    Be sure to activate the Apt-X codec in your phone or what ever blue tooth source you have, makes a huge difference in the sound quality in the wireless mode! Makes all the difference in the world. I love my Sennheiser Momentum Wireless M2 AEBT!

    Thank you so much I couldn’t find a single review on this pair but now I did. 🎉 I wanted to know about the mic because it wasn’t working and as suspected it was because of the cable. Thanks for making the video again.

    Thanks for the review. A little mystified with your choice to compare the M2 wireless with the M1 wired - why not the M2 wireless with the M2 wired? People seem to be crying out for this comparison throughout the comments here and on other review channels. How close does the M2 wireless over ear come to the M2 wired over ear in sound performance/audio quality? This is a highly sought after comparison!

    Tyll is very right about that 700 - 2000 Hz bump. Male vocals can sound very forward and even painful at higher volumes with certain music. Original momentum has much better high-midrange balance, but wireless M2 has much better bass and slightly wider soundstage.

    • @rdvancoban5230
      @rdvancoban5230 Před 6 lety +2

      Nowhere near similar. I personally compared them while both in my hands at the same time and I can say sennheiser rocks in sound quality compared to bose. Not noise cancellation though if you are interested. IMHO active noise cancellation is just a sales strategy and does not really mean much if sound quality lacks.

    • @rdvancoban5230
      @rdvancoban5230 Před 6 lety +1

      I will agree with the part that bw p7 is great and really more natural than the other two, even three including sony wh1000x, but I disagree that qc35 and momentum are not that different. I will repeat what i wrote above: Momentum sounds much nicer while qc35 has the capability of eliminating more noise.

    • @JanKowalski-pe9lo
      @JanKowalski-pe9lo Před 5 lety +1

      @alak58 You have to be deaf m8. Bose without QC enabled doesnt sound at all so they have no passive mode. Senns are at its best so no comparison here. If in active mode Senns have far better soundstage and stereo reproduction. Bose are just shitty sound can for its price. Buy only if you like good noise cancellation. I know what im talking about as i have both from over year by now.

    • @JanKowalski-pe9lo
      @JanKowalski-pe9lo Před 5 lety

      @alak58 That`s for sure but still Momentums are head and shoulders above QC35 qualitywise. All in all, in terms of noise cancelling decided that Active one is overrated and came back to my shures.

    • @JanKowalski-pe9lo
      @JanKowalski-pe9lo Před 5 lety

      @alak58 On ears superior in what? Soundstage? Details? Low frequencies? They are more flat coz they have highs more pronounced but that's it. When I've bought qc35 thought that they are damaged.

    A friend gave me these headphones when he went to apple air pods this Christmas. They would not charge so I replaced the battery. The new battery came with enough charge so that I can confirm they do power on, however they still will not charge. When I plug in a MICRO cable they give no indication of charging. Could be the cable I suppose? I have one coming soon. Anyone else experience this?

      Same question. I think the sound quality in qc35 is almost identical to the qc25, and the noice cancelling makes my ear feel a little bit weird. Struggling between qc35 and momentum wireless

    • @sv1840be
      @sv1840be Před 7 lety +2

      The momentum is next on my list to try out. I upgraded from the Bose QC15 to the QC35 and I'm not happy with the soundstage. Bose is typically bass heavy but I feel the QC35's are even more Bass heavy. I agree that the ANC is more heavier on the QC35 and puts extra pressure on your ears. I feel they sound terrible but they are amazing at ANC and they are the most comfortable headphones I have tried (along with the Bang & Olufsen H6). Since my purchase earlier this week, I have tried 2 alternatives so far. First was the Sony MDR-1000x which I tested for a day. From the packaging, build quality up to the features, the noise cancelling and the bright soundstage, I AM amazed. But although the Sony's are marketed as over-ear, they don't encompass your entire ear so the cushions are partially pressing on your ears and there is also very little room inside the ear cups. Fine for short listening sessions but anything more than an hour and my ears started to tingle. I returned them because they were not a fit for me but I am really angry at Sony because I loved all the rest. Today I tried the Sennheiser PXC-550. Better build quality and finish compared to the Bose, equally feature rich like the Sony, larger ear cups that encompass your entire ear, lush cushion, but the ear cups are not as roomy as the QC35. I also felt these 550's were really clamping around my head with way too much pressure. The were more comfortable then the Sony, they sound definitely brighter compared to the Bose but did not sound as balanced as the Sony. I had a headache after 3 hours and my ears really felt warm and trapped. I switched back to the QC35 to compare comfort and really felt relieved. My ears are able to breathe in the QC35. Every ear is different so I would definitely suggest to check the Sony MDR-1000x out if you can try them out and return them for free. I'm now hesitating on trying the Momentum 2.0 because they have slightly large ear cups but if they sound similar to the PXC-550, I'm afraid I won't be convinced either. If you really like a bass heavy soundstage, stick with the QC35. From what I understand, these Momentums offer a little more room and should be extremely comfortable. They are not as feature rich however and you can't turn the ANC off or fiddle with any sound settings.

      I've tried the QC35, 1000x and Momentum 2 wireless now. QC35 sound quality is utter garbage. Muddy on the lows, glaring and harsh on the highs. Mids are ok.... as such it's instantly ruled out in my book. 1000x are nice all round and have the best ANC of the lot, however they are very plastic feeling, and are just feel boring due to the business type aesthetic. I went the momentums because sound quality is outstanding generally with excellent lows and highs, decent mids, plus beautiful looks and build quality. Also, they actually support multiple active bt connections unlike the 1000x.

