Got some big boys here! Congrats!
So many iconic cards
Thanks for checking out my reveals man, I really appreciate it!
I have that 72 Maravich BGS 8 and the Bird solo PSA 8. I brought the Bird and subbed the Maravich muself in 2000.
Two of my basketball favorites! Thanks for watching!
i really dig the 49 reese
Thanks man, me too, color is crazy on that one.
Im going to have to check your ebay for a ted williams.Awesome content
Dan, the Ted Williams cards are staying in my personal collection, I am sorry about that!
You have some really nice cards. I agree with you; PSA is a crap shoot when it comes to grading! The graders are too busy keeping pop counts as low as possible.
Thank you for watching and your kind words! The vintage speaks to me as well!
Awesome return TBC. I still do not understand why they will not grade miscut cards. The min size makes more sense but don't understand the miscut. Why not just knock off a couple points and grade it? Always enjoy your videos, commentary and honesty.
Snake
Thanks Snake, the most frustrating part is that some of the PSA graders WILL put the miscut cards into slabs, while others will simply reject them. It would be nice to see them use all their money and technology to be more consistent….
John, as always, I thoroughly enjoyed your reveal! Lots of vintage greatness! 😊
Thanks man! This was a fun one.
Kato did it
😹😹😹
Great return, as always!! Thanks for the video!
Thank you my friend! My pleasure!
Lots of great cards..I have only broken open one card..PSA graded it a 4..I said who graded this card? A blind person?? No way its a beautiful card I thought would get at least an 8.. Broke it out and sent it to Beckett with sub grades..It got a 9..Thinking now about breaking a Jordan 86 Sticker with an 8 ST..cleaning the tiny spot of wax off and sending it to SGC..
Not a bad idea if the Jordan sticker is centered!
Thanks for sharing the vintage eye candy Mr. Rossi!
My pleasure, thank you for watching broski
the 1980 Henderson and the 1971 Aaron are 2 of the most inconsistant graded cards that I have seen, maybe the 1979 ozzie rookie
Great vintage!
PSA purchased - company with a AI technology to detect imperfections humans were unable to detect called, “Genemint.” If they’re already utilizing the method, it’s going to kick back lots more in the future. PSA is the most inconsistent because they employee the most graders. Human error isn’t oblivious in any industry. I wish they would offer sub-grades. It might tell you the difference between your 4 & 2 better. I’d speculate the nicer looking 2 has a crease you can’t see well through the case not showing in the right light.
Thanks for watching, I’m aware of the Genemint purchase as well. Let’s see how that plays out!
I think of Miscut as cards that were cut near the edge of the picture, but those seem to still have plenty of boarder on all sides. What am I missing?
Miscut can also be factory cut issues such as “wavy” edges or non-square corners or cards cut too big, more than 2.5” by 3.5”
@@TalkingBallCards Ah! Thanks!
Congrats on your returns man. There must be some sort of practical grading structure they use from year to year. Looking at your first 65 Maris, it looked sharp, maybe slightly OC. To get a 4 on that seemed a bit on the low end. Then you have a sharp 64 Frank Robinson, but a little more OC than the Maris and it grades higher. I don't mean to put down the card, but it's interesting to see how grading companies evaluate cards from year to year. There must be some sort of approach for each year. It would make for an interesting hobby discussion on the possible theories of how grading companies handle their grading for each year.
I certainly think that weighs into the grading! Thanks for watching man!
The 58 Brooks is my favorite. Very tough to get that centered.
The classic sneeze card 🤣🤣🤣
@@TalkingBallCards OH yeah, he definitely just smelled a bad fart in that photo!
Great vid. I don't understand the PSA "miscut" label. Most of yours don't even look tilted/diamond to me, let alone mis-cut. I don't get it.
I know, some of them are head scratchers lol
With the PSA inconsistencies, do you recommend BGS?
Not BGS, I think SGC is the best bet for me with my vintage cards!
Was Yogi Berra a player or a manager in 1965?
In 1965 he was a player and a coach for the Mets. This was after he was the Yankees manager in 1964. To the best of my knowledge, kind of a weird transition from player to coach
Yogi Berra did not become a manager until after Gil Hodges died 1972
The ‘72 Ryan is tilted.
Certainly a bit, but not enough to drive the grade down to a 4. 🤔🤔🤔
PSA is a joke. A lot of their PSA 10's would grade an eight at other reputable graders. Sent in baseballs for for autograph authentication. Out of six two came back with no authentication stickers. Two sheets of paper with nothing checked off or written on them, is the explanation they give, what a joke. all the autos were obtained by myself in person. No possible reason for them not to authenticate those two balls, except they were sent in on a price deal and they were the two best players in the lot. They use the grading system were your card is worth a lot so we are charging you more for grading. When the grading for all cards should be the same. They have turned card grading into money grab for themselves.
I agree with most of that, they are incredibly inconsistent. I’ve had in person autos rejected as well. Thank you for watching!
Inconsistent indeed ‼️‼️‼️👌💩
