To each their own. I have been using Clarisonic for 10 years now, I use it once or twice a week with my facewash. It made such a huge difference to my skin, it's amazing. I used to have more oily skin with breakouts, but in the few months my skin was transformed and it became more normal, and my first Mia lasted me for 9 years. I wish Loreal wasn't shutting them down entirely. At the very least, since these devices last so long, I wish they would at least be selling their brush heads. It's extremely unfair to the customers who have been using this device religiously.

Same. It is especially good at removing a full face of makeup, or sunscreen. I've washed my face with my hands, then followed with my 10 year old Mia. Could see makeup on the brush. Sad to see it's gone, but I'll continue to use mine as long as it recharges!

L’OrĂ©al is a smart company, they bought CeraVe only just in 2016. They have since then took a brand that you only use because your doctor told you to, to the #1 dermatologist recommended skincare brand, topping long time champion Neutrogena. Not to mention selling out at every retailer. I think they know a little bit about how the beauty market works. I think they just saw that no one was buying Clarisonics anymore so they just discontinued it before it lost them any more money.

I have been a master esthetician for over thirty years and I used and sold Clarisonic’s for about 15 years. At that time the product was excellent and had a lifetime guarantee. About 5 years ago ( don’t quote me on the time) Clarisonic was purchased by L’OrĂ©al and they destroyed the product and they way it was developed and made. Making it more harsh and they did not stand behind their brand. That is why they are going out of business. L’OrĂ©al and Ester Lauder own thousands of the beauty brands, they change them and do not keep up the standard. They also had AWFUL customer service.

I agree with what you said. I worked for a cosmetic company bought by L'Oreal a few years ago, and I can honestly say they have no interest in making anything better. As an employee it was terrible working for them, and working with customers, they voiced how annoyed they were by the increase in prices but not a lot of improvement to justify it. It feels like anything L'oreal touches, expect it to go downhill at some point.

That brand was always too expensive. I got an exfoliating brush as part of a Christmas gift put out by oil of Olay. I found it did over exfoliate my skin- so I stopped using it and went back to using my hands or a soft washcloth. Skin much happier. I do have an exfoliating brush in the shower that I use once every couple of weeks with my usual face wash- that seems to be plenty. I also have the Ordinary red exfoliating that I use every couple of weeks too.

I have a Clarisonic Mia that I got a few years ago as a birthday gift. I use it like 3 times a week and it really makes a difference, and I am really skeptical about beauty knickknacks and have stopped using it for months to test out if it makes a difference and it does, a minor difference, pores look a tiny bit smaller. I do change the brushes out regularly with some generic ones that look identical to the Clarisonic brand ones and always keep the device really clean to avoid bacteria. I’ve never tried the the Clarisonic skincare line.

I have been using my clarisonic for about two years now. I have keratosis pilaris, so using it once a day has really helped my skin with redness and bumps. However, in hindsight, I would definitely go for something like a Foreo Luna instead. Having to purchase brush heads regularly is annoying. Also, the silicone is definitely a more sanitary choice. I feel like the heads that I buy don’t ever really dry out and eventually start smelling funky. I will keep using my clarisonic until it dies and just buy third party heads for now.

I use skin care as well and it was one of my favorite steps because also used it in the shower. I really love it. I got brushes back ups that will last me at least a couple of years and then I need to re invest on another device that would do something like Clarisonic did for my skin! Hi Cassandra. I bought a clarisonic mia a number of years ago when they were first released and did use it a couple of days a week to start with. Over time this went to a couple of times a month for a deeper cleanse. One of the problems I had was delicate skin (eczema), so I would never have been able to use it everyday. My skin became even more sensitive as I got older and through menopause developed rosacea. I stopped using it completely over three years ago. I gave it to my partner who really liked it pre shave and to be fair it has lasted many years used somewhat sporadically. I bought a Foreo last year (the white ultra sensitive version with no nubs) and this works so much better for me. I still only use it a couple of times a week for a deeper cleanse, but it's not irritating at all. i have dry skin and double cleanse most evenings, so my skin is kept clean. I think the devices do give a deeper clean though and whilst no one really needs them, they are a nice addition to a self care routine. I bought mine on sale fyi, as they phased in the foreo that works with an app (which I have no need for) and it was half price.
I had stopped buying actual brushes for the clarisonic, as it is possible to buy brushes to fit it at a lower price point (the actual brushes were i felt very expensive). These may still be available for a while for those who want to continue using the device they have. Best wishes.

I tried liking it and tried selling it (work at a salon) but it’s true, they really were not affective especially for the price. Yeah my Clarisonic has been in the drawer for years just collecting dust. I use your turn and learn method for everything, it is shocking sometimes to find out what we blindly purchase. Thank you for your knowledge!!!❀

I love my Clarisonic and it helped my skin so well when I was using it. And the quality of the tool is awesome. I have not charged mine in 2 years and the battery is still running. Unfortunately I no longer have a brush to use. I am looking for brushes now.

I used to own the original Mia many years ago. I know these devices are not necessary, but I do love my Foreo mini 2. Also, no replacement heads!

Loved them when it first came out. Bought two of them actually. I ended up stop using them because I started to notice mold growing under the brush heads a month into using it. Would drive me insane. That was when I discovered foreo. Got one of those two years ago and I am so happy with it.

My skin broke out so bad while using a clarisonic, and after 6 months of every other day usuage, and only ever used at night, even with the gentle brush head, I decided to chuck it. Since then I have only ever used a Foreo or a Konjac Sponge which are way more gentle and cheaper.

I was excited when I finally got one but overtime I felt like it was increasing my breakouts because I was over exfoliating.

I buy my replacement bush heads off ebay. I buy the gentle brushes but I don't use it as much. Maybe I should start back because my skin is looking really dull lately

I actually really like mine! I got one after my derm told me my skin has trouble shedding and that’s a big part of why I break out horribly. I chose Clarisonic rather than a knock-off because I didn’t want to deal with buying batteries. But it absolutely is a ymmv item.

I don’t know if you’re going to see this, Cassandra, but could you recommend a cream cleanser like cerave hydrating cream cleanser, that’s fragrance-free? I’m looking to replace it with a cruelty-free option. Another youtuber on here, Mad About Skin, confirmed cerave is not cruelty-free.

Earth Science makes a line called Ceramedx that has a fragrance free cream cleanser (says it's for body but it's gentle enough for face) and a few other products for sensitive skin. They contain ceramides like CeraVe. I found it after Cassandra recommended it in a video.

Cassandra 🙏please could you recommend a kind mechanical brush - I really miss the effect of my 'sensitive head' clarisonic. My foreo doesn't compare : (
