You could tell the historian was quite happy to say that Heydrich died a painful death. Her smile gave her away.

He was a careerist and an opportunist who had absolutely no conscience. He was not a stupid man. Remember a lot of the top ranking SS/SD had doctorates, law degrees etc. These were the true architects of the final solution not crazed lunatics. That’s the worrisome part. Education in itself does not open your mind but it can make you more efficient at carrying out tasks. In their case this was a task. We can be there again if we not very careful. Anti semitism was a popular concept in the day both in Europe and N. America. I think it still is in certain circles (we all know which circles).

Czechoslovakia had already ceased to exist before Heidrich's role as the Reichsprotektor for Böhmen und Mähren (Bohemia and Moravia) on March 14th 1939 by the proclamation of the Slovak state. By continually suggesting Heidrich ruled Czechoslovakia, you are implying his infuence over Slovakia, which he did not have.
Probably not the only mistake, exaggeration, or factual ignore in this documentary. Not to say that he was a "Mr Nice Guy"- he certainly wasn't from all appearances.

The Czechoslovak people are rightly proud to have brought this man to an end. He has never paid for his heinous crimes except for the long and painful death from sepsis so we can take a little comfort from that.

It was Karel Curda, one of their own operatives, who betrayed the two Czech fighters to the Gestapo and revealed the safe houses where the other resistance fighters were hiding.
The documentary contains several inaccuracies and some glaring omissions.

For the rest of the war, it did virtually nothing.
The assassination of Heydrich had no effect on the outcome of World War II. It was a politically motivated decision, not a military one.

I don't understand this (apparently recent) policy of simply blurring out pictures of dead bodies in youtube WWII clips. Rather than "protecting" the viewer (or, I guess, the victims?) it wholly serves to dull the portrayed crimes of the perpetrators, and it should be dumped immediately. (Maybe the images are not appropriate for children...but neither are Reinhard Heydrich documentaries to begin with.)
I just hope his final week of living (after the assignation attempt) he suffered excruciating pain

My biggest gripe with these types of documentaries is when people speak clear English, and they still decide to deafen them out by narrating "translation". What's even worse is when they translate for someone not speaking English and they have the audacity to add a really bad fake accent.

And there were other brave people that helped them and protected them while they worked out a way to get Heydrich - the team was in rump Czechia for almost six months after being parachuted in just after Christmas 1941.
One of the key resistance workers was a Czech housewife who was tortured to death, had her head cut off, put in alcohol and that was then shown to her son, who was also undergoing torture. The son then broke down and revealed where the commandos were hiding - in the church.
I only wonder if I could be 10% as brave as these people in the circumstances.
