    Very helpful video! I was a fan of your billingham bags video from last year and watched it a few times as a fan and owner of Hadley pro myself. Now I'm researching crown and buckle nato straps and I see this and that you've been reviewing a lot of watches, which is my hobby nowadays. Will go back to watch them. Subscribed!

    Just ordered the Supreme “Bond” NATO from Crown & Buckle for my Victorinox. Not only great reviews, but also excellent/responsive customer service. Thank you for this review! I am going to buy the tan/sand you reviewed, too. I think it will go great with my Seiko.

    I prefer the Supreme Nato > Chevron. Equally comfortable, but a LOT easier to size. I understand wanting the cleaner look of the Chevron depending on the watch, but for a diver - Nato looks great :)

    Okay I'm sold! Love the sand khaki strap. To start I'm definitely going to order one of those to wear between my Omega SMPC and Seiko Sarb017. It will look great on BOTH! Really love the rich sheen of those straps, although I will say in certain circumstances your coworker's NATO's more matte box weave with fabric keeper is very appealing as well (maybe if he reads the comment section he'll share where to get his strap, too?). Love your videos, and thank you so much for sharing!

      Matthew Davis Hi again! I can actually answer that - his is an actual OEM Omega strap, $160 from Omega’s site. I will say though that his is also much thicker and has a leather or leatherette backing (I think it’s leatherette so that it won’t wear as quickly as leather would) and I must say it’s really quite nice. I just personally can’t stomach $160 on a nato, but I’ll definitely let him know you like it! 😜 And oh yeah! The tan would look AMAZING on the Alpinist! I have my eye on the white dial new version. Not sure how that will shake out but I’ve always loved the Alpinist. BTW - I’m collecting things for my cleaning video and will hopefully have that up soon too! Thanks as always for coming back and hope all is well!

      @@joshswatches yeah, $160 NATO is a no go! Darn! Thank you though for sharing that info. And yes, thankfully all is well. Of the new Alpanists, the white dial is my favorite. Looking forward to your next video! Take your time and I hope you enjoy doing it.

    Been ages since we chatted about watches. I’ve been getting into Nato straps finally after all these years. Loving them! Was getting ready to try Crown and Buckle and came across your video. Great job as always. Ordered it one for my Seastar (21mm!), and Hamilton Khaki. These look stellar. Thinking to put a few videos together for my watch channel, to share some updates and new acquisitions. Anyway, thanks for pushing me to going through with my purchase at C&B as I always trust your opinion.

      @@joshswatches oh absolutely. I ordered one for my Seastar, as I mentioned, and the fit is perfect and the quality is excellent. Also ordered one for my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. Will 100% order from C&B again, they’re a step above. Good to hear back from you.

    I have 2 BluShark Nato bands, one is a AlphaShark (thick premium) and the other is a normal (thin and a bit flimsy). Sadly, the premium one scratches my skin at the holes, so I'm currently using the normal one, but it does not sit well on the wrist.

    This was such a great video! I was recently gifted my first luxury watch: Omega Seamaster 300 Nekton. I love the bracelet as well as the Omega rubber strap. I'm looking at getting a nato and came across Crown &. Buckle. I'm a bit torn between going with the single pass or the double pass. Do you find that the double pass adds too much height to the seamaster on the wrist? Thanks.

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před rokem

      I always go with the double pass as I feel like the single pass is just way too flimsy.

    Hi Josh, have you bought any of the HD versions of Crown and Buckle? I hope they go well with my Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5 mm. It is a big watch so I wanted to keep the robust look of it. 👍🏽

      @joshswatches  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello! I have not, unfortunately. I can say however that if you’re not opposed to spending on it, the Omega natos will definitely match your Planet Ocean. Some of them are incredibly substantial. Hope this helps!

    I am still waiting for delivery of my Crown & Buckle nato to replace the original Omega nato on my Speedmaster. The Omega could have been a nice strap but that keeper that is going underneath the strap is a complete showstopper. It digs into my wrist and makes me want to cut it off after five minutes of wearing.

    Which has thicker material the Omega NATO or the Crown & Buckle Supreme Nato?

