    Nice truck, got same color 2021 TRD Off-road. Looking to install one of these little things on it. Don't like the delay on stock acceleration + my tires slightly bigger then stock. Thanks for reviewing it after owning it for few years, was looking for such review.

      Thanks and thanks for watching. It's a great addition to have with your 4Runner. I've adjusted it and now no delay. I haven't had any issues. Many people don't install the correct one for their vehicle. Also, they change settings while the vehicle is moving. Those are a few reasons why some are having issues. Thanks for watching!

      I have a 2026 4Runner Trail and I have own the Pedal Commander for over 2 1/2 years. First of all, it works great… it takes the lag out of the throttle. However, l experienced a problem that most likely was do to the install of this device.
      About 4 months ago I experienced a dead throttle event. It was temporary, but a bit concerning. Approximately a month later the same thing happened and it placed my vehicle in “limp mode” (engine light, drivable enough to get home). I removed the PC, cleared the code (throttle issue), and ran flawlessly without the PC attached. About a month with no more issues I contacted Pedal Commander Support.
      They contacted me immediately and I shared my experience and gave them data (serial # of PC and codes). They told me to reinstall the device with a custom update. So far no problems. The support team is excellent.
      One thing I do recommend is purchasing an OBDII. If you don’t have one and you experience the same thing I did, you will have to take your vehicle to a mechanic to have vehicle codes cleared. They are very inexpensive now so I do recommend them to diagnose issues even though you have a certified mechanic work on your vehicle.

      Congrats! I've heard the bad reviews. After installed, you will feel the difference. Just remember, change settings ONLY when you're completely stopped. I think this is why people experience certain issues. I have a specific setting and have not changed it for months, still performs perfect. Good luck, have fun, and thanks for watching!

    I really want to purchase; but (from everything I’ve read) it’s almost like it’s 50/50 for you to have issues. While I don’t see the same for the Sprint Booster. PC definitely looks better, and has more features, but I would rather have no issues (while looking “worse” and having less settings)-then looking nice & having more mods…but having issues.
    *Again, I do NOT own either (SB or PC)-really want to purchase PC, but I don’t know if I wanna “roll the dice”

    • @ThatRed4Runner
      @ThatRed4Runner  Před 2 lety +2

      Chris, I agree totally. I spent 2-3 years debating if I should I purchase PC. I think the main issues people seem to have is changing modes. You shouldn't change modes while foot is on the gas, period. I change modes while stopped and don't have issues. Since my wife doesn't rive my 4Runner, I leave the mode alone. I haven't touched the modes in years. I have had no issues. Maybe people don't buy the correct PC for their vehicle; meaning they buy from a 3rd party. I purchased mine from the PC website. I put all the specs in for my 4Runner. There are 1000x videos on CZcams stating the PC almost killed me, etc. Not saying it was the drivers fault, but I haven't had major issues. I did feel a lag after a few months after buying and installing; but I was changing modes while driving. That was my fault. Now I hardly change modes. But the times I've done it, I was stopped. No issues.

    • @chrispangelinan2487
      @chrispangelinan2487 Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the clarification. I was actually just talking about the “check engine”-light…or some electrical (small) issues from it. I too figure that anyone who had a Major-Issue, prolly didn’t follow directions to the tee. I just don’t wanna have any issue whatsoever (even if very small). Obviously that logic would say “then don’t alter your vehicle at all”. Lol…I’m just going in circles.
      Long story short, I’ve been looking at getting this upgrade for a while now, and was really leaning towards PC-my father actually was the one who leaned towards SB (& even got one for his truck)…& he’s had no issues.
      I’m just gonna have to do it…or not do it. Regardless, great channel/great content. You definitely have a new subscriber here. Keep it up, I’ll be watching 👍🏽

    Just confirming that you said you’ve own the PD for 4 years now in your 4Runner and not have yet experience any error codes, check engine light or limp mode? That’s my only fear about using it.

    • @ThatRed4Runner
      @ThatRed4Runner  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yes, that is correct. No issues. Maybe not all, but some people who have issues maybe bought the wrong Peal Commander. Each unit is specifically for a certain vehicle. Also, when plugging in for the first time, your key fob should be away from the unit...like 50ft. After to put in settings, you should only change settings when your vehicle has come to a complete stop. No one but I drive my 4Runner, so I don't change my settings. Also, the settings will stay set after you turn the car off. There are also of videos out there stating the PC is junk, they needed to take their vehicle to dealer to reset something...???? No issues man.
