Recently I discovered Ilia Kulik and fell in love with his skating technique. It warmed my heart when I learned that he and Katerina were together. I have watched every video posted with both of them. They are truly the best skaters on ice and love when they skate together. There is a connection, but not the same as when Katerina and Sergei skated. The adored each other. Ilia loves her, but her heart is still with Sergei and I feel so sad for Ilia concerning that fact. You never forget your first love and Katerina will never give her whole heart to another man. This video is the first post I have watched where the announcer stated that Ilia and Katerina had recently wed. I know the rest of the story in bits and pieces about their move to CA. His dream to teach skating to kids did not survive and neither did their marriage. I do not know why they divorced. I read that Daria hated him and he wasn't able to see his daughter Liza as much as he liked. That breaks my heart. Katerina was a single parent for many years and very independent, but it is a lonely existence. I know because I was a single parent for eight years. You're always the fifth wheel in a group of married couples. I don't know what Ilia is doing now or where he lives. I did read that Katerina moved back east and Daria attended college. That I was years ago and I think Daria is in her late twenties. What happened to Ilia? It would be great if someone could fill in the missing pieces.....please. I'll just keep watching this magnificent man skate. I hope he has found the love of his life. He deserves it.
