lol
The developers knew what they were doing when they made that zig zag tunnel near the end
This mission is absolute hell.
For real
fuck this mission with every fiber in my body. i was 4 seconds off the time limit and i’m just giving up on 100%, not worth the frustration.
i feel your pain. i'm on the verge of giving up on it, too.
It's usually the Tunnels that mess me up. The rest of the way is pretty easy. Just the part where the walls kinda look like a really closed off. But I guess it's different for everyone. After seeing the target time, I'll keep trying instead of being salty about it. xP

dropping in to leave some advice and encouragement that may be helpful for others struggling with this stage! it's a real tough one, im working on 100 percenting the game right now and it was one of the last a ranks i attempted, but i was able to pull through despite being pretty convinced i never could. and i dont believe myself to be a particularly exceptional player lol, so hopefully this can help others in my same position :)
first and foremost, expect for it to take a while. this stage requires a lot of practice and repetition and familiarity with the level. take it easy, and take a rest if youre getting frustrated or tired. it took me 2 or 3 days' worth of consistent play sessions to finally land the a rank (busted through at LEAST 50 lives too lmao) so if youre like me and haven't cleared the level before, it's gonna take a while. i just kinda chilled and grinded out attempts while listening to youtube videos in the background, and did my best to not get too emotionally invested in each attempt knowing it would likely die out
you might want to try playing the mission 1 of this stage and attempt to not hit the walls there, taking note of where your problem areas are. this way you can be sure to go fast on the parts that give you little trouble and slow down in the areas where you tend to hit the walls most. for me, it was the big turn at 1:10 , the sharp turn at 1:28 , and of course those evil narrow zigzag tunnels toward the end. in those areas, i hit the brake and from there held the a button down for smaller spurts of time to make sure i got through with no issue. the time limit for a rank isn't toooo tight here so you can afford to sacrifice some seconds during the hard parts to avoid hitting the walls. and you absolutely dont have to match the speed/maneuvering skill of the person in this video, theyre on another level entirely lmao
good luck to anyone reading this! it's a grueling mission but super satisfying to finally complete, and with enough patience you'll pull through eventually :)

Braking and coasting really does help at times though, and given that the A rank timing is 3:45, you can do that quite a bit
And you can't get the Chao Karate emblems? Have you tried the infinite animal bug?

I must note that there are no other cars in this mission. I think the idea is to not have any accidents. (Why should you have to hit another vehicle to avoid crashing into walls?!)
Actually there is an interesting reason, In the recent May 7 Prototype build that was leaked a while ago (1 month before release), the cars had a different effect, they recoil you away when you hit, that's why Mission 4 doesn't have any cars, probably to make it less difficult, and they probably forgot to readjust this when they changed so the cars fly away when you hit.
I'll give you all a tip, in the tunels where there are a lot of curves try yo lower your speed a bit, that helped me and then on the straight lines I'll went with full power (turbo)

I mean, the amount of times on tails route 101 I have heard him be all like, Oh No!!! I lost him!!!, is unbearable.
I also feel like it is important that the time needed for an A rank on the don't hit cars and don't hit walls missions are reduced by a bit to.
I mean, for example, for mission 1, you have to get a time of 2:45 or less in order to get the A rank. Where as I think on the don't hit cars mission and Don't hit walls mission it is like over 3 mins to get the A rank. I just cannot remember what the exact time it is. So it is importany to pace yourself on those missions. You can slow down a bit here and there and not hit walls or cars and still get the A ranks for those missions.
I recently A ranked all of the 101 and 280 missions, and that helped me out alot actually. So don't sweat it to much if you lose a little speed here and there. Anything to not get hit by cars or walls, and you should still reach the president and tails on time to get the A rank for those missions.

Damn way too many people complaining about this level. It’s acc fun and requires a bit of skill to manoeuvre the car and drift accordingly. This is no where near as bad as the safe level

How the fuck is this easier than the cars mission. You need to slow down a lot if you don't want to lose, and you need more time to do so. This is with no doubt the worst mission of the worst level of the game
After more than an hour, I beat the fucking level with an A, 3:41. I still consider what I said earlier

Aaa the good old days when games were skill-based and didn't care if a majority of players couldn't do it. Nothing like the satisfaction of finally succeeding at something like this