    • @yewfh-oz7in
      @yewfh-oz7in Před 7 lety +1

      I can't comment on the wired version of the m2, but the wireless m2 definitely sounds better in passive wired mode than active wired, and then active wired is better than bt (either aptx or sbc). Over any bt connection the highs get a little sparkly and grainy sounding, however this is still better than any of the competitors. I would say that the wireless m2's in passive wired are some of the best headphones i've ever heard, and get progressively worse through to sbc bluetooth, however are still outstanding even at their worst.

    Great review +InnerFidelity . Now it's clearer whether to go for a $500 headphones or not. With these features I think it's reasonable enough. I have AKG K450 and I am satisfied with it when it comes to sound quality until Sennheiser momentum 1.0 came. I still chose to wait for an upgrade. I've been traveling a lot lately so I thought a wireless headset would be necessary. ANC would be a plus but I wish it could be turned off if you don't want to use it. Definitely still has a long way to go but overall, would you say that it is the best wireless HP at $500? Are you anticipating any upgrades that Senn would add up to the present features? THANKS.

    I've used these on the occasion for about a year because I got them for cheap. Very comfortable on the head and nice to use, but pretty terrible sound for music with a boomy bass that overwhelms much of the subtleties in the music. Still usable, particularly for podcasts and such where I don't care about the sound that much. Of course, by this point these are very much dated anyway, but hey.

    One thing that i have to say about this, maybe its about taste but the fact is this fowardness in the treeble region is for me whats lacking the most on the original momentum. For me the original momentum lacks dynamism(punchy bass) and resolution, detail. It sounds boring, so boring that i still prefer my koss porta pro and thats very bad because the price diference is ridiculous. Other reviewers says that wireless momentum correct almost everything but the sound stage is not very accurate neither spacious as a full open.
    Now im stuck with the original momentum because here in Brazil almost no one would pay such a high price for a headphone. I would like sennheiser to make a deal with me. We have no place to test the sound here. Sad situation. :(

      How exactly did they break down?What were the exact issues.I'm considering buying a set but not if they won't last.

      Lone Vindicator For the firs pair I got a replacement offer. 100€ to get a new pair, wich I took. Then that second pair died like the first one. One side just stopped working less and less until almost no sound came out. I'm sorry I don't know what exactly went wrong with them. All they did was ask me what I did to the headphones. Which was nothing, I treated them like my babies. Then I asked a salesperson from a major tech market and he said that all headphones only last a couple of years. So now I'm using Apple Earpods. Maybe in the future I might buy some Sennheiser. I heard that they should last a bit more. Also not listening to music that much is kind of refreshing. Cheers!

      Guy Incognito No worries,your experience is a great help.It's good to be reminded that headphones, no matter much money you sink into them, eventually die for no reason.Cheers

    Tyl, isn't it time to do something with that hissing sound? what's making that sound that's always there in your review videos? I'm not one to ask about mic here (never use anything more than what my smartphone has) but it's really noticeable.

      Muhammad Kharismawan It's a known bug with the Canon 7D I use...a very expensive camera. I recently got a new MacBookPro and the iMovie has some hiss reduction software that helps, but leaves some DSP artifacts. I will get a new camera for videos when I can get it into the budget.

      InnerFidelity If you have access to audio software run a gate to lower the noise threshold to your audio. You'll have to fiddle with it to avoid clipping your voice. Even with some high quality mics you will run into a little noise. Stock mics tend to be worse for this even for high end cameras. Easy fix. It's better to do it this way as I've rarely found many noise reduction filters to be all that great.

    Don't get the fuss about Mee Audio. I am not an audiophile by any means... but got a pair of M6 Pro and I am never spending money on Mee. Momentum sound quality is signature Sennheiser. My bet will be on Sennheiser 99 out of 100 times for my money.

      So in a few months i'll get a pair. Still no headphones can compare in comfort, build quality - and resell value!

    These are great headphones for any age group but don't get caught up in the marketing machine BS. Yes, I understand: they may be targeted towards a certain segment of the population but that does not mean anyone has to slavishly observe/follow marketing demographics.

    You're paying for looks. The sound is that of a 200 maybe 300 dollar headphones but then again I would never wear my k7xx's or any high end phones like HD600+'s. if you're a commuter or simply love to travel THIS IS IT. plus you don't need an amp for these although they help a little

    Not a great review! Just rambles on about how average they sound, before adding they're better than any other. Oh, except that other one.. Without showing us any close ups or detailing all the tech about 5 microphones, handsfree calling, Voice commands, voice prompts, types of music its best at, demographic its aimed at, etc!

    Hmmm... This is weird, i´ve literally watched more than 30 videos of the momentum wireless and all of them, i mean all of them can´t praise the sound quality enough. Even though they all agree that it cost a little too much, they also agree that it´s worth every penny. Just funny that you are 1 in 50.

    @evil ras, listen clown when people speak about hi fi they dont speak about mics , you confusing your avarage tech channels , with hi fi channels where they speak about the clarity of the sound hi and mids and everything else in regard to preformance of drivers and there are explained in graphics. So go to your tech channels and get to hear what bs and bias on music you like to hear.

    it sucks when you realize these were all (illegal) sponsored reviews, since Tyll didn't disclose these were provided by sennheiser to be positively reviewed. this is consumer fraud