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 4 lety

      Hi there! In my experience, Omega’s straps vary depending on the specific design. The Crown & Buckle is thicker than the Omega I showed here but I bought another Omega nato recently (video on my channel) and that one is thicker than the Crown & Buckle and much thicker than my other Omega. I think the thickness depends somewhat on the striping/pattern. Hope this helps!

    Hey Josh, do yo think that would work on a black Seiko Turtle, or would the meat of the turtle throw the combination out of balance?

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety

      Hi! I think you’re actually spot on - most Seiko divers are way too big for natos IMO, balance wise. Though, a thicker more substantial nato (like a BluShark Alpha) does balance it better

  • @chasewells268
    @chasewells268 Před 2 lety

    Do you notice your watches sit high off the wrist with the double layer? I notice CB does offer the single layer version. I didn't want to pay the same amount for less material but I definitely don't want my watch which is 15mm thick any higher off my wrist than needed.

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety

      Hi! Apologies for the delayed response-I’ve had CZcams comments getting lost recently… in terms of the height it’ll definitely add a millimeter or so to the height but for me that’s okay as long as the overall balance of the case is good. For example-my Planet Ocean and Tudor BB GMT are both about 14.5mm thick and the Planet Ocean wears beautifully on a nato because it’s a 39.5mm case. The Tudor is a massive and chunky 41mm case with a really slab sided design and a nato is absolutely out of balance with it (even more so with a giant seiko diver) so that’s how I approach whether to put a nato on a watch. Hope this helps!

    Can you review Cheapestnatostraps?
    They have fullgrain leather and nato straps. The downside of crown and buckle is that they have very limited choice for 21mm straps.

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 4 lety +1

      Olivier Raynaud Hello! I had to look them up after your comment came through and while they do look nice the reviews don’t seem to be great, especially on Trustpilot. Since this channel is not sponsored or anything and I buy everything with my own money I don’t think I’ll be buying from them. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a cheap nato to go with the BluShark original nylon collection, they’re about $12 a piece (buy 2 get 1 free, plus there is usually a coupon code) and I don’t think you can beat their quality for the price. Hope this helps!

    I recently purchased the Crown and Buckle Supreme Nato Dover strap. I gotta say there are a lot of nice aspects of this strap but after only 3 days of wear the adjustment holes were fraying severely. Pretty disappointed in the nylon quality and lack of sealing around the holes.

    ..... Bit late to the party but better to be late than never I suppose! Haha. And a tiny bit off the subject I'm sorry but I just wanted to say a Big Shout out to "Crown and Buckle" for there very own Chevron Fifty strap too Josh! I bought it to fit on my Tudor BB58 and it fits like a match in heaven! Even when you take into account the the cost of the postage and customs tax etc it's still a no brainer why I went for this particular strap from C&B compared to the Official original £145.00 Tudor fabric one! The quality speaks for itself on this Chevron Fifty Strap and I can honestly see why now the watch community all over the world are saying only "Positive comments" about this South Florida based watch strap company! Keep up the good work Josh! Stay safe and Happy Hols pal!!

    Hi, the only thing that is holding me back from buying them is that it has brushed and not polished hardware is that something I have to be concerned about for a watch that is polished? it does look pretty shiny in the video

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před rokem +1

      I think it’s all up to you what you think looks best since it’s your watch and your style. :) I tend to think fully polished watches belong on leather straps, not nato strap, though. Depends on what kind of watch it is.

    How do you feel the Supreme compares with the AlphaPremier from BluShark?

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 3 lety +1

      So I think the Alpha Premier feels just as good if not slightly better. HOWEVER, i and others that I’ve heard of have had problems with the Alpha Premier because the weave is so soft that the tongue of the buckle starts digging into the material because they have rectangular holes and can actually start to tear at those corners after a while. Have not had that problem with these. I will say that these do feel a bit more plasticky than the BluShark but the hardware is nicer and I don’t have durability concerns.

    Its funny how views can be so different, starting from 00:40 , I have quite the opposite view : straps are only for winter, otherwise you sweat on em and may have to wash straps or buy tons of new ones. And summertimes bracelet is absolute go : much more water/sweat/dirtproof than textile strap.
