Dirrell is much more intelligent and aware than I expected. I always saw him as a guy who fought mostly according to his natural athletic skillset but the man is scientific!

A+ Andre Dirrell Essay
1. Dirrell was hit and knocked out By Arthur Abraham while down on 1 knee. When he woke up he had no idea what was going on. Totally out of it after waking up. Dirrell won the fight by Disqualification. Never was the same mentally.
2. He fought Uzcategui and wasn't doing great. Uzcategui accidentally punched him late; after the bell rang for the round. Dirrell appeared to play opossum and lay out as if he couldn't continue because of the punch 😒. Hoping to get a win by DQ again . And It worked.. His corner (uncle) because of the damage Dirrell suffered from Abrahams punch was emotional. After the fight pretending to forgive Uzcategui suckered punched him bare knuckles badly. Uzcategui pressed charges and Unc was banned permanently from the sport of boxing.
3. A rematch was set up. Uzcategui seeking revenge and knowing Dirrell pretended to be more hurt than he was... And for what Dirrell's uncle did by knocking him out. . During the fight Was stalking and walking Dirrell down the entire fight. Dirrell looked scared and Guilty was running from him.. It turned into predator vs. prey. He was being beat up each round.. mid fight. Dirrell kept wanting to quit between rounds. He kept telling the coach he wanted to quit. His coach Virgil Hunter (also Andre Wards coach) kept telling him 'I will give you 1 more Round' And "if you quit ; you will regret it for the rest of your life" Dirrell quit anyways. He told one of the commission he didn't want to fight.. He was looking for a way out and couldn't find one. So he made a way out. He may be a decent person but he lacks heart in the Boxing sport.

Devon’s problem is that he cannot avoid the left hand. I saw it in the Loma fight also. He also needs to improve his defense to stop combinations punchers. If he Tightens up his defense he will be good.

Devin finally boxed someone with the same body frame. He got exposed with the glass chin , and tried to come in and be the aggressor in some rounds and only to get caught slipping with by Ryan's power and speed. There's no excuse for any boxer and in my opinion had Ryan really been 120% in training camp. This fight would've been done in 3rds. 💯

Enroll Spence spoke on this during build up to his fight with Crawford , he called out the sanctioning bodies and wanted to know where the money goes since it doesn’t go towards fighters benefits or improved health care for fighters . Heck , Floyd showed everyone you don’t need them belts to be a superstar in the sport .

I’m not a Devin fan but it’s not about how big the fighter is necessarily but more so about how much a fighter has to drain themselves. Devin and Ryan should be fighting at 147 or higher so they have to lose a lot of weight and drain their bodies to make weight which affects their performance fight night. When a fighter doesn’t have to drain as much they aren’t as fatigued, can put on more weight etc
That 3.2 pounds means that fighter didn't bother with making weight and the fighter that did lose that 3.2 pounds is more dehydrated. Coupled with no rehydration clause, it's a huge size advantage... Ryan rehydrated, but was never fully dehydrated to make weight.. The difference in the ring was noticeable. Haney did the same thing with Regis, except he actually made weight..
