These commercials feel nostalgic despite being the first time I've seen them. The way things are filmed, the BGM, and the text used at times really push that vibe

How did they do the thing with the slow moving, glowing, spinning egg at the end of the first commercial? My best guess is that some piano wire is involved and George was filmed sideways. Or they filmed it on a KC-135 "Vomit Comet" flying parabolic arcs to simulate zero gravity (but that seems like a bit much for a three second shot in a Japanese TV spot).

If I had to guess... it could just be a lamp attached to a long black rod (with electric wire inside) that's rotated and moved from behind Lucas, by a man hidden by a black curtain. Using a black background to make objects float is one of the oldest tricks in puppeteering. P.S. notice that the egg rotates only on one axis

@@catoblepag Now I'm thinking George was filmed lying down on his back and the egg is suspended by a piano wire just "under" the bottom of the frame (with the camera looking down so it's probably being suspended from the same location). If the egg is dangling down from where the camera is, it would easily explain why it's only spinning on the perpendicular (relative to the camera and George) axis.
As for how they illuminated the egg in the era before you could easily do it with LEDs and a battery inside the egg, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an electrical cord hidden in George's clothing. Or maybe it's for a shot that only lasts a few seconds anyway so an internal battery was enough power even with an incandescent bulb.

By chance, do you know any recordings in the voice of Shinji Hata, who hosted a George Lucas exhibition in Japan in the 1990s?
I have the beautiful book From Star Wars to Indiana Jones: the Best of the Lucasfilm Archives by Shinji Hata and Mark Cotta Vaz from Chronicle Books.

    たまたま、1990年代に日本でジョージ・ルーカス展を主催した秦真司の声で録音されたものを知っていますか?
シンジ・ハタとマーク・コッタ・ヴァズの美しい本『From Star Wars to Indiana Jones: the Best of the Lucasfilm Archives』を Chronicle Books から持っています。
    また、もし皆さんの誰かが、現在東京に住んでいることを知っている秦真司を見つけるのを手伝ってくれたら、それは非常に感謝します
