  • Restored beyond factory, this one year only 1970 Dodge is a rare BEE! It's sporting orginal Plum Crazy paint, power bulge hood, air shocks, spoiler, and a 440 stroker with 500 hp! Dennis found this wild ride at Mopars at the Red Barns in Hickory Corners, Michigan.

    I’d drive this car two hours or more to a show. Can always fix it if something happens. I don’t believe in saving it for the next owner I’m going to enjoy it now!!

    I just turned 62 years old. And the super Bee was always one of my favorites growing up. Dennis is Right extremely rare these days. I have not seen one on the street or at shows in over 20 years in Arizona.

    As a former owner of two wm23's i say this car is righteous, the 70 power bulge looks & blends much better than the 69 carryover ramcharger setup but that's just me i sure some would beg to differ.

    • @creepingjesus5106
      @creepingjesus5106 Před 2 lety +3

      They're called 'spinners' if you want to search more, but fundamentally, they're heavily weighted to the bottom, and mounted on a bearing in the centre of the wheel. So the when the wheel rotates, they never build up enough momentum to rotate themselves.

    I got up close and personal with a 1970 Plymouth Superbird a few months ago and was surprised to learn that while it's based on the Roadrunner the front fenders are '70 Coronet. The Roadrunner fenders didn't have that bulge on top and the 'bird needed that to make as much space as possible for the NASCAR version with the 426.

    great Car and Great Color. paint colors were a lot more interesting in the early 70s than they are now even Luxury cars had fun bright colors I.E. Cadillac's fire Mist Metallic paint choices in the late 60s early 70s for ex my late maternal Grandfather had a 1968 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Coupe in Sable black with rosewood Fire mist Metallic trim until 1971 when he traded it for a 1972 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Coupe Uncle Joe got his driver's License in Feb 1974 so he learned to drive in the 72 Oldsmobile and my moms first experience driving a car was a 1975 Oldsmobile Toronado she'd drive her then boyfriend/fiance to work at the Polaroid camera factory in Waltham mass then take the car to school and then pick him up from work at 5 PM aged 15 1977/1978 If I didn't have my disability issues I'd have either learned to drive in a 1990 Toyota Camry or a 1990 Volvo 760 at one point in the early/mid 70s three of my grandparents drove Oldsmobile's two of them were mainly GM buyers Cadillacs Olds Buick and Chevrolet when my dads older sister Betty Got her License in Oct 1972 she got a used 1970 Pontiac trans am

    I love the 70 Coronets, one of my most favorite B Bodies. This particular example is a tastefully done custom, however they mention they did a full restoration of the interior, but what about those gauges? Those yellowing gauges just takes away from a beautiful interior. I'd hope that's a future project of theirs to have them sent out an restored (Instrument Specialties does a fantastic job restoring these.) I'm not bashing the car but I just couldn't help noticing that one detail.
