    Melissa Dunphy, originally from Australia but now based in Philadelphia, is a force in the composition world. Her 2009 Gonzales Cantata was described by Rachel Maddow as “the coolest thing you’ve ever seen on this show.” Since, Dunphy has won a number of composition awards and commissions, and her work has been performed by incredible choirs around the world. Her current projects include an opera commission from Oberlin Conservatory. Dunphy’s “If thou wilt be perfect” was commissioned by St. Peter’s Choir, St. Louis, Missouri, under the direction of David Sinden, and was premiered on October 14th, 2018 for St. Peter’s Church’s 150th anniversary.
